I have absolutely never had a bad nail experience my friend and I went in there because I had to take the car to Galt to get some work done on it. So while we were waiting we saw the salon and decided to go and get our nails done. They took us in right away. He did not speak very good English it was hard to communicate. During the treatment I noticed that the majority of the tools that they were using were not clean nor sanitize. I bled a couple of times during the nail session. And my nails are thicker than turtle shells uneven I am thoroughly disappointed I wouldn't send my worst enemy there. Trying to communicate what you want or that you don't want to pay because your service was terrible with somebody who speaks no English makes it impossible. So basically I had to pay for males regardless if I'm happy or not with them because they pretended or they just didn't understand a word I was saying. The moral of the story is that they did a terrible job my nails are uneven they bled and they were so sick and I had to pay because if I didn't pay and just walked out and I couldn't go to jail so I'm stuck with some terrible looking nails and I am very unhappy. read more

I live in Galt and had not been anywhere for a pedicure or manicure (pandemic) until about 3 months ago. I went to another salon and the service was good. I decided to go back to United Nails today as i used to go there pre pandemic. I read some negative reviews on Yelp but decided to go back anyway. I typically get a manicure and pedicure (not into fake nails not that anything is wrong with them just not for me) and like to get the buff shine with no polish. compared to the other salon the manicure and shine was by far-better than the other salon. the pedicure as well and this was my first experience with gel polish application. the nails look amazing and the massage and whole experience had my feet and hands looking and feeling better than they have in a long time. VERY IRRITATED & DISAPPOINTED!! I'd like to give them ZERO stars!! I've been getting my nails done for 20yrs now. This is my 2nd time coming to this salon. Which was a HUGE mistake. Both of my visits Tammy has done my nails. I just needed a backfill. From the start she didn't listen to what I was requesting. I told her the length requested and shape. As she's doing my nails I notice that the index finger is completely crooked, I explain this to her nicely. She just ignores what I'm saying and says "I'm not done yet", after repeatedly telling her it's crooked she continues to tell me she's not done yet. At this point I'm incredibly frustrated. I tell her the only way for her to even fix it at this point is to redo the acrylic on that finger. But, she continues to ignore me and says "I'm not done yet". She continues filing my nails and asking if they're ok, I keep telling her "NO they're not ok". As she's filing and drilling the whole time she cut me 3 times. My cuticles weren't pushed up properly and it makes my nails that just got done look like I've had them for days!! She filed both of my thumbs so short that you can see the skin behind. My nails are so sloppily done, she couldn't even file them straight. I had to file 2 of them myself to make them straight. I said "you're the professional, I shouldn't have to tell you that they're crooked and how to do your job". I had this same problem months ago when she did my nails. She cut me 5 times that visit. I asked for the manager and he wasn't in today. I'm beyond frustrated and upset. When she finished she sprayed alcohol on my fingers and directly into all the cuts she gave me. I didn't feel like it was sanitary and her hands looked dirty. I will NOT ever go back!! I have a regular nail place. I just needed something local today. read more

The caterpillar's above my eyes were telling me they needed help. So I went to this place... unfortunately my eyebrows aren't looking too great. The mani-pedi was on sale, free mani with spa pedi ($30). I can't say my manicure looks great, in fact there are very visible pieces of cuticle hanging around. The pedi...well I can't see that far..well looking closer it looks not too good either. As for service however, the ladies were nice and did not seem to be talking about me. She also did a hot stone rub on my feet. Then she massaged my shoulders during my manicure and rubbed a hot stone on my back (I kinda didn't feel it because I had my hoodie on but the thought counts). I asked for short natural acrylic nails the lady did not know how to do them and started to do a two-tone pink and white I said no that's not what I want and had to show her again and again what I wanted she said OK I will try. She ended up doing a really messy job cut me a few times and still didn't leave me wanting what I asked for. She didn't line up my nails to make sure they were all the same size & didn't trim my cuticles. When I asked her to fix it at the end because my nails were not the same length she said next time I go she would fix them? I'll for sure never return. read more

