I made the comment that at the Dresden office they take the customs form and make a label. That triggered some inner daemon and the sharp reply was "That is against policy. Then go to Dresden." Once again this is my second Yelp complaint and my third official complaint via USPS about Lance who works are the Chamblee GA 30341 Post Office. He won't stop marking on my mail. I have had this post office po box for 2 years and he has NEVER written on my mail UNTIL I filed my first complaint on him for being rude to me. I previously made a complaint on him because my mother needed the Station Manager's contact information (she worked for the Post Office for 30 years) because I had package delivery issues. I NEVER had a problem getting mail. Doraville GA gave me the manager's information and was kind. Lance was rude and he is now ANTAGONIZING ME after my complaint. I tried to go about this the right way but I am now about to contact the Better Business Bureau and take this HARASSMENT to my lawyer. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I am a small business owner who ships fragile, breakable items, and I take great care in packing them properly. Unfortunately, one particular male employee at this post office consistently treats me with unnecessary hostility and disrespect every time I come in. I already have my shipping labels prepared, yet he insists that my carefully packed boxes be forced into a metal drop box that drops them down, which is completely inappropriate for fragile items. When I try to calmly explain this, he doesn't listen -- instead, he yells across the lobby, shouting "SIR! SIR!" in a demeaning and aggressive tone. This isn't a one-time bad day. This is a pattern of rude behavior, lack of customer service, and total disregard for the needs of small businesses who rely on USPS to handle packages properly. There is no reason for raised voices, intimidation, or refusing to listen to a customer who is simply trying to protect their merchandise. I dread coming to this location because of this employee, and that alone says everything. USPS should be supporting small businesses -- not making us feel unwelcome or bullied. Lance is rude and unprossional. He is not living up the standards of his occupation. Him taking longer lunch breaks than he supposed to should not be tolerated, as customers are expected to uphold certain levels of professionalism at this facility, therefore so should he. He needs to learn what professionalism is and stop his retaliatory remarks/actions. Please take action regarding his unprofessional and lazy behavior. I stopped in today at 4 pm to mail a pkg. The counter was closed, even though hours clearly say 9am - 5pm. There was no explanation - just blinds down, doors closed and locked and no one responding to a phone call. The self service machine was, of course, out of order. I was not the only person in the lobby confused, upset and out of sorts by this. We wonder why GA has the worst rating of all the USPS across the country, but this happens. Okay, I worked here 20+ years. As we may not be perfect I pride myself in keeping this location clean and attractive to the community. Yes, the Postal service may not always be what's expected, but we do care. I wish, I could personally reply to all these ( 1 star ) reviews. Most of the time it's a issue which is more than a lost package. Stolen packages usually not, lost in system usually. Sometimes it's illegal stuff, most time it's not. I have met many of the customers who came to know the Chamblee location and visit out of their community Post office just for the service provided and the welcome they receive here. If you choose to visit any Post office location, patience and understanding is always appreciated. Your day maybe hectic, as so the window clerks... I enjoy meeting the wonderful people who come to the Chamblee Ga. So, stop me and say Hi! You'll usually find me outside doing something if not, ask the clerk at the window. I just experienced the worst customer service at the post office. After waiting about five minutes to enter the post office, because the blinds were closed and the door was locked, a gentleman named Lance shows up and appears to be friendly and professional. I was the fourth person in line. And he was extremely rude to all three people ahead of me for no reason. From the looks on their faces, they were all shocked also at how poorly they were treated. I sent an important envelope with tracking on January 30 and it was never delivered so I returned to the post office with another envelope to go to the same address with tracking but wanted to check with him to see if they had any information regarding where the package might be and I was told to call an 800 number and that I could've done everything at one of the machines outside, which is what he instructed everyone else to do. Needless to say I paid $5.50 to send out the original envelope and then after re-creating the contents of it I paid $10.10 to send the same information again today with tracking. Very poor customer service. Do better! read more

I have been serviced at many USPS offices around the city. I must say this is by far one of the best. The employees greet you with with a smile. No matter how long the line or how chaotic the season may be, I have never seen an employee frustrated or simply having a bad day. Always stocked up And when they are not, just ask and they probably have what you need behind the counter. During this holiday season it is good to see people still have joy in their heart. The lines may be long but they move pretty quickly. Chamblee May be short staffed most days but they always give you service with a smile. read more

