This post office is horrible!! I've been waiting for 2 years to get mailbox keys for a condo I rent out. They claim someone get the keys but won't tell me who. I'm the owner. They're supposed to be a passport processing center and they refuse to process my passport renewal. The front seat manager wasn't helpful. Why would you take the mail drop out of the parking lot, and put it next to the front door? Why wouldn't you just want to have the mailbox so you can lean out of the window and drop it off? Since the postal employees here have moved the mailbox, you now need to park, get out of the car, and drop your mail off at the front door. What an inconvenience. Postmaster General, if you're reading this, I hope you rectify this injustice. I've read that post office parking lots have some of the most car accidents of any other type of business- people are running in, dropping things off, and running out, thinking of other things. It'd be so much safer if you didn't have to park and go walking through the parking lot to drop off a letter. read more

I do not recommend scheduling a passport appointment at this post office. They cancel appointments for minor or questionable reasons. When I returned with all the required documents, I was told the camera was "not working" and later that my photocopies were "not acceptable." While I was there, I saw two other customers have their passport appointments canceled as well. This shows a clear lack of organization and respect for customers' time. Management should take immediate action to improve service at this location. read more

I don't usually come to this location, but Iris confirmed today that I will not use this location and we'll find another location in the future. There was not a long line. However, iris's attitude, and demeanor was unnecessary and unprofessional. I asked a simple question to be supported with policy and she could not give me the information despite me telling her that I have no issues regarding this type of packaging at the airport post office, that I regular Lee visit and rather than be spoken to that way I'll go to another location from now on.. read more

I'm not one to leave negative reviews, but this feels necessary. It was my son's birthday today, and we were out of town but just got back. He was getting presents delivered to our PO Box at this location from family members across the states. I arrived to the post office at 5:25 (they close at 5:30). I checked my PO Box and found the yellow slip they give when they have over the counter mail in the back. I get to the doorbell and ring it several times BEFORE 5:30. At 5:29 no one still has answered so I ask an employee who is getting ready to lock up if there's anyone that can help me get my packages. She says to just keep ringing the bell. It's 5:32 and no one has still answered, making it 7 minutes I was waiting before being helped. Finally, a blonde girl answers the door and says they're closed. Now I used to work in customer service, particularly retail so I understand they close their doors when they have to. I also understand what it's like to be on the other side of the fence when it comes to angry customers or customers with an attitude. When she opens the door, saying they're closed, I POLITELY tell her I've been waiting almost 10 minutes and that another worker told me to just wait until they were able to help. She then proceeds to tell me I can come back tomorrow because she's closing. So I continue to explain to her that I was waiting before 5:30 and she shows me the time saying it's 5:33. I told her I understand but I was waiting BEFORE 5:30... or at least I was until she interrupted my sentence and shut the door in my face. Yes. She didn't let me get my words out and SHUT THE DOOR IN A CUSTOMER'S FACE. Listen I'm all about empathy. I understand the pandemic has took a toll on USPS workers and I am so grateful for them. Which is why this is still getting 2 stars because the other workers I've come across there have always been very nice. As a former customer service worker, I also understand when a customer isn't understanding the policies, however, if it is not the customer's fault, you absolutely SHOULD NEVER interrupt them NOR close doors in their face. I've had bags thrown at me, yelled at, you name it by unsatisfied customers and I would never treat them in such a way. I'm real disappointed in this worker. VERY DISAPPOINTED. An average post office, the staff is friendlier than the one off Huebner and Lockhill-Selma. I've been swinging by to pick up my mail because my apartment complex still hasn't fixed the mailbox doors. Wish the hours were less bizarre on Saturdays. This post office went above and beyond to get my package delivered to the correct address after I made the mistake of leaving off the apartment number on one of my packages. I visited the kiosk and after dropping the pkg in the drop I realized I left off the apt number, I called first thing the next morning to see if they could add the apt number before departure. A very nice but busy lady took my pkg info down and looked for it but said ut had to be at the bottom of their bin, I gave her a description and she said she'd Add the apartment number When she Sorted it. I thought to myself there's no way she's going to remember or be able to get to it before it leaves. I contacted my customerAfter I got confirmation of delivery via the tracking number to make sure he got it. I then asked him if it had the apartment written On it and he confirmed it was on there. This is my neighborhood post office. I appreciate that it's conveniently located, and even though it's busy, they keep the line going. The workers there are fast, friendly and efficient. I know I have been able to run in and get things done and move on with my errands. I feel like they keep up the pace and are helpful. read more