I would give them 0 stars if I could. I am so disappointed right now. This is ridiculous. If you are wanting a Brazilian wax DO NOT COME HERE! I'm literally writing this review as I'm walking out. Just because they offer waxing they think the can do it all. I wasted an hour of my life getting a "Brazilian" wax done and on top of that paid a ridiculous amount for something that was FAR from a Brazilian wax. Pretty sure when you go to get a wax you don't get trimmed with scissors and not waxed and say "it's better for your skin" what ever you I repeat DO NOT GO HERE FOR A WAX or even nails. They aren't that clean. smh. I wish I went back to get a refund. My skin was so irritated after her attempt to wax me. And the worst part is I had to tell her to stop because it was getting so ridiculous. I arrived just a little late and sat there for 20 minutes before I asked "how much longer Tammy" she responded 20 more minutes, i explained it was my Birthday and I had a flight soon. No consideration to start soaking my feet or apology. I have been patronizing this nail salon for 14 years off and on, but I have a choice and they will never get another dime from me! I hate to say it but if I could do zero stars I would -I just sat there for almost an hour and I left without my nails being done. Had two different people try to do a gel French manicure, the lady started, first of all not cutting anything off my cuticles, waving the appliance around the edge of my nails and somehow managed to poke me even though she wasn't cutting anything off. She didn't apply the clear coat (which was so thin) even close to anywhere around the edges of my nails, just in the center and it was all lumpy, she started to put on the white, for the French, and it is not a nice clean crisp line, it is wavy and just completely unacceptable. She gets upset with me because I'm not happy. The man comes over and says that he's going to do my nails. I asked him just to take everything off and I was going to go, he says no I'll do them for you "will make it right". He did basically the same thing. I hate to say this but they have no business doing French tips. I am particular in terms of wanting a nice crisp white line between the pink and the white, but I think if you can't do that you shouldn't be offering the service. I asked him to remove everything, he was not happy - he took the file and ruffed up the center of each nail, cleaned them off with a little acetone - and told me goodbye. My nails look horrible, like I drug them along the concrete - so I get to leave them this way until next week when I go to work and go to my normal salon. DO NOT GO HERE FOR A FRENCH GEL MANICURE!!!! The worst nail salon I've ever been to. My sister and I went in for a manicure and pedicure about 15 minutes after they "opened" and the door was locked. We called the number and a lady answered and said they don't open until 10. That was fine and we just waited the extra 10 minutes. However, no one showed up until 10:15 which was 45 minutes after they were supposed to be opened. The pedicure was great and I enjoyed it. However, when we moved onto the manicure, it was absolutely horrible. She filed my skin so much that she broke skin and made me bleed on three different fingers. It was so painful and I had to ask her to be a little more careful. And then, two other customers came in during our manicure and because there were no other people working, they started rushing and doing an even worse job. She also missed a bunch of spots that I couldn't tell she missed until it was too late. If I could give them a 0 star rating, I would. DO NOT GO HERE FOR A MANICURE!!!! read more

