Okay! I reallly like this place :) the lines can get long but come on it's only expected from a place such as this. The staff here are amazing!!! They literally allowed us to take pictures with Michael Jordan's trophies!! How cool are they for that ahaha and not to mention they have vegan/vegetarian options!! There is food literally everywhere. The inside is absolutely gorgeous with so much to see and do!! Let me not forget about the kids area they offer!!! As far as stadiums go, this is one of the better ones! I remember going here as a kid to see the 90s Bulls, and the quality has remained, but there are some annoyances that do too. One of the biggest problems is the security line. There aren't enough metal detectors, so there are long lines. This is annoying and feels like I'm at an airport, but it's even worse when it's 22 degrees F in November. This isn't to say I am mad that there are any lines - those are to be expected at a large event. But I noticed the heated tent for Uber rides and think it can't be too tricky to have some heating apparatus, even if nothing enclosed, for people in line? It was terrible. Speaking of security, be aware of bag size requirements! I am glad I thought about it and measured my bag to make sure it was OK. Otherwise I would have been turned away, and I saw that happen to some people. There weren't really any bathroom lines here, and the bathrooms were clean and comfortable. This is not always the case at a stadium! I also found the seats overall comfortable and with great sight lines. Being short, it's hard to find any seating at a large event that enables me to actually see things. But thank goodness for stadium seating! It didn't hurt that I had received 100 level tickets as a gift this time ;) but anyplace you sit, you are unlikely to have problems seeing the action. The food is not that good. From seeing my husband's food, the $9 deep dish was insulting in size and taste, and it was barely even sliced, so everything fell apart easily, and it looked like there wasn't even much sauce. The celebrity chef and/or fancier-than-usual outposts are not as good as they look, since everything is largely prefabricated and there are few options. However, the drinks are great, and they have more variety than in the old days of beer and more beer. I got a surprisingly reasonably priced vodka soda with pink lemonade vodka (it is OK to laugh at such a drink...I did, and it was my own!). The beer is often more overpriced. We were happy that, even on a busy night, the Uber tent was close to the stadium and well organized. You get to wait in a heated tent for the Uber, and there are many people working to ensure you know where specifically the driver is parked, because they don't want you to get cold...very nice! Does the Uber tent smell a tiny bit like horse poop? Yes. Was it warm while we waited for 2 minutes? Also yes! I'd happily go back to the United Center, but there are some headaches to be aware of, so it's not quite a 4 or 5 star experience. PS: The seats should have cupholders. Remember when we were champs, year after year?!? Northside, Southside, Westside - it didn't matter, because we were all united at the United Center. It was great coming here to see that dynasty, which seems like it's from a long, long time ago. But the positive memories of the Bulls remain. I take all of my out of town family members here, by request, because of the beloved Bulls. It's better than driving by Michael's old house in Highland Park. I also remember seeing Scottie right down the street from my old house in Skokie, his in-laws lived right down the street. It's a Nice facility with plenty of parking all around! I can imagine this place getting extremely busy when there are games. There's a store in here to get both Bulls and Blackhawks gear. There's also a Michael Jordan statue which we came here to see. What's interesting is this stadium is located in a not so great area of town...I'm sure they pushed a lot of residents out just to build. Nice arena where the workers are kind and helpful and the crowd isn't rowdy. Came to see a hockey game and honestly expected it to be a little more lively (we're from NYC so we're used to loud and passionate fans but I guess not here?) the drinks and food are kind of pricey but that's to be expected in every arena. I've been to Bulls games with family and friends over the years but this week we had a suite in the penthouse, compliments of one of my vendors! They even provided a parking pass which allowed me to pull into Lot K behind the building, and park literally steps from the door. Getting in and going through security back here made ne feel like a celebrity. After the quick bag check and body scan, I was on a private elevator up to the top. The suite itself was fully stocked with alcoholic as well as non alcoholic beverages, and the attendant told me if I didn't see what I wanted, to just ask her. There was a variety of snacks, caprese sandwiches, a huge salad, then the hot food bar which included Phill cheese steak and mini rolls, their amazing Mac & cheese, and a Chicago-style hotdog bar. The seats were so comfortable! There was nothing like lounging in a snug leather chair to watch the game. The dessert cart was brought in and it was unbelievable. So many choices and full portions! I settled on a slice of plain cheesecake, although they offered a variety of toppings. Later in the evening, the coffee bar came! That was icing on the cake for me. I ended my night with a cappuccino with Bailey's. I don't know when I'll experience this again, but it was definitely an enjoyable evening. read more