I have always been treated very well, good service. But there are two exceptions. I needed to send something Priority Mail, I have sent hundreds of these mailers due to my business. They have no more of the regular letter size mailers. But, I noticed that there were some behind one of the counters. So, I ask, 'can I please have just two mailers?' The answer was 'they are for someone else.' 'I don't have any for you.' I sent some off last Friday, so I know that they were there then, too. I am a client, who were they for? Why don't they have any more mailers since last Friday? Aren't the mailers for clients? Another matter is that often, when I go there, the office is closed in the middle of the day for a couple of hours, sometimes even half a day. They either need more employees or they really need to be organized better. read more

Just experienced the worst customer service experience over tape. Tried to ship a package that only required a single use of tape. The guy there was yelling at my sister to buy a package of tape rather than letting her use the tape on the desk. Proceeded to tell her to go home and get tape. I've never had an issue with taping a package at any other location to the point he refused services over tape. read more

Is it just me, or do people have inflated expectations for a Post Office? Okay, the truth of the matter is that those of us even bothering to write a review are just doing it to do it. Because we feel self-important. Or we love to Yelp. Or we love to complain. Maybe some of all of the above. But there is no real value in doing this, because people just go to the most convenient USPS location for them, without caring much about ratings or reviews. They just need to get some business done and I doubt many are willing to drive even an extra mile to get amazing customer service. Which may not even exist, as we know how governmental and quasi-governmental agencies behave and interact with their public/taxpayers. Who needs to be nice, friendly, and super attentive when you will more or less get the same number of customers. Because damn it, many times, it is cheaper shipping USPS than FedEx, UPS, or DHL (does anyone even use that service?). I used to be quite the active eBay seller and would always ship USPS, even to my international buyers. This place serves its purpose. My experience as far as customer service goes is that it ranges from cordial to even plain ol' nice. The building could be considered an eyesore, but I don't give two rats' asses about that, to be honest. I am not sleeping or eating here and it is not a complete dump nor does it stink. I have quite low standards, I admit. And I don't know much about architectural integrity of buildings, but while this place looks like it could use a facelift, it is not in danger of collapsing any time soon. I often use the Automated Postal Machine, as I normally just need to get a stamp (in which case, I have to pony up and buy 3 because they have a minimum purchase amount). Sometimes I will pay for shipping for packages here too. If the line isn't too long or if I have to pick up a package being held for me because I wasn't home when the delivery person arrived and needed my signature, I endure the wait. There could be more clerks, but what did we already conclude about governmental service? So for what it does and how it fulfills my needs in terms of mailing and shipping, I am compensating for the crazily low rating and slapping 5 stars on this bad boy! read more

