I had a very disappointing experience with United Plumbing. Dylan showed up about 45 minutes early for my scheduled appointment, looked at the issue, and then said he couldn't fix it today because he "didn't have time" and had another appointment. What makes this even more frustrating is that their shop is only about 3.2 miles from my door, and he was already there well before the actual appointment time. Instead of making an effort to help or offering a real solution, it felt like he simply did not want to do the job that day. Very unprofessional experience. Run, don't walk, away from UPC -- they are an absolute nightmare. I was forced to use them through Homeserve to address an exterior water service line issue, and what followed was nothing short of a disaster. After multiple technicians came out, each contradicting the other, the problem was only partially fixed. Then, over the phone, they claimed the issue was inside my house, so they sent someone else a week later who did a "diagnostic" and told me it was still an outside problem. A whole week wasted, again. When I finally got a hold of someone who seemed to have half a clue, they tried to reschedule AGAIN. I had to demand they come out that day -- and surprise, after 10 minutes of digging in my backyard, they "fixed" the problem. Or so I thought. To make matters worse, they CUT THE POWER LINE TO MY GARAGE during the repair -- and didn't even have the decency to inform me. They just reburied it like it was no big deal. The level of incompetence and complete disregard for damage they caused is staggering. Their crews have zero integrity. After doing all this, they handed me a phone with a signature box, saying I needed to sign off that the work was complete. They didn't mention that I was actually signing a waiver absolving them of any responsibility for the damage they just caused. Nice. The "outside" guy they sent had no clue what he was doing. He didn't even bother to tell me what had been done before burying everything and leaving without a word. Honestly, if you're unlucky enough to be stuck with UPC, you're better off watching a YouTube tutorial and fixing the problem yourself -- at least then you won't be left with more issues and a gaping hole in your backyard. Save yourself the time, money, and headache. If you need any outside work done, steer far clear of these clowns. read more

United Plumbing was called by Homeserve to fix a leak in my exterior water service line. The first technician determined I had a leak in the line and said "we'll take it from here". He arranged to have the utilities marked. A week or more later, the second crew came out and didn't do anything because it was a Friday afternoon and they seemed to want to just go enjoy the weekend. They said "the leak is on the Water Company's side", which was a lie and contradicted the first technician. My meter is registering 9,000 gallons a day from the leak. A week later a third technician came out after I called and said "the line from the meter that goes under the sidewalk and one foot further to your house is also the responsibility of the Water Company", also a lie. He and his partner left because they didn't want to work in the rain. If the second technician had done what he was supposed to do, they would have been able to fix it in perfect weather. I have the ticket from the Louisville Water Company on 9/19/25 by J Berry which states: "Found leak on customer private side". If you want something fixed, don't use United. They don't seem to like to do anything except answer a ticket without doing any work to get paid for doing nothing. read more

I totally agree with Bruce R. In the past I have had great service and when my sewer line backed up, I requested United. They were not able to clear after an hour plus work and after that, I have the same story as Bruce. Next step was to get gas and water lines marked and start digging. The lady answering the phone definitely needs the Dale Carnegie course!!! I called Home Serve and asked for a different plumber and they arrived and had the problem fixed in under 30 minutes. Since Dennis is no longer in the field, I will not use the company again. read more

We've used this company in the past, and they did a good job. Not so this time. The workers didn't even try to clear the drain blockage before deciding digging up our yard was the way to go. This required utilities to be marked, even though the sewer line is the only utility in the rear of our house. I called them, and the lady I spoke with has a listening issue and needs a Dale Carnegie course. Very rude. I called someone else and they had the problem fixed in less than an hour using a snake. I have what you call a "problem sink" in my kitchen. It has gotten clogged before and did again when a friend emptied greasy food down it. A team of professionals, from United Plumbing, came out and not only unstopped it, but gave me the confidence in their quality service by attacking this issue from the lower drain line, snaked it multiple times and even sent a camera scope all the way to the street sewer line. These service providers were not only experienced and knowledgeable, but they were friendly, courteous and took care to keep my house clean. I would never recommend this place. I will never use this place. Drivers in company vans should know that they are representing the company. And when you're an a-hole driver, that reflects poorly on the company. Van 16 I think from the sticker on the back. Two jerks that have no driving courtesy. Their truck bellowed massive clouds of black smoke as they raced in and out of cars speeding. So... if I ever need a plumber... it won't be a place that employed people like that and uses trucks that pollute the air so much. read more

I've had a lot of problems when booking appointments because some how they act like I never booked one???? So when you call them directly make sure you call them the next day because they probably forgot about your existence and they still don't have an appointment schedule for you when they gave you a date and time frame that they will be there. Yaaaaaaay!!!! Also this won't happened to you just one or two or three times but several time. United Plumbing was "assigned" to fix my water line leak when I called in my line warranty for a broken water line. Although I would give the men performing the repair a 4-5 star rating, as they were very courteous and professional, I would give the "completion" of the job a 1-star. My lawn was a torn up mess. After calling them to repair the lawn, which was supposed to involve leveling and re-seeding, I'm left with a rocky, lumpy yard with patches of grass. I called to ask for them to fix it properly, and was told that they are only required to level (as best they can) and re-seed. I will now be renting a tiller and re-seeding the yard myself. read more

I was very disappointed with this company. After putting in a request for service by my home warranty company, and not hearing from them for 2 days, I had to call them directly. They put me off 2 more days and then I was given a 3 hour window for them to arrive. At the last minute on a Friday afternoon at 5:00 the tech arrived. He took some pics of my water heater and told the home warranty company that the problem was probably pre-existing which it was not. When I told him it was not pre-existing he became very rude and said I could take it up with the home warranty company but that they wouldn't reverse their decision. He then told me a new water heater would cost over $2000. Really.... $2000 for a new water heater that should be covered by my home warranty. He then asked me to pay a service call of $75 which I refused. He yelled at me "FINE THEY WILL JUST BILL YOU! What crooks this company is! read more
