Plus, I have to rush to get there at 12 to grab a lounge chair. Members are ignorant just grabbing chairs and pushing them wherever they want. They don't even bother to ask if they are being used. After adult swim, around 1:00, all hell breaks loose and the kids jump in. I saw a kid with a diaper that looked "full" jump in my last time there and that was my sign to leave. Public pools are just gross. To pay $130 for the season to deal with all this isn't worth it. The only thing that is decent is the parking. Plenty of spots to choose and it's free! I wish they had a pool for adults only, then I would consider rejoining next year. Note to all newbies: members only from 12-1. I didn't see any signs saying this anywhere.

There is a small parking lot at the base of the overlook on Hilt Road. At the base there is a picnic bench and a port-a-blaster along with some literature about York County parks/area trails. From there it's up and around the trail which is a 1/2 mile loop with five way point stops that I guess are made to have you appreciate the view from different angles? At the top the view is very nice. It's literally the same as if you were over at Samuel S. Lewis State Park except that now you're two-ish miles closer to the river. The overlook from Samuel S. Lewis is higher and is visible from here and the top of the vista here is very visible from Sam Lewis. We were here around 35 minutes and the parking lot was packed but people were at different point of the incline and on other trails nearby so things never felt cramped or rushed. While I'm not necessarily sure that this place needs a return visit, I'm glad we came and I appreciate David putting this one on my/everyone's Yelp radar as it is a unique spot worth a brief stop.

This place is just fun. Good for pretty much all occasions. Check the weather before making plans. Arrive early and if you have gloves, make sure you bring yourself a pair. Our group got caught in the trees while an electrical storm began to approach. Staff acted quickly to shut the adventures down and assisted us through the last obstacle and onto the zip line so we could escape the approaching storm. Staff stayed with us in the swaying trees and constantly reassured us that we would be okay, she wouldn't leave us and we would make it down safely. Staff stayed in constant communication with each other via walkie talkies. Prior to even getting up into the trees, there a quick review on safety precautions and how to secure yourself to the cables. There was always a staff member at each obstacle to remind those who continued to forget. We came for a child's birthday party and she and her friends really enjoyed themselves.

Washington Crossing Historic Park is more than 500 acres, and it has several sections.) The Thompson-Neely Section includes the Thompson-Neely Bridge, the Thompson-Neely House, the Thompson-Neely Grist Mill, and a memorial cemetery (graves of Washington Crossing soldiers). The Thompson-Neely House and grounds served as an encampment site for part of the Continental Army in December 1776. So there's a lot of history here, and you can walk along the Delaware Canal Towpath to each of the sites in this section. It's perhaps not as organized as the main section of the park; there's no visitor center in this section, but it's not too complicated - there's parking near the General Sullivan Pavilion and the house and grist mill, and then you can wander to each of the sites. (I don't recall a map of the section anywhere, but each site is on Google Maps, and that's what I used to make my way between them.) I was at the park in the late afternoon, and I don't think the house or grist mill was open, but I enjoyed walking along the towpath to the memorial cemetery, the bridge, and to see the exterior of the house and grist mill. New Hope has a lot to offer, but Washington Crossing Historical Park is great to include on your itinerary for exploring the area if you want to take in a little local/regional/American history!

Led…read moreby George Washington, they braved the rough Delaware River to land at Johnson's Ferry in NJ and march on to victory against the British. Operated by the Friends of Washington Crossing, my partner and I visited the site on the PA side this morning where their departure was preserved at Washington Crossing Historic Park. Reservation was easily made yesterday on their website for the 10:30am tour. Between the Upper Section that has the Thompson-Neely House and Revolutionary War Soldier's grave. The Lower Section has the Visitor Center and the Old Village right at the site of the crossing. This encompasses 500 acres, which represents much more than a single event. Upon arrival, we had time to walk around the perimeter of the Visitor Center. When the building opened at 10am, we entered and were greeted by the staff. Inside had a wonderful auditorium and exhibit hall that featured the canon Marquis de Lafayette gave to the Continental Army. Our tour started by watching a short film about the history of the crossing. We further followed our tour guide David Price outside to the large white barn to view a Durham boat, similar to what George and his men used during the crossing. He led us along the Delaware River among the fall foliage to talk about the war leading up to and following the December 26 Battle of Trenton. He was able to make history come alive for us at $7 per person. The park also has wonderful historical homes but were closed while we were there. It's an ideal spot for picnicking, hiking, and bird watching. The well-maintained trails and scenic overlooks allow visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. They do reenactments of the crossing on Christmas Day and one earlier in December. It's recommended to check their website. It's a remarkable place offering a unique blend of American history and natural beauty, making it a must-visit destination for history buffs and nature lovers alike, which we can recommend.

The other issue is the location of handicapped parking. The only parking place is designated for handicapped parking are located quite a distance from the docking area, and it makes it hard to get close without being dropped off and then going back to get the car later. There are however, handicap spaces marked for trucks or cars with trailers, which are located very close to the docking area, but none designated for just vehicles with handicapped placards.

They go in once and don't go back in again. My son was cursed at by older boys who appeared beyond the age guidelines (and I was surprised to see them still interested in a playground). In the myopic darkness of the castle, my son banged his head when inside the dank structure there was suddenly an unmarked (unlit) drastic change in ceiling height. Needless to say this experience was a turn off. Most kids really preferred being out in daylight because the castle felt more like a dungeon. It was fun to see friends and we enjoyed the togetherness of the play date but unless I'm in the area and desperate for a kid distraction, I won't be back.

I love the fact that the restrooms use hand dryers instead of paper towels considering the fact that this is a park. I just wish all those trees weren't cut down to build a bigger parking lot, because before they were, the playground was much more shady.
