Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny. The entire house has been restored to represent how the original owners would have it set up as closely as possible. The inside details are gorgeous and intricate. Our tour ended up being more like 45 minutes because it was just us and we didn't ask questions. It was a great way to spend a little bit of time before our next activity.

We added the additional 30 minutes on our original tour. Phoenix downtown is such a modern city now, that sometimes the past is overlooked so this is a nice tour of history and ghost stories combined. We had a great time and needed a good walk after dinner. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes for walking.

Lucas was our guide and he was charming, kind and very informative. We were a group of sassy girls and he handled our sass and played along while still keeping us on track and focused. We had warned Lucas ahead of time that I had a knee injury and he was so careful to make sure I was accommodated and had places to sit whenever possible and checked in with me to make sure I was doing ok. I had been to phoenix hundreds of times but still managed to learn a ton of things I didn't know. Also we caught a weird figure in photos at the Rosson House when we looked back. A lot of us had the same photo from the same angle and the figure wasn't in all the photos. So definitely spooky!! 100% would recommend.

(Vovomeena) For a leisurely after-breakfast walk, we went. We admired the grassy front lawns (many "newer" suburban communities don't allow grass in the front lawn) and the architecture of the homes (bungalows mostly) as well as the mature trees and landscaping. Then, just a couple days ago, it happened again. Lynwood is one nice street down which to take a stroll and check out the architecture. And it was then that I learned that this area is designated "The Historic Roosevelt Neighborhood" which is the area from McDowell to VanBuren and from Central to 7th Avenue. it's a series of neighborhoods that grew North of Phoenix between 1893 and 1930. Lynwood St is actually located in an overlap with historic area: "The FQ Story Neighborhood Historic District" which spans from McDowell south to Roosevelt Street and from 7th Ave west to Grand. I'd thought I'd noticed, too, as we'd driven by one of the homes..that there was a white box affixed to a tree. Christmastime...letters to Santa maybe? or maybe the home had a special historical designation...? The joy of discovery. Simple stuff. It wasn't either of those. Note: There's an annual home tour in early November "Historic Roosevelt Home Tour" If you feel like you want to keep walking/sightseeing - check out the nearby "Japanese Friendship Garden" at Portland and 3rd Ave...(there is an admission fee.)

Heritage Square is home to some preserved 19th and 20th century homes, museums and restaurants. The Rosson House is a beautiful restored 1895 Queen Anne Victorian house that was once home to early settlers in Phoenix. Heritage Square also hosts many food and cultural festivals. There is a large garage nearby for parking and ASU has a small campus next door. The Arizona Science Center is the building that stands out the most here at Historic Heritage Square. I have gone to it a couple of times and have enjoyed my time there. Arizona's most iconic restaurant Pizzeria Bianco by James Beard Award-winner Chris Bianco is also here. It can be a very long wait to get a table and has been visited by many celebrates like Jerry Seinfeld and Jimmy Fallon over the years. Sometimes I will park near Heritage Square while going to a baseball game and like to enjoy its relaxing peaceful atmosphere before the game. There are some shaded areas to take cover on warm sunny days.

He is very witty and speaks with great knowledge of the topics. Yes the tour is walking and definitely different than what we expected but we were not let down. It was hot, but we were very fascinated by how Lucas was telling the stories. I felt like Lucas was my audiobook as I took photos around the areas we toured. Yes you could read it all on the internet and plan accordingly, but the experience is what you make it. If you're gonna sit and be disappointed that the tour is walking and "boring", but even at times that I felt like I was not paying attention I was taking photos around in hopes to catch something. At the Teeter house I did catch what I think is an apparition in the window... let me know what you think! Take the tour it's worth it. I regret not purchasing the extended tour with Lucas!!

The shop is spacious and the items were all very unique and would make cute or funny gifts. They could probably fit some more items in this space for sale but it was a fun store to browse in while we were at Cityscape. The installation at the shop when I was here was Saskia Jordá's Cacerolazo. If you're at Cityscape it's worth a stop since you get a shopping experience and get to see some modern art all in the same place.

Each year the Sonoran Arts League hosts Hidden in the Hills. It's a two weekend event where you…read moredrive through Cave Creek, Carefree, and North Scottdale on a self-guided tour of 150+ artists at 40 studios. Multiple artists are set up at a host artist's home studio, and the public gets to browse and shop. It was fun to see some art that we recognized from other shows or restaurants. Each artist had a card, qr code, or newsletter sign up sheet. Just driving through the desert from studio to studio was breathtaking. We saw such a variety of interesting art in beautiful homes and studios. I can't wait to go again next year and will plan more days around it so that we can view so much more. Plan your route and stop by downtown Cave Creek or Carefree for lunch. We did take our kids, after a very firm discussion on being respectful and not touching (art or each other). They did pretty good and found it interesting. Each artist had a bowl of candy or mints out, so that added extra motivation. The artists were wonderful towards the kids.