I would give no stars if that was an option. I went in to get my acrylics removed on my nails and toes and it clearly says that service is $10, so with both that should be $20. Tammy the woman working insisted it would be $35. I didn't add clear coat or anything besides the removal yet she charged me $15 dollars too much and tried to justify that by saying she buffed my nails....which still makes no sense. I have never left a yelp review and was nothing but polite and was met with the opposite. I would like to be refunded the money that was taken from me but I am urging anyone reading this to reconsider going to this shop. **HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF - TAMMY IS HORRIBLE!** I am beyond livid with this nail salon. I had been in search for a new place to get my nails done in Galt that was close to home so I decided to give United Nails a try. On this particular day I was taking my mother for a pedicure and manicure as well as I needed a fill and pedicure. This is how the experience went... My mother was taken right to the pedi chair and one of the ladies began right away, me on the other hand was told to sit down and shortly after I was joined by tech Tammy. As I was sitting there waiting to start she proceed to text on her cell phone right in front of me and no exaggeration, at least 5 mins. No welcoming hello, or I will be right with you, she just looked down at her phone. I almost said forget it, at that time, but figured my mother was already in the process and thought maybe Tammy had something going on. As she worked on my nails, she would look up and not focus and would use the file drill extremely fast (I could tell she was not paying attention) this resulted in 3, yes 3 cuts on my fingers and she kept burning my nail beds with the heat of the file! I kept telling her and she stopped for a second and proceeded on, not changing her speed. After all was done, I wanted a color change on my toes only and she said that the pedicure was only $10 more total of $20 so I said ok. I did ask her for gel on my toes so I knew it will cost a little more. The pedicure had to be one of the quickest, laziest pedicures I have ever had. I didn't say anything because it was only $20. But wait...was it only $20...I will breakdown the prices here in a minute, but let me tell you, I felt like my mother and I were ambushed when we were done with the prices! For my fill, Tammy quoted $25 when I began, I got Gel color and she charged me an additional $10, total $35 (ok not so bad, but what is funny is she said that was a deal...um no!). My $20.00 pedicure turned into a $35.00 pedicure and when I confronted her about it she said that was for a "basic pedicure" I told her I didn't ask for anything other than the $20 one she mentioned and there was nothing extra with what she did, I did get Gel nail nail polish, but is that $15? She and the other lady started getting defensive and making up all sorts of things to justify the $15 hike, by this time I could tell my Mom was getting a little flustered (Mind you my step father passed away 1 week prior to this and this was something she was looking forward to) So I pulled back, only for them to then say her "basic" mani and pedi was $60!! What the hell! They didn't even soak her fingers at all. $30 each? She did get Gel, but never in my life have I ever been so over charged! The last straw was when I was disputing the charges the lady that helped my mother took advantage her and the $10 tip that was to be split between the 2 (and I told her that, Tammy was not going to get a tip at all), she took all to herself and quickly walked away. I told the lady it was to be split (only because Tammy was standing there and my Mom didn't know the experience I had yet) . Due to my Mom being so flustered, she didn't know what to say and without me knowing until we left, she gave Tammy a $10 tip too! I was pissed that they took advantage of us in that way. I look back and I am beyond angry! Oh and by the way, I have 3 nails already lifting and its been 3 days! I am a regular, I come here mostly to get a pedi. Everyone is very nice always. But I seem to experience inconstant quality. If they get busy and people are waiting you most likely will get a quick job to get you out of the chair, however you will pay the same as if they aren't busy and they do a quality job. I continue to come here anyway but if they are reading these reviews maybe they will see it's not worth a customer paying for a quick rushed job 2 out of 5 times just a little annoying. read more

Update: I was completely wrong, I went in today for a full set and was extremely disappointed. 1. I felt scammed because none of the things she was charging me for was located on the menu list. 2. Was extremely rough, cup my skin AND slightly tore my index finger nail, which caused for a very painful experience when all the powders and oils were put in it. I used to think this place had lack of customers because it's a small store located in a small town, but after going in today it seems as if their lack of business is due to their lack of a quality experience. The salon is beautiful, they have quality tools and equipment so none of the is the issue, simply just the way they decided to do things there. I am thoroughly convinced if they weren't so rough and actually TOOK THE TIME to make sure the nails they do are EVEN, SMOOTH, and most importantly NOT PAINFUL, this place would have more returning clients, but i can surely say I will NEVER go back here again read more

Well to start the lady I saw was so sweet and willing to let me come in on short notice. I loved their prices as I paid $25 for a full painted set of gel nails. Also the entire time I was there no one seemed to be talking behind my back as they only spoke English around customers. However with that being said the place was very dirty. When I first walked in she was clipping her own toe nails and left a pile of them on the table and only threw them away and washed her hands when I requested she do so. I have friends that go there and while most of them like it (I'm sure because of the prices) one ended up getting a fungus under her nails. So I'm starting to feel like paying a few extra bucks is worth not having to visit a doctor. read more