The "It Ain't Right Tour" Could Not Have Been More Wrong! I just witnessed the worst night of comedy in my life. Let me explain. I spent a small fortune for my wife and I to go see comedian Sebastian Maniscalco on Saturday night at the United Center. Tickets were $340. Uber rides up and back - about $110. Food and drinks - about $130. (not including tips). So we're in for something north of $600. My wife and I both love Sebastian, bought the tickets about a year ago, and have been looking forward to this a long time. Needless to say we were very excited to see him. We got there early, had some overpriced hot dogs, got some drinks, and found our seats with plenty of time to spare. After waiting patiently, they bring out the warm up comedian. He was on for about 20 minutes, and I thought he was quite funny. About 5-7 minutes in, I turned to my wife and said "I assume they are going to do something about this light." You see, there was a giant flood light above and to the right of the main stage, right next to the 2 large viewing monitors. This light was aimed in the general vicinity of our section, and was extremely bright. My wife commented that people were still coming in and finding their seats, and was sure they'd turn it off when Sebastian took the stage. That made sense to me. Well about 20 minutes later Sebastian was introduced and came out. The blinding light, however, did not go out. After a minute, two minutes, three minutes, my blood pressure started going up and I could feel the anger welling up inside me! They were NOT going to turn out this light. Now unless you were there, it might sound like I'm exaggerating. This light was very bright, shining directly at our section, and worst of all is that you could not see the monitors of Sebastian up close, which if you know him, make a big difference. His facial expressions alone are very important to his act, along with his body motions, and overall ability to not watch this tiny man on stage, but to also see a much larger version up close on the monitors. But you could not look at the monitors without getting blinded. The only way to see the monitors clearly was to put you hand above your eyes, as if you're shielding them from the sun. Please see the attached picture of the people in the row behind us doing just that. I've also attached several shots of the light itself, which looks very bright in the pictures, but was even more blinding in person. They NEVER turned out the light. People all around us (Section 308, Row 9) were murmuring and complaining under there breath. There was nothing we could do at this point. Although I tried my best to enjoy the show, the entire experience was ruined for both my wife and I. As mentioned, not being able to glance back and forth between the main stage and monitors really ruined the experience as much of Sebastian's comedy is expressed in his expressions and physicality. Sebastian, from what I heard, was very funny that night, as he always is. This is not his fault I'm sure, however, whoever is in charge of lighting and the venue should be held responsible for this insane set-up. I'm not even sure if the light was on intentionally, or not, and if so, what was its purpose. Bottom line is after spending over $600, my and my wife's night was basically ruined. United Center - you did not deliver a satisfactory experience. Ticketmaster - you also failed massively. Bottom line: It Ain't Right! Sebastian, you were very funny from what I remember and what I saw. Apparently I'll have to watch the Hulu taping of the show to get the whole experience. My sincere hope is that someone reads this and reaches out to make good on the experience that was promised, yet never delivered. I'll be reaching out directly to these venues as well and follow up on this post if and when they respond. I went to the United Center to see Suicide Boys, and I thought the show was great. However, the seating arrangements could have been more friendly to women of the curvy persuasion. I read somewhere the last remodel of the United Center was in the nineties, and it was incredibly uncomfortable for me to sit in. I'm not looking for special treatment as a patron; however, it would be nice if it were detailed so the seats in the stadium can't see everyone comfortably. I made do with the seats; however, I was comfortable for most of the show. I hope the seats in the venue get remodeled. Other than that, the music, environment, and fellow concertgoers were great. The Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks play here. They host many concerts which are very fun. There are many parking lots to park outside the stadium. I love coming to the United center. I'm a Michael Jordan fan. So maybe I'm a little bias because I remember what it was like when he played and then the D Rose era. My family and I had a great time. The bulls are not doing well so we where able to get cheap 100 level seating. The bulls loss the game of course. The Food The food was okay but for as much as it cost it should be excellent. They need to come up with $5.00 deals. Something like popcorn, nachos and a hot dog, $5.00 each. This will encourage more people with families to come to the games. It seems like about 1/2 of the stadium was full. The bathroom I was shocked that bathrooms were dirty. It was tissue and other stuff all on the floor of several stalls. They should have people checking the bathrooms to keep them clean. read more

