I recently went to this location to purchase some paint to match my Mother's car which she sideswiped the garage wall while parking in the garage. The fender looked to me like it needed lots of repairs but I thought I would just touch it up with paint. The owner of Universal Autobody came out to match the paint and he noticed that it was probably just drywall and white paint on the fender so he brought out a buffer and buffed off the drywall and white paint. I couldn't believe my eyes! The bumper looked better than new! I was so thrilled!! He could have sold me some paint (that I didn't need) but he was so honest and so nice to buff the paint on the car and make it look so good. I am so grateful that there are still some incredibly honest and amazing business owners in Calgary. I will recommend this business to everyone! I have honestly never had a worse experience with an autobody shop. During the hailstorm of 2012, my car got 8500 dollars worth of damage and I took it into the shop. The receptionist was very nice and everyone said it would only take 5 days to complete the work and that they would give me a call. They didn't so I called them on the 5th day and they said it would be ready the following Monday (while being very rude and passive-aggressive). I called them on Monday because they once again didn't call me, and they were very rude again, and told me that it would be ready in 30 minutes and that they would call me when it was ready. Five hours later, they still had not called, and I called them because I needed my car back very badly. Upon calling, I got put on hold for 10 minutes and when the guy answered, he yelled at me, telling me that it could take longer than expected if things didn't go perfectly but that it would be ready in 4 more days. I was very put off - 30 minutes turned into 4 days? And not even the decency to call to tell that my car would not be ready as expected. I have still not gotten my car... I will be going somewhere else in the future. Horrible customer service. read more
