As you enter behind you is a bug zapper, I have never seen that, and I love that item! Someone is thinking upstairs! Thank you! Great carts, two different sizes and the area is clean, thank you again! As you enter to the right are all the fresh veggies and fruits with the Starbucks to the far left! Starbucks is a nice little add if you can not wake up totally to the shopping. To note, the Starbucks is fully staffed and can do what ever quickly! Thank you to them! To the far left, they have hot meals to select from, and if you are going to try to save money, have a bite! Do not shop hungry! It will cost you in the long run! If you walk through the store you will notice that the isles are wide, clean, and the products are well placed. This store has a number of cold bins! A number of more cold bins than the normal store, but they are trying to take care of you and being in a small town! ~ Cons: ~ They do not have a deli/meat person other than their deli person! ~ Their fresh fish area is very limited and also the frozen fish area. But this is central Texas, you eat fish near the shore, not in in central US. ~ Pros: ~ The veggies look and feel so fresh! ~ Customer service Rocks! ~ The fruits look and feel awesome! Just like they would taste fantastic! ~ The daily hot meals are a nice touch, and if you want to save a buck, have a little something before your shopping! ~ The pharmacy looks like they are on top of their game, but I can not verify this at this time. I like this place a great deal! I do have one problem, I came back notify the store manger about this problem and she lied to my face. I told her about the problem and would come back about in a month to see if they had resolved this issue, and update my review. I had read an article that the catfish and tilapia from china were not on our best interest. (Let us leave the issue on that) The manager only stated that she would look into this issue and it was higher issue now that it was brought to her attention. Had a good time at the pharmacy somebody had the same birthday as mine in a few days and then the other lady that I called earlier and talked to she was there and was checking me out and then got the other lady and we all had a great time I was in in a good mood until I go get a few things from United grocery and everything falls apart get the wrong chicken breast so I went back all the way in and got the right ones my mistake but I did ask a assistant manager there at the store and had him come and be sure to verify them the right ones and he said yes and then I go up and waste 20 minutes arguing with the lady and putting out the guy that was just up there to check out something the assistant manager and it just cost a lot of excitement because he didn't know but he said he did and then the fruit has changed you only get the deal if you pick up or get it delivered I mean I was losing the battle I've already wasted 20 minutes and I was done so I just left I didn't buy nothing but is this how it's going to be everything changes you don't get deals until you do something special flip upside down backwards crazy just tell us the food at a decent price and give us a good deal without doing crazy crap you already got to be a member to buy groceries how insane is this . I know that's the way it is but it's not right and if you don't get the deals at United they're already so Sky High anyway it's horrible that's the only reason I come is to get the deals and then you don't get them unless you do exactly what they say get it delivered or pick it up and I didn't see that I've never seen that I've been getting fruit on sale there taking it to my sister at the nursing home but that's how it goes everything's changing and it's going to get worse it's going to get worse . And everybody's going to be in a mess not pleased at all such a good mood after talking to them at the pharmacy and then go to grocery that I wasn't even going to pick up the stuff that I needed to go ahead and get it for the family and here we go Lord help me Jesus help me Jesus read more

Deli: The deli is absolutely useless. They only fix a tray of food, whether entre or sides to complete about 10 plates. They do not fix anymore until that tray is empty, so most of the time you have to wait 10 to 20 minutes, or more, to get your choices. Especially true on the lunch specials. There is a much more efficient way to serve your customers a hot fresh meal, without making them wait. This is a product and time management issue. United, either get it right or shut it down, but please stop wasting your customers precious time. read more

Lost a customer. There is expired food on the shelves, along with rotten chicken in the meat area. The employees should be taking care of this, but instead, they are following honest customers around the store. read more

I've experienced nothing but problems at two other local pharmacies. Several of my meds require pretty strict consistency on when I take the meds. I've had these prescriptions run 7-10 days late each month, requiring me to start over with titrating dosages until I get back to where I should be. I switched to United this morning, and even with the mess I left them in contacting the other two pharmacies and my provider, they still had my prescription ready for pickup in an hour. They were extremely polite, friendly, and eager to assist. Thank you to the entire pharmacy crew at United in Brownwood. Awesome job! read more

