I recently had my debit card compromised and it takes a week to 10 days to get a new one. Why? Who can wait that long? They could not expedite it because my phone number changed just today! Then, when I got ready to retire a year ago, I paid off all my debts; car, house, credit cards etc. I did not realize that having NO debt would drop my credit rating like it did. Chase initially DECLINED to give me a credit card to rebuild my credit until my banker vouched for me telling them I had a high balance in my checking account every month since I had been a customer for 4 yrs. They gave me a $500 limit. A year later (never been late and paid full balance each month) they increased it to $700. Really????? You would think it was THEIR money instead of MY money in the bank. The first few months with them was hell. They declined my purchases right and left. When I called, they explained that they were getting used to my purchasing habits. They wear me out with their nonsense. Time to change banks.....
