Only rating for the mini-golf course. The baseball and soccer facilities seem nice. The golf was…read moresort of boring and not well kept up. We were there at the end of May, so perhaps they were not ready for the season. It served the purpose of quick entertainment, but if your kids are big fans of mini-golf, I would not recommend this 'course'.

For such a nice facility, the administration is just awful. My team willingly traveled 85 miles to…read moreplay and they gave us early games on Friday, and late games on Saturday, followed by only 5 of 15 teams advanced for playoffs on Sunday (with 2/3 of the teams playing a consolation game). Had they given us a late game on Friday and early game on Saturday we could justify getting a hotel. But other "local" teams traveling half our distance got 2 games on Saturday. And the amount of consolation games for a tournament that costs a lot more than others where 8-9 teams are in the playoffs. But the real worst is they don't share team rosters, claiming privacy issues, while USABL, PG, ASBA, Ripken and Cooperstown all share them. There were clearly players older than allowed but we had no way of verifying if the players in the lineup were on the roster. I could have shown up with a kid 2 years older and no one could have proved he was not of age. One coach even let is slip that one of his guys was in HS, yet competing 13u. He wasn't Doogie Howser. MSI claimed they verified the rosters, but if no one is verifying the lineups (like PG does) to confirm accuracy to the roster it makes you wonder why. Definitely felt like some home town cooking at that place. Will never go back!

I recently discovered Starfinder over the last Summer. I work in Manayunk and have been able to…read moreattend afternoon pickup soccer sessions from 12pm to 2pm. The facility is in a very convenient location and is easily accessible with public transportation. From what I have been told and from what I have seen recently, they are in the midst of renovations. Starfinder's facility looks in tremendous shape compared to the first time I visited back in July. After speaking to someone in the main office, I have also heard that they going to be replacing the turf field in the near future. They expect an entirely different feel to the facility, and based on what I have seen over the last six months that feeling is palpable. I have asked about their leagues and programs that they offer as well. It appears very clear that people enjoy coming to Starfinder as there always seems to be a group of either students, club teams, or party groups waiting on the mezzanine for the weekly pick up sessions to end. I cannot state enough how satisfying my experiences have been at Starfinder. I believe that the others who attend pickup regularly would also agree. More and more people are showing up each week, and I think that reflects the work that has been put into the place. I really enjoy the atmosphere at the facility and I will continue to attend the weekly pickup sessions. Hope to see you there!

I honestly don't know a ton about the actual foundation- I think it's a non profit, from what I can…read moretell they do some sort of leagues for kids, however I don't know if they are free or not. This review is purely based on the facilities as I have played in several leagues at this location with Philadelphia sport and social club. As you pull up to star finders the parking lot is up on a hill- I guess any parking in manayunk is a plus, but the lot is awful, small, and people will park along the building behind you making it difficult to get out. I believe pssc rents from star finder some pretty high rate or they just up charge us a ton. The league ends up being around $120-130/person for an 8 week session which is significantly higher than most similar leagues which may run you about $60-$100 on avg. There is just the one field turf field which is in acceptable shape. There are several low hanging wires which you end up hitting multiple times in a game. Around the edges you have to be careful as there aren't walls persay and you can trip over the sides if you run into the hanging flaps. I don't think there is heat in this place, and if there is, they hardly ever grace us with it. Come winter- it's basically like playing outside, just on turf. Pluses are there is a water fountain and bathrooms, and seating overlooking the field for any fans.