This is my local post office. It is a quaint little building located on Broad street not too far from the train tracks and it gets the job done. There is a self service mailing center in the lobby that will mail small packages and letters and also dispense stamps if you are in a hurry. Cons: The lack of resources like pens on chains, tape, etc that you would find in a larger USPS. But the most annoying thing is the general attitude and rudeness of the employees. They all seem at act as if you are bothering them by being there. There is maybe one really nice guy in the whole joint. Today was the day that the only customer-facing employee at the branch (this is common, here...as in, I'm not sure if there are any other employees on duty at the same time as the one running the counter) decided to treat every customer who came in as if they should know how to do his job OR if they encountered a problem with the self-service equipment, they were clearly at fault (and not the equipment or the USPS). Walk in, it's 4:15. Posted signage for counter hours states that closing time is 5. Doors to the office are locked. Staff Dude is trying to help one customer with self-service shipping. A few customers milling about. One says to Staff Dude, perhaps you should post a sign or something on the doors that says you're having technical difficulties and that's why you closed early. He turns on her and launches into a tirade about how he has to do ALL THESE OTHER THINGS TOO, proceeds to itemize all of his outstanding duties, and then says he can't possibly be expected to also post a sign. Customer walks away. Staff Dude talks to every person using the self-service equipment as if they are completely incompetent and clearly cannot follow directions. I'm told that I can ship my package using the self-service equipment, and to address my package myself. Every other person walking into the building is just as confused as the next by the locked office doors. Guy who wants a passport application is informed that those are no longer available at the post office. In fact, Staff Dude is not equipped with ANYTHING to help anyone do anything. He is just standing in the foyer like an ill-prepared triage aid. Customer in front of me in line goes through the EXTRAORDINARILY long process of preparing to ship her package (it's the machine, not her fault). She prints her labels, and discovers that the machine has also printed the label and postage for the preceding person. She gives this to Staff Dude. He barks at someone to put their package in the hamper, PUT THE PACKAGE IN THE HAMPER, PUT THE PACKAGE IN THE HAMPER, over and over again, until the person who obviously had no idea what the PO hamper is finally figures it out, dumps her parcel and runs out of the building while talking to herself. When I print my postage, I get a printed label and postage for the person who came before me...so clearly, there is something wrong with the machine. But Staff Dude insists to me that my printed material is in dropbox of the machine. I say: no it isn't. He tells me to 'check again.' That's when I start to get testy. He comes over and says: you got your postage printed, it matches your receipt and WHAT IS THIS? THIS IS SOMEONE ELSE'S POSTAGE! Staff Dude, I told you that. Why are you stressing ME out? He barks at me to affix my postage stickers. But the sticker doesn't completely STICK to the box. Staff Dude has disappeared into the back part of the post office behind a door. I can't even ask him for a piece of clear tape to make sure the unstuck portion of the label doesn't cause problems in future handling. I take the former customer's label, which is just sitting on a random table, to my car. If I can find a pair of scissors in my car, I think, I can cut off a blank part of that label and use it to affix my postage more securely. I neither need nor want to use her label, of course, because that is useless to me. But she is long gone. Staff Dude appears next to my car in the lot and starts to lecture me about taking someone else's postage. I cannot get a word in edgewise to explain that my postage sticker is not sticking properly. He notices the problem, and starts to bark again: just press it down, JUST PRESS IT DOWN, JUST PRESS IT DOWN. And when it finally becomes clear - to him, because he woudn't trust me to state that it wasn't working - that pressing it does nothing helpful, he says: just give me the package. YOU CAN'T TAKE SOMEONE ELSE'S POSTAGE. And he walks away with my parcel and the unclaimed postage sticker. I was so stressed by the whole experience I just came home after that. And I now have no idea if my package will arrive at its destination with an improperly affixed postage sticker. Look, I don't care if someone is especially nice to me. I just hope that they will do their job and act like they're being paid to be patient with people who come in needing help...because they ARE being paid to be patient with people who need help. Everybody who came into that branch during the 30 minutes I was there needed help, and if they're paying for postage and other services, doesn't it stand to reason that they don't know how to do Staff Dude's job? And since when is it beyond the pale to ask someone to communicate as effectively as possible with the public, when they SERVE the public? If you'd like to be barked at as if you are a mentally incompetent 4 year old, just go see that guy at the Chamblee USPS branch. I personally don't know if I'll ever go back. read more

The fact that this Post Office has a self-service Priority and Express Mail kiosk is the reason I keep coming back. I notice that the lines here and always long and slow... And the male employees are much more happy and pleasant to go to than the female employees... but with that said I do 90% of my business through the kiosk to avoid them and the lines. I do appreciate that I can use the kiosk and then leave the packages on the counter for them to group together (so I do not have to drop them into the package box - literally drop). I wish all USPS Offices had kiosks, but they don't. This is one of the few in the area! read more

They have the best customer service here! This has been my local post office for the last 4 years and the postal workers are always so kind and willing to go above and beyond to help you. My only suggestion is that there's always a line during peak times. Of course because of staffing and budgets, there's usually only 1 or 2 personelle behind the counter so be prepared to wait! read more

This post office has seen better days. Every wall is scuffed, marked, or damaged by tape ripped off that once held signage long gone. At times it feels like something you'd experience after the Rapture. The postal service employees were apparently great Christians and had all been called up leaving a short line of sinners to hope and pray that someone will come back to assist us at the counter. The Automated Postal Machine is always a welcome site at any post office because it means you can handle your business without waiting in mind numbing lines. As is customary here, signage tape and chips abound the machine. I'm sure she's a hard worker and keeps chugging along despite not having a pristine exterior. read more

