The staff is very nice, as are and especially so, the doctor(s) (I've only been to one and I schedule w/ her every time). They are always on time too unlike a normal family doctor; big plus in my book!! Everyone there definitely makes you feel more at ease because really, who loves going for their annual checkup? Even though that was what I went in for - a growth coming out of my body that didn't feel right and wasn't always there. Not only did she not address it (again, the thing I literally went in for) but I think she just plain didn't see it. She instead minimized my concern and said I must be talking about something on the external part of my body, around my labia. I called the clinic 5 days later and spoke to Tina, who is the be-all-end-all at this clinic. She's the admin, the CFO, the CEO - aka, if you aren't happy with how she is treating you then too bad so sad. She continuously interrupted me and did NOT want to believe the patient; she offered zero resolution and zero compassion. I asked Tina to have Dr. Nicole Davis call me after she reviewed the photo I had to take of MY VAGINA and send it to them via the Klara app (something I never dreamed of having to do). They took no accountability for their lack of understanding what my concern was OR that during my exam, it was completely missed. They said I could come back for another exam and pay another copay, shocker. When Dr. Nicole Davis messaged me (even though I specifically asked for her to call me), I replied and asked her to confirm that she completely missed this. She replied stating "I may have seen it during your exam, but because it is a normal variation, I do not routinely discuss it with patients." Let me be very clear - this was only the SECOND time she had seen me. How is anything about our doctor/patient relationship routine?! I strongly recommend starting with Planned Parenthood to get treatment from those in the medical community who truly care about women. Then ask that physician who their OBGYN is, that's my plan. No way in hell am I coming back to this place. As if women don't deal with gaslighting enough in this world - I sure as shit don't need it from my OBGYN.

She arrived at 8:43am and was turned away and had her appointment canceled due to not arriving 20 minutes prior to her appointment. Really 3 minutes makes that much of a difference? Especially when there was no mention of it in the text and have screen shots to prove it. Extremely unprofessional place and I would hope that they would have cared more about womens health than this. Sounds more like they had a scheduling issue and needed to make room or any other possible scenario. I would not trust these people with my health or the health of a child if this is how they treat people. Especially a scared young woman who was trying to find out if she had cancer.

The front desk staff was super helpful and making my appointment and checking in was easy! They made sure I knew what to expect and knew where everything was since I had never been to this office before. The lab staff was great and made the experience a bit more comfortable and easy (even though lab work is never fun) they made it bearable. They made sure to go over what to expect with the testing. Dr. Turner was awesome! She listened to all my concerns and made me feel at ease!! She has great bed side manner! Overall both the Ankeny and Downtown locations have been fantastic to work with throughout my pregnancy and I look forward to continuing to work with them!

At first, they seemed accommodating during this CVID time and bringing children to appointments, but that's where my praises end. Immediately Dr. Gessner diagnosed me as high risk (without even receiving my full history from my previous doctor). She then proceeded to order unnecessary tests. When I declined some, I was met with disapproving looks. I got the feeling that these tests were not for my benefit but rather to cover herself. At one appointment I was told it would just be a check up and ultrasound, but when I got there they tried to get me to do another type of unnecessary invasive exam to which I declined. Then was directly told in a very unprofessional tone from the doctor herself, "Well tell me what we're doing at this appointment then." At this same appointment, I was told I needed to take a certain STD test. I asked why and was told it was state law. Again not being from Iowa, I declined at that time. After I went home and researched and consulted my previous OB in another state, I found there is no such law for any state. This was INFURIATING. After this incident, I never went back. Rudeness, unprofessionalism, and lying is what I experienced at this practice. Not to mention the constant berating for the CVID vaccine. I could continue with ways other situations were handled during my care, but I won't. If you want care where you are involved in the decisions for your own body, don't go here.