Would like to give ZERO stars but you can't. I became a customer of this place back when it open, always great service back then. I moved out of the area in 2008 and moved back to the vicinity and drive through Galt to get home, so I decided to come back. First appointment was awesome, the guy gave me my pedicure, foot rub, hot stone, hot wax, BOTH legs wrapped in hot towels, you name it I got it. Went in the other day and had the misfortune of getting Kim. No foot massage, she got the hot stones and went tap, tap down the outsides of my legs, she did not rub them like she should have, then she took the bags of hot wax and did the same thing before putting them on my feet, draped one towel across both legs, no oil or lotion was put on my legs. She kept asking me if I wanted a design, had to tell her four times NO, then when I tried to pay she begging me for a tip. I told her to charge my card for the service only NO TIP, this went back and forth a few times, then she says if you don't add tip now you cannot add tip to the card later. WHY would I tip for crappy service? I agree with one of the other reviewers, when they get busy (this has been going on from the day they opened) when they get busy they rush you through so they can get to the next customer, a Spa pedicure will be done in under 20 minutes. I'm in the process of looking for a new shop in Lodi now, means I have to drive another 20 minutes down the freeway and double back to get home to get home but I will not pay for crappy service. read more

Try the Gel manicure the color stays on like it does on false nails and keeps your nails strong! I have gotten gel nail polish at other salons but it always comes out best at United. My Mom lives in El Dorado and always gets her nails done when she visits because other salons seem to skimp on the top coat so you have to go back sooner. My nails last 3-4 weeks and keeps my nails from getting jagged edges which I love. I have two little ones and work full time so getting to the salon is tricky and usually last minute around naps but Tami is super sweet and has even stayed 2 hrs late for me before! I have been coming here for years, and Tammy and her staff always go out of their way to provide excellent and prompt service. For years I used to just drop in for regular pedicures, and they always found a way to accommodate me...unlike the neighboring nail salon that pretend they can take you and just put you in a chair and tub of water and then keep you waiting for an hour to keep you from leaving. Now that I do both pedicures and manicures, I always call ahead, and Tammy always makes sure she's available according to MY schedule. Much appreciated, and she always does a very nice job! Oh, and NEWS FLASH...the salon just recently purchased all new chairs, including the massage chairs, and new work stations. Everything looks so nice, and the chairs are so comfortable! read more

I lstarted going to this place 2 years ago and love it. The staff are always very friendly and accommodating. Tammy does my mani/pedi regularly but I have had all of the staff at one time or another. The go above and beyond to make it a relaxing, enjoyable experience. I look forward to my time for me. The neck and shoulder massage with the hot rock included in the spa mani/pedi is Awesome. It is the final touch. Yes, there has been a time or two in the 2 years where they have not had the time to spend extra attention on me but that is bound to happen. They always do my nails the way I ask. The French manicure is my favorite. They have lots of colors to choose from. I get the gel nail color and it lasts me 2-4 weeks. With the clear in the French I can push it off to 4 weeks if I need too. If I ever have a problem with a color coat lifting, I go back in and they fix it for free. I appreciate their flexibility in getting me in whenever I need it and sometimes at the last minute. Great Place. read more

Went back for another 'fill' and was very pleased with the results...I used to have my nails done every 2 weeks, and at another place, but had chips or breakage before the next one. I've been going to United Nails for quite awhile now and have NEVER had a chipped nail..the gelish polish is amazing, plus the way Tammy preps your nails makes it last and last...3 weeks or more, even while on vacation. As always, the cleanliness of the place impresses me, but it promises to get even better! New massage chairs and station chairs will be coming in April...I can hardly wait for my next pedi! read more