Solid solid solid love it clean solid prices I mean I want more of these in brown wood best grocery store here right next to Aldi's

United (owned by Albertsons for many years now) is a very clean, nice store with exceptional employees throughout the store! I shop there quite often even though I think the store is poorly laid out compared to most grocery stores that I have shopped over the past 40 plus years and their prices are considerably higher overall compared to Brookshire's, Wal-Mart and Kroger before they closed. Layout is strange in that yo have to shop several different aisles for paper goods and quite a few categories of items are not with like categories. The most recent example of pricing that has grated on me ever since they opened is their ridiculous price on Simply Orange 1/2 gallon orange juice. They are $7.49 per half gallon compared to Wal-Mart at $5.98 and Brookshire's at $6.49. There are many other examples and I am surprised because the original United's were very competitive and I should know since my family had 31 Super Markets in the general Central Texas area as well as the fact that I went to Texas Tech University in Lubbock, the original home of United. I use to do a lot of comparison shopping when I worked for Kroger and in our family business. I encourage potential customers to make a list of 25 to 30 items that They use REGULARLY OVER A MONTHS PERIOD OF TIME (but not staples like coffee, sugar, milk, bread etc.) and shop United, Wal-Mart and Brookshire's and write down columns for each store next to the products they have listed. Of course Wal-Mart is going to have the best overall prices but a comparison of all three stores prices will be an eye opener when the prices for each store are totaled. It would have sure enough been an eye opener to have done it while Kroger was still here! And like in the case of the Simply Orange a dollar is not good and there are many other items proportionally higher than Brookshire's and Wal-Mart. I want to mention that Brookshire's offers the very friendly employees, carry out, check cashing, quality produce and meat the same as United. I will give United a better grade in that their meat department selection is way above Brookshire's and I rarely buy meats from Wal-Mart due to quality variances. United's produce department (same as the meat department) is considerably larger due to the way the store is laid out and larger. Please understand that I enjoy going to United for their specials and certain products, HOWEVER, I will not pay way higher prices just to do business with the newest store in town at this point. Sure wish that Kroger had not been shafted and decided that they could not afford to do business in Brownwood. There are a large number of us that are hoping that HEB will come into town and give us more competitive prices. They have stores in Abilene so Brownwood would be right on the way for deliveries. As I stated if they were competitive on 99% of the items they carry I would live with the poor layout. It is a super clean and well run store just like Brookshire's and their service is exceptional. Unfortunately I can't give those kudos to Wal-Mart other than it general is clean. read more

The store in itself is decent however if you're new to the Brownwood area the staff treats you like your an alien from outer space. It really detracts from the store. Employees: treat people like you would like to be treated and that is with kindness. You don't always know people's situations and their reasons for moving here. Stop being rude and hateful! read more

I usually shop here for the great deals and fresh fruits/vegetables. This is the only store in town that carries Peach Fresca. Also, they sell some of the best looking eggs. This property is always clean and well maintained. Every department seems to be organized and stocked. Lots of open cash registers and excellent customer service. I especially like their fresh breads and cheese selection. read more

I live in Dallas but grew up in Brownwood and often go visit my mom. I love this store. It is always clean and has so many fresh foods that are awesome. The customer service is great. But today, they really wowed me. Their floral department went above and beyond any customer service I have ever seen to accommodate a special request. I really appreciate the extra kindness that often comes from people in small towns!! Thank you, United!! read more

The only reason I did not rate them five stars is because they are pricey. Superb costumer service. They take your cart out to the car for you and have ample cashiers ready to check you out. read more

United is a good place to pick up ready made items. Salad bar looked good, however I did not try. Picked up a few items. Better verity then Krogers. Prices are to bad. Will shop here again. read more

Great customer service at the deli for lunch. The chicken was moist and with good flavor. Better yet, it was on special. We enjoyed the roasted vegetables and fruit. After lunch we shopped for fresh fruits and vegis. Dylan and Coby were very helpful and we were able to confidently take home fruit we had never tried before. Thanks read more
