The other kids seem nice, too, as do the other parents. Has great energy and we love the Montessori approach and that was the main reason we chose this school. They also have a great early-care and after-care program which is helpful. Our son is always very happy to go to school and it seems like he has a great time there. We love it! OH- almost forgot! One of the BEST parts is that they have a wonderful meal program! We are vegan and they have awesome, healthy menu options. Everyone should get out there and try this unique art form, whether you feel like you're a creative or not! A friend and I booked small rug classes for a Sunday evening, and arrived a few minutes early to find we were sharing the space with just two other pairs. Casey (part-owner and tufting extraordinaire) led us through the entire tufting process, from design selection to mastering the tufting gun and cutting out and shaving the finished rug. I went with a tomato pattern, and had so much fun picking out what colors I wanted to use from their massive yarn wall. The actual tufting is pretty intuitive once you get the hang of it ... it's just finding the right pressure to make the power tool do what you want them to do. This could absolutely be a fun solo activity, but I do recommend going with a partner or a friend for your first visit. It's fun to cheer each other on and watch how each other's projects are coming to life. I've hung my creation on the wall in my kitchen, and cannot wait to come back again soon and do an even larger pattern next time. I also might want to buy my own tufting gear? They typically needed to practice speaking and reading English and were highly motivated. Some students were Nashvillians who were now retired from long careers doing manual labor jobs who hadn't learned to read in school. They were highly motivated also and a pleasure to work with. So many interesting stories! Highly recommend this well-run program to all.

They look as if they are still in the 1800s. I am sure the State of Tennessee and our federal government has kept these once beautiful and thriving HBCUS campuses from receiving the necessary funds to keep both universities from serving the community and past, present and future students. These campuses are a sore eye. I visited the Andrew Jackson Heritage Estate (Plantation) and was VERY ANGRY that the very land that many African American slaves were sold, born, slaughtered and raped was still being preserved. Money is still being made here and the wealth is not being distributed. A huge percentage of each ticket bought should go to the restoration and presentation and preservation of Fisk University and the shared medical university. Read the history of Andrew Jackson. It is very disheartening. NASHVILLE TENNESSEE AND UNITED STATES, I AM SHAKING MY HEAD, BOTH ANGRY AND DISAPPOINTED. THE STUDENTS, COMMUNITY AND BOTH CAMPUSES DESERVE BETTER.
