I really like the employees here; But the USPS Ground Advantage service sucks! NGL/ not gonna lie, I usually hate coming to the post office; long lines, parking issues, unfriendly workers, just a pure hassle. However since moving to Waimea, this has been my absolute pleasure. Parking is still a little bit of an issue cause no one here has mailboxes and mail service is difficult but the employees here are amazing! So nice, friendly and smiling. It such a breeze to send anything and especially pick up my packages. My favorite person here is Russel J!!! He always is smiling, always is willing to help anyone and even makes suggestions to make my postal needs easier. Couldn't be happier! read more

This US Post Office is quite small, but it does the job. The one I go to is the Waialae-Kahala one, since they have that automated post office machine, where you can do your electronic postage processing there at any time of day that the post office is not operating. With that said, the lines can be long here, but the staff is friendly and expedient with your items. It's great that the US Postal Service accepts all major credit cards. There is street parking right in front of the Post Office, in case you just need to drop off letters in the blue box. Or if you need counter service, there is the parking lot in back of the post office if you need too. Located on Koko Head Avenue, you can't miss this one. I rushed over just before closing to mail a birthday package to my dad and a congratulations card to my nephew and saw that they were just about to close for the day, closing the sliding door behind me. While I was hurriedly writing my dad's address on a flat rate box, i noticed the postal workers taking extra time to help a woman with a lot of questions even though it was closing time. When she left in her wheelchair they let in another woman who had arrived just after closing. Although they helped us after closing time, they made us feel like a valued customers and not an inconvenience - they did not turn us away although they had the ability to do so. The workers at this post office are vital members of our community who do a quality job every day. They do more than expected and i am grateful for their service. Yesterday I received a notice that the Kamuela Post Office tried to deliver a parcel to us, but was unable to. This was preposterous as we were home all day long. I complained at the post office about this. They took my number and said someone would call, but no one did. In the AM, a supervisor called me husband and said we need to pick up our packages. She claimed I yelled and upset 2 of her employees so much, that the whole town of 96743 (Waimea) will no longer get packages delivered to their homes. This is the last straw. I will be taking this complaint as high up the ladder as I can. read more

The customer service is rotten, they are constantly talking story on the governments time and they just can't seen to vlose their counters and lock their doors fast enough at closing time..... The people are awesome! Please don't close this post office down :( I don't like the hours, but it is what it is. The reviews say the people are slow, but even when there's a long line I don't spend much time waiting. The workers tell a joke and brighten your day. I have been here a handful of times. Usually to pick up the random package that can't fit in the mailbox or to mail out that care package to my college daughter. I come at different times, so I have seen the post office when it was crowded and not busy. The parking lot is the one BIG drawback to this location. There are a few stalls directly in front of the post office. It is a one way, in and out in that front section. It can get backed up with people just using the drop mail box (in that front lot area) or people waiting for stalls. There is a side lot, closer to Target. I use that parking lot. The stalls are a good size, so I don't really have to worry about squeezing in & out of my car. There are a lot of post office mail boxes. Tables are available to check out your mail/packages or pack your mail/packages. There are Priority boxes for mailing out. In the actual post office counter section, there are mail products for purchase, such as envelopes (padded), packing tape, and greeting cards. The staff is awesome here. They are always friendly and informative. Its like they are a well-oiled machine. They offer alternatives on shipping, but never push you to buy stuff or change your mind about how to ship. It's just nice to see this kind of customer service when people are usually just trying to rush about. I'm really glad that this is my neighborhood post office! read more

This location is very small. Usually only one staff working and the line usually is out the door. I can walk to this location which is convienent but don't like the long lines. The staff there are very friendly. FYI they close for lunch since just one staff there. read more

Most entertaining post office I've ever been in. Total local vibe, very friendly, laid back. Guys working are funny and helpful and always make me laugh. However, I have to add that this is probably the slowest post office on the planet. They are on Hawai'i time. Today there were two guys at the counter. Eight people in line. Only one guy helping people. The other guy just stands around talking story with the guy working. Don't come here if you have anywhere else to be that day. If you want your packages to actually be delivered instead of swimming in an endless barrage of redelivery slips you better use UPS or FedEx. I have left numerous notes with the post office with instructions for leaving packages however most of their drivers (save for a few) are either lazy or illiterate and absolutely will not follow any of the directions. When I pick up a box and point out that it says to leave it at the residence on the label I normally get a half-assed excuse from a rude person at the counter. read more

Small and functional. There isn't a lot of room in there, so the line can actually go out the door, but it is close by if you live on the rise in Kaimuki and perfect for a quick stop off the Koko Head exit. Most of the workers are actually really nice... but I had a bad experience today with the haole manager who opened the will-call window for someone else and refused to help me too. He told me to go back in the 20-deep line. I did, grudgingly... and not 2 minutes later one of the window workers pulled me out of line back to the will-call window to get my package. The haole manager was still standing near the window when it was re-opened for me. He looked at me, then says to the guy -" why did you do that? Now's she's giving me stink eye because I wouldn't help her before" read more

This place is small...what's even more frustrating is that they don't have free parking. Expect to wait. The guy who was working was a nice guy, but they are understaffed here. They should have more people working, people are waiting out the door, be sure to feed your meter and expect to be waiting there at least 20 minutes. read more

I have been going to this post office for 30+ years. It is my neighborhood post office and I loved going here- until the past two occasions. Dennis was once a very happy and helpful gentlemen but he has gotten rude and demeaning. The parking has become difficult since the opening of target and the road construction. If I had other options for a post office, I would go there instead of to Kailua. ALL customers deserve to be treated equally. I hope it improves and returns once again to the friendly and helpful post office it once was. read more

Horrible service....first they dont deliver packages to your door, they leave slips. If you go to post office without your slip, dont count on getting your package. They will say its not there when it is, happened 4 times in 3 months. read more
