Our deck started to sag in the middle and we called his team out to look at it. They did a quick fix which did not resolve the issue. We called Mike and had a brief discussion, and he told us, "I don't know what to tell you". He then hung up on us. We eventually got him to come back out. He had an attitude the entire time. His crew admitted to not checking the ledger board. Our deck is lower on one end and has several areas of buckling. Mike had nothing but excuses. One of his team members offered a solution. They worked on it and left without asking for feedback. Mike never followed up. They also don't use hidden fasteners so there are holes in our no maintenance decking. Mike was completely rude and unprofessional. They built our deck wrong and he made us, the customer, feel like the bad people. His crew also took the dirt from the footings and threw it under our arborvitae bushes. I had to dig it all out by hand. There are a lot of deck builders. Do you research. I wish we had.

There was great up front communication in reviewing what I wanted to do, and we came up with a plan for purchasing materials and having him do the project. Note this was more of a custom job with pre-determined kits from a retailer, so not a typical project he's worked on, but he assured me multiple times that he could do the project with no issues. Unfortunately, once he started things took a turn. The instructions weren't followed, measurements were off, permit wasn't pulled, and there were multiple other issues that came up that resulted in me having to fire him and hire someone else. We did come up with an exit agreement in terms of fixing repairs and covering damages which was much appreciated. If you're looking for general fence repair, and/or a standard fence install, I would recommend. Just make sure you do you homework, sign a contract, and ensure permit is pulled.

Now onto the the actual work. I contacted them months ago for some estimates and Jim/Virgil was great to work with. He came out as requested and gave fair estimates for both drywall work, replacement stairs, and ceiling work. He even came out a second time to give an estimate for some replacement siding. The drywall crew consisted of two guys who spent a few days working on a small section in the basement, they made sure to make things look their best and did a decent job cleaning up each night. They were polite and always listening to my feedback. 5 stars there. The siding guy came out and replacement some cedar shakes on the side of the house that were missing from an old deck removal. He did a great job and cleaned up the worksite very nice. I was impressed with the speed. Again 5 stars. Jim himself came out for the ceiling work, he did a great job hooking up the electric and making sure the panels lined up to the existing grid. Again 5 stars. My only gripe was the billing, Their online system worked, but I think some deposits I made were just lost. Regardless they eventually took care of it... so updating my review to reflect this. Thank you, I for sure recommend them for contracting work, just double check the bills before paying. =)

I asked this remodeler over for a project: redo two small bathrooms (6ft by 9 ft each) a 4ft by…read more3ft dormer extension, do some work on a 3 Season porch to make it warmer (new windows and a mini split), and to rob some space from another bedroom to make into a closet. I was told in the initial meeting it's a $400k-$500k project. How? This makes abdolutely no sense. I was told the dormer (4ft by 3 ft) with the 2 bathroom redo's was $250k. Two 6ft by 9 ft bathrooms. Then the mini split (5 heads) and closet and 7 new doors and paint and other work would be another $150k plus. How? There is pricing for a margin and being greedy. This is just greedy. Hard pass and they should be embarrassed.
