Has anyone seen my driver's license that was supposed to come in the mail nearly a year ago? Oh, I got someone else's bankruptcy papers (I'm sure they appreciate that). My neighbor dropped off my husband's work mail the other day (private business by the way). Go ahead tell me to call them, complain!! What a joke. I tried this. The condescending woman I spoke to acted as if it were my fault because I didn't report the problem often enough. When nothing changes people give up. Then she acted as if it weren't happening. Yet I was able to prove it on the phone. So I asked her why we have so many mail carriers. She tells me that our route (right in the middle of town) is an auxiliary route (this means that they alternate carriers constantly). So in that case none of them ever learn this route. We have lost so much mail over the years and acquired so much mail that wasn't ours. It isn't unusual for neighbors to deliver each other's mail here. So customer service from here sucks!

My granddaughter had a huge settlement check that required overnight delivery. The clerk looked it up on the Postal computer and assured me it would be alright to add the Apt number to the address. I spent $30.45 to overnight it. They could not deliver because the address did not have "Apt. 1" written out apart from the address, and are sending it back and I have to pay another $30,45. They cost me $60.90 for bad advice!!

Now I have been traveling in an RV for 10 years and I have never had a more pleasant experience than I had here at a Post Office. The worker was friendly and after my spiel she said "oh you are the one". She went and that back and found my packages and gave them to me (with ID proof of course). She even told me she had investigated the situation by calling the main office of the RV park.

Use the mails, use your post office, its one of the few federal services the average person really benefits from having. I have sent tens of thousands of letters in my life and I think they lost maybe 2. If you compared this to the hassle of lost and misdirected emails, there is hardly any comparison for accuracy. Email is cheap and fast, but if you want a nice well done communication that can be most reliably received and archived, letter mail is hard to beat.