I've been to multiple concerts by big-time stars since 2007 and all of them have been well organized and considering the location, and the superstars I've seen there, it's always been a relative breeze to get in and out. For this to be my first time at the United Center I really like the quick and efficiency while the doors open, my friend bought two drinks (Hennessy & Cranberry juice) + 2 waters.....all for a cost of $67.00 I felt that was a little over PRICED! Flying here twice before his royal Airness hung up his Air ... what kind of shoes are those?..., I was fortunate to watch two games on the club level, sitting near a few retired Chicago Bears defensive players. The lower bowl comprised of either loyal season ticket holders or, surprise surprise, a large contingent of Japanese tourists. The game was only okay as we all know that Michael and his cast made child's play of most teams including the Pistons with their emerging star Grant Hill at that time. Besides taking pictures of and with the famed Jordan statue in front of the building, we walked the main concourse to get a full grasp of the venue. Walking by the life size Luc Longley poster and a random smattering of Love a 'Bulls' girls picture opps, we walked directly to their souvenir store. With the long lines and limited selection, we didn't buy anything, but the most impressive sight can be found here... a trophy case with their, at that time, five NBA championship trophies. Haven't been here since those days and the new Derrick Rose era... not sure what era we're in now other than shelter in place, events wise. When time and lifestyle allows, I hope to make a visit here again as well as catching nine at Wrigley. A few years ago, some friends enjoyed Stevie Wonder's Songs In the Key of Life tour stop here. Would have loved to catch that one here. Very thankful in being fortunate enough to stop by this shrine of an arena before that #23 guy hung up his ... what are the name of those shoes again?! Great auditorium! We had seen Madonna here previously and this time I brought my 13 year old daughter for Panic at the Disco. I am sure this is a training issue and I am going to leave it at that. For his particular band, fans are encouraged to bring gay pride flags. My daughter got to the check in gates and had me hold it in my purse for her. I gladly gave over my purse to be searched and they discovered the flag. The young attendant said I wouldn't be able to take it in. At that point we had seen dozens of people with their flags. My daughter was starting to panic when another gate attendant came over and saw my daughter visibly upset and told her she could take it in. We were soon on our way and saw many kids with the same flag. On a side note: Don't plan on eating or drinking when at this venue. $12.50 for a beer or mixed drink? $8.00 for nachos? $7.00 for a soda. The prices were insane! read more

I wanted to see a Chicago Blackhawks on their amphitheater and i wasn't disapointed ! Blackhawks played a good game even if they doesn't do playoffs this year like habs Lol I found a good ticket the same day on ticketmaster for 75 usd in 200 rows (less expensive than any game at Bell center !). It was a good games against san jose Sharks, and even if they didn't won they went in overtime and lose in shootout 4-3. I talked to the guys beside me who were real Blackhawks fans and the called me habs fan, i had fun ! I had fun and the mood was good even if the dawn taxi charged me fix rate of 40$ to come back when it cost 13$ usually ! But as the guy was nice ( he looks like a younger Apu from The Simpsons) and wants to live in Canada in the future cause everybody have a chance here ! So its was a nice way to end the night. I even won a t-shirt they shoot in crown Lol Je voulais voir les blackhawks sur leurs patinoire et je n'ai pas été déçu. Ils ont bien joués même si ils ne font pas les séries comme le Canadien cette année. Unbelievable how many people were made to go back into the cold and walk around the entire arena to find the right gate. Including us!! We parked in the handicap lot G. The closest gate is 7. We too walked nearly all the way around to gate 3. Doesn't make sense that even the handicap lot G people couldn't use the nearest entrance. No more United Center events for us. I was sending Roger Federer Instagram posts everyday to my friend during Laver cup and wondered why we never get to see such celebrities at Millenium Park, we go there more than the tourists!! Luckily, my friend's company gave him two box seats to Laver cup and we were able to go. The tennis match space was amazing. Well lit, big screens and I loved the string camera in action. It was amazing to see Roger Federer and Djokovich from this close. One of my most memorable afternoons. Laver cup is Europe vs. rest of the world. European Alexander Zverev played American John Fraser and the crowd went bonkers every time Fraser won a point, but Zverev bounced and won the match. Roger Federer was up against an Australian who he defeated in straight sets with his graceful backhand. Love that guy! read more