This is a great location for postal needs for those of us who work in the Medical Center area. It offers all the usual postal services. Although not as big as some other locations, it works just fine for any needs I may have during the work day. read more

What is convenient about this specific location is that there is a kiosk by the PO boxes where you can send letters, renew PO box subscriptions, and buy postage stamps. When I visited at 2:45 PM on a Monday, there were about 2 people in line to use the Kiosk. Since I had to weigh a certain letter, I stood in line. There were two people working the counter, however, the like did move pretty quickly, considering there was about 6 people in front of me. I was out in about 10 minutes. As far as parking goes, there are a limited number of spaces in the front. However, there are always people leaving after they leave the line. Keep in mind, this is a busy location. read more

I don't have any problems with this post office. They do there job as they should do it and they know everything they have to know. This includes international mailing. There is sometimes a line, but they try to work as fast as possible. Some of the customers go there and don't even know the address format for the country they send things to, so it's the customers fault when the line gets longer. read more

If I thought the location on Broadway in Alamo Heights was slow and difficult, it's only because I hadn't been to this one. After moving to the medical center with my boyfriend, we initially got mail that wasn't ours- pretty typical for a large property, so we put a note in the box and my name was added on a card. Perfect, right? How convenient and organized! But, as I said, my boyfriend also lives with me. And he gets far less mail. Like two pieces a month. The first month, everything was fine. Then we slowly noticed that we'd receive a ton of ads and coupons and fliers and circulars, but none of our bills. Hence what prompted my initial visit to this location. Luckily it wasn't busy when I went into speak with the post master- which sounds much fancier than it actually is. After about a five minute wait, an annoyed and irritated lady walked up to me with a "Yeah, what?" look on her face. Assuming she must be busy or having a hard day, I summarized my situation and before I was really done she just interrupted me and said she was riding out with "that guy" tomorrow, and asked what apartment complex it was, then more or less dismissed me. The problem was rectified and we both began receiving our mail again, but it was poorly handled. Add to that the next time I went in, which was to send certified mail for a traffic violation- after standing through a miserably slow line with three registers open, I reach the front of the line only to hear that the credit card machines are down. Why a note wasn't posted, I don't know. So I flat out ask the cashier what I'm supposed to do at this point, as I do not carry cash. He just shrugs at me and attempts to move on to the next person in line while I'm still in front of him. Rude much? Ultimately he said the machine was very slow and they suspected it was down, would be posting signs, but he didn't know what to do. Surprise, surprise, he ran my card and, though slow, it went through just fine. What a jerk. Next time I'll just go to a location by my work rather than, I don't know, the one a block away. No wonder the post office system is going under- as government employees, it practically takes an act of Congress for them to get terminated, so they can be as unproductive and rude as possible and still keep their jobs. read more

We move a lot, and so have had a lot of local Postal stations, and we've developed some criteria that make a difference: * Friendly staff, not above having a quick conversation beyond "have a nice day." * Supplies available in the lobby for when the main office is closed. * Clean * Good quantity of supplies readily available in the office itself. * Knowledgeable employees who work at a reasonable pace to move the line along. * Staff that are kind to people who don't know exactly what they need or ask what sometimes might seem to be "dumb questions." * Easy to get to, with lots of parking * Outdoor post box readily accessible (this is where this station lost a star, it takes a bit of talent to figure out how to get to the single one they have) So - four stars for the Medical Center office. read more

I see very conflicting reviews of this post office. I went in ONLY to process a passport for my daughter without her other parent. 1. This Post Office requires an appointment. (As an aside, getting an appointment for a passport can take months in this city. And, if you were like us, needed one ASAP -- well, be prepared to wait at the Perrin-Beitel location or pray for a cancellation at another facility). 2. I arrived early -- to be sure I was at the correct place and to be able to find (as I've never been to this location before). 3. As I said, I arrived early. They processed my application regardless. I was done 10 minutes BEFORE my appointment time. I REALLY appreciated that as I had a very young infant with me. 4. The woman that helped me was very nice and helpful -- especially, as I said, we were processing a passport with one parent not present. We chatted and things were cordial. All in all - I would go back if in the immediate area. read more