This post office has nice location that is why so many people visit it each day. However it needs more workers to handle daily busy activities. Each time I visit here, I have to wait in a long line and wait for long time to ship my stuff. Why do not have more stuff work at front? Nothing is more annoying than using the free shipping on cyber Monday and realizing fedex dropping your boxes off at the post office; and apparently the lazy ass working at the chamblee post office doesn't want to walk to the front door so they mark my packages as "delivery exception." Meaning I wasn't home to receive them... WHEN THEY DONT REQUIRE A SIGNATURE. I've talked to the post office and she insured me with an attitude that my package would be delivered as soon as I get my mail on Saturday. This was at 3pm. I get online tonight to check the status of my package and it's marked at 5pm as "delivery exception." So I called the girl whose working at the post office on Saturdays and she had already left. Now I have to wait till Monday and hope my packages are there and unharmed. The worst part is it's three separate packages and I'm waiting on two more. I am 29 years old and I've only been to the Post Office 4 times ever. You can thank Amazon for that... I normally feel frantic because I feel like I need to ask a few questions before even proceeding to write down an address or pick the correct envelope for what I'm looking for. Today I had a package to mail. It wasn't too busy but I immediately was able to ask the lady at the counter a few questions before I headed back in line. She was extremely polite and patient. As I watched her interact with other customers I was thinking to myself how at ease I feel that someone like that was working at the location closest to my home. The customer before me was an elderly man who said to her "you are by far the nicest person I've ever encountered in this experience." I laughed to myself because I was about to tell her the same thing! This nice lady's name was Deirdre. She has a wonderful smile and is very sincere. This is the worst post office now. They just need to close it. If Chamblee is a growing city then they need to cut this weed out of it's harvest.. The one on Chamblee and 285 or Dresden has better service, just happens I keep a PO Box here. I have had a PO Box for over 4 years at this location. Too much mismanagement here whenever I come and there phone number 7702161968 surprisingly goes to an empty unused answering of jumbled computer from the 80's. I always received a notice when time to pay my PO Box fees. Today May 20 2016 I was in their office. Talked to a new girl and I was told I am being charged for a 21 dollar late fee. I said for what I never received a notice in my PO Box, the bright orange one I have gotten for years. Another woman next to her started taking over the conversation that I would have to pay it but I can get a refund when I talk to the Supervisor...who would be back in two weeks! I asked the name of the postmaster she said he won't talk to me because there is a chain of command and I have to wait on the Supervisor at their branch to talk to him. She ended up talking to me like a lifeless human being/ robotized when I was factual about the situation. And her excuses were just like a computer, like she was bothered I was asking specific questions so she was on repeat for an answer of excuses, I guess this is what she was teaching the new girl cause she looked so puzzled at what was going on (that poor baby needs to run before she becomes a robotized too). So I had to waste 21 dollars for their mistake!?And still wait 2 weeks to get it back cause their Supervisor is not there She didn't even look at me talking , that's how programmed she is. There is no good customer service here at all. Beware of the human robots at this location. so i go here to mail a package...... this has got to be the most raggedy post office i have ever seen. i go in needing to tape up my box. i politely step up to the counter and wait patiently to ask the one clerk that was up there for priority tape as she was helping a patron. some asian lady who was still preparing her package for shipping decides to let me know where the line starts. i informed her i knew where the line starts and to mind her own business. meanwhile some lady has her 3 kids in there rolling around all over the floor, screaming, with snot running down their nose. anywho my package is finally ready to go and the line has gone from 3 people to 9 in 5 minutes. i am looking for a to: .... from: priority label, and ask the clerk. she says we are out you will just have to write on the box. i write on the box, putting to: in big letters to the address it is going to and even circling the to: . i also put my return address on there with from: in big letters above it. do you know these imbecile's still sent the package to the from address. i am floored and can't believe it. this was my first time here as it is in my neighborhood, and boy will it be my last. i will go back to the buckhead location ... where they have all of their supplies and are not incompetent !!! smh ...... stay far away from here if you can avoid it!!! read more