BULLS ON PARADE Home to Chicago's NBA and NHL teams, the "Madhouse on Madison" is quite a venue. Over the years, I've been to a fair number of events at the United Center, among those a viewing party for game #4 of the White Sox' 2005 world series run, a KISS concert, a couple Blackhawks games......and most recently, a chance to see the Bulls in action. With my girlfriend's brother Alex C in town, our trio saw the Da Bulls face the Charlotte Hornets on 11/17/17. Although not *quite* as accessible as either of Chicago's baseball stadiums, public transport is still a viable option for those taking the CTA (green or pink lines). Parking is nearby, but it'll run you upwards of $20, which I suppose isn't all that bad when you consider the sheer buttf*ckery of having to pay FIFTY dollars at Soldier Field. The attendants were chill; I gave one of the dudes a beer and he was very appreciative :) #drinkingonthejob Getting through the ticket gates took a while, as security had plenty of pat-downs for fans wearing heavy winter jackets. Once inside we headed upstairs to our section and walked past plenty of food & drink stands. As you might imagine, booze prices are high -- roughly the same as @ Sox Park. A large draft beer is $10-12 depending on whether it's domestic swill or premium craft/imported. Wine is a smidge more than that, and they've got those big plastic tubes filled with your choice of mixed drink. Be prepared to wait in hella long lines, though. We got an order of pulled pork nachos that cost god knows what ($11?) Apart from being pretty basic, they were tasty. Other concession stands had a better variety of food, and those in the Lexus club level get really pampered with a friggin' dessert cart! Seats at the UC range from nosebleeds (dear god is it STEEP up there) to crazy-expensive courtside on the ground floor. Regardless, there's no obstructed view nonsense like at that fratboy dump Wrigley Field, and the concourses are maintained nicely. Staff were friendly and helpful, we never once had a problem. I'm penning a separate review for the Bulls themselves, but I'll briefly comment that the atmosphere was WONDERFUL and all the entertainment during timeouts/between periods had me smiling from ear-to-ear. * TL;DR * Despite a max capacity of only 23,500 people, the United Center is a solid indoor sporting arena. For Chicago's basketball and hockey teams -- and for thousands of fans in the Windy City -- this is home. Go Hawks. Go Bulls. And as always, f*ck the Cubs. read more

I came here to watch the Hawks leading into my birthday week. I had planned to go to Detroit to watch da Bears but that didn't work out. I try to get to United Center at least once a year for Hawks or Bulls and swag if their record is not great ;) Today the Hawks had 'Hockey Fights Cancer' hats, a baseball cap with a purple bill. United Center runs out of swag VERY early so we were anxious about getting there for the hats; we arrived at 3:45 for the 5pm start time on Sunday, and it was fine, there were plenty of hats. The food and drinks are overpriced but the variety is good, not just Bud Light or Miller beer. I got a bratwurst, fries (to share) and winter ale (sorry I forget which but it was dark and coffeelike). The Hawks won which was awesome, but also there was much emotion watching Eddie Olczyk (retired Hawk)and kids with cancer take to the ice. Our city loves to honor veterans at all our sports events, so I look forward to giving a standing o to the veterans who are invited and recognized. read more

Definitely not a Blackhawks fan but this is a pretty nice arena. First the bad stuff....it's not close to transit. You can take a bus from downtown or take the elevated train and then walk about 15 minutes (which a lot of people do) but it doesn't make sense to me that this place encourages people to drive. Enough negativity...once you get in, it's easy to get around, the concourses are wide, the fans are great and the sightlines are very good, even if you don't have floor seats. I've been to a lot of arenas and I will say that this is the toughest, most expensive ticket to get, especially if you are seeing them when they're coming off a Stanley Cup. Now the arena is over 20 years old and it's showing its age and when you compare it to a newer place like PPG Paints Arena, it looks a little run down, but it's still a nice place. Have to ding it for being so far away from mass transit but I'll give this some grudging props. read more

It was a pretty fun arena to visit! I went to Chicago for the weekend with my mom few weeks ago and decided spontaneously to see a Chicago Bulls game and that weekend they played the Houston Rockets which was pretty exciting! The arena looked super clean and spacious! There's a giant MJ statue in the middle which you can take pictures in front of which everyone was doing. It's pretty cool to see another team's arena for a change! Anyways, I didn't get to try the food there unfortunately since we ate beforehand but they have tons of variety of restaurants for you to visit along with alcohol stands! If you're ever in Chicago for a vacation, definitely catch a game here and visit this stadium! read more