As far as USPS offices go, this one isn't too terrible. First time I went I was pissed because they were such little help and a waste of time (look at previous review) but I went a few days later and the same lady told me I didn't have the correct form before, told me the same words again. I was pissed again because I swear I had the correct paperwork but apparently it wasn't printed on the right kind of paper (or something ridiculous). Thankfully, she had some spare forms she didn't have before and was able to give us a couple and save us another day of headache and hassle. Went to Post Office today to return a dress from LulaRoe I ship a lot at my local post office but was at work and stopped in at the Medical USPD San Antonio. What a waste of time, the rep Brandon was very rude. He needs some customer service training. After he was rude to me not helping explain how I need to handle the return. I had to drag every thing out of him it was exhausting. I finally understood I need to purchase bag to send item back and I need to purchase tape because he couldn't secure my return label, they have done this in the past with no problem. But ok fine, as I am looking at the bags to buy I get to hear him be rude to another customer. The customer is trying to get the cheapest way to send his mail certified. Brandon says he doesn't understand and Leaves it at that, once again the gentleman try's to explain what he needs. The gentleman does have an accent but I understood him perfectly. Brandon does not take the time to explain the different options this gentleman has to send his item. He finally just offers one way to send and I could see how frustrated the customer was. This is the post office by my house and the most convenient to me, especially since I work downtown and getting to that one is a nightmare. I usually don't have to deal much with the postal people except when I drop off a prepaid certified mail and just need a stamp on my certified part with the date. The other day, I couldn't make it until 5:30 and just needed regular first class postage for a non-folded letter 8x11. It was going to cost about $2. They changed the machine in the lobby so when I went to pay by credit card, which is the only thing it takes for money, it doesn't work. I tried 3 times, I tried switching it around. I tried everything. I even ran to my car to get another credit card thinking my chip was bad. So now, I have to go all the way to the post office after work and stand in a long line like they usually have on Friday afternoons and mail the package. My second gripe, I haven't been getting all my mail. My junk mail, sure my box is stuffed with that every day, but recently, I have had 3 separate cards, sent to my address that have never shown up. I am talking they are missing for months now. Three different people sent cards to me, so now, since I have to stand in that ridiculous long line, I am going to figure out what the heck has been happening to my mail. read more

I asked a worker what to do about getting so much junk mail from the previous resident who lived in the apartment before me. Literally 95% of our mail is from one resident who forgot to cancel their mailing address. Our mail box is stuffed with other peoples mail. The employee told me he's too busy to read the name of the resident when delivering mail and that I could just throw it away. He also started complaining to me about how late he was already and that employees just didn't have time to worry about it. Totally unhelpful. read more

If I was able to rate 0 stars, I would. Brandon there was the worst customer service agent I've dealt with in recent memory. I would never want someone who treated customers the way he treated me working for me... I was trying to send out a package and prepay for return postage. He straight up told me "I'm not going to do that for you" and tried to force me to buy two flat rate envelopes instead of using my envelopes. I had everything addressed, I had everything ready to go... All he had to do was tell me how much postage would be. He tried to tell me that the wasn't allowed to, even though I've done this dozens of times at other post offices. He's lazy and doesn't know how to do his job. I asked him when the policy changed and he told me to go to USPS.com to find it. I asked him what to look for on the website because I KNEW (being a government employee myself) that the policy rules and procedures was pretty extensive. He goes "I'm not going to have this conversation with you, you need to step aside and leave". I'm a federal employee. 7 years of federal service... NEVER have I ever seen such poor customer service in the private or government sector. Brandon, you need to take a hard look in the mirror and ask yourself if customer service is the right career for you. Brandon's supervisor: you should take a hard look in the mirror and ask yourself if you want people that act like Brandon representing your branch. I'll never go back to this medical district location, even though its a block from my work. I hate this post office. It sucks too, because I work in the medical center and have to run errands frequently so unfortunately, this is the most convenient post office for me. The people here act as if they have the worst jobs in the world, I once went to mail something internationally and the woman was really happy and smiley, talking to me.. I was pleasently surprised! She then was telling her co-worker "I'm not allowed to be this happy. then proceeded to complain about how horrible her job is. I'm like, uhhhhhhhh.... AWKWARD, much!?
