I was not at all surprised to find that Victoria was booked out (because she is THAT GOOD). However, the universe brought me an opportunity to connect with Simply Reiki's, massage therapist, Angelica Torres, for a Sunday morning appointment. I had never experienced a Reiki treatment with massage therapy (I added the hot stones + aromatherapy) and OMG it was surreal! It was the quiet, physical healing that I needed in that moment of sitting with utter chaos in my nervous system. What also blew my mind was Angelica's intuitive gifts. I was not expecting that, but she read me like a book before she even laid hands on me, and without me telling her one word about what I was going through. Her presence was gentle, grounded, and comforting like a soothing balm. Her energy, and her words were incredibly powerful and validating and exactly what I needed to hear that day. (Bonus she spoke to me in Spanish!) She's a true energy worker and worth every penny. I highly recommend Angelica for the massage + reiki treatments. You will be glad you did. She did her work and my chakra's were more open - a few were looking pretty bad. I know everyone's experience is diffrent - both times I've left feeling INCREDIBLE! We conversed about why I was there and her vibe was easy and honest: like talking to a wide friend. She checked my chakras then went to work. The overall experience was comfortable and clarifying. I left and was feeling better for days after. Often time we store energy in our bodies when stressed, triggered, or traumatized which causes blockage. I'm thankful for her healing work in releasing areas of blockage yet, getting to know me first. After our session, she gave me homework I.e. meditation, smudging, affirmations and the reasons behind them. I highly recommend Indigo lightpath and look forward to my next visit!

Alanna invited numerous locals to participate in a shop small, shop local event, and advertised it in a magazine. Really community focused :) . It was such fun! The space is lovely - both the foyer as well as the actual hot room (that wasn't heated during the market). There's high ceilings, LOTS of natural daylight, and mirrors on two walls - pretty awesome for a fitness center! Also, we couldn't help but notice how clean the rest rooms are - which have 2 showers (apparently in the men's room too). I sold a lot of my items at the market, and also enjoyed meeting other vendors. Alanna scheduled a wine night for the studio on Dec 20th and I'll be coming in with friends to take 6:30pm inferno hot Pilates, and then stay around for wine night! Fun, fun, fun :)

It was my first time and the monks took their time to patiently teach me the different positions for meditation. After a 20 minute meditation the chants came and they were heavenly; we walked around in circles and then after the session was over, we went to a different room for the teaching. The master spoke so wisely and so calmly;it felt like I was in peace with my mind for the first time in my life. After that, they gave us food. Free food. WOW Free meditation Free teaching Free food Noble people. I am so glad there are still superior beings in this world. Thanks Chung Tai Zen Center, you are a true blessing from God.

A friend mentioned this place on twitter and I decided to Google and see what it was about. I've…read morebeen wanting to get into meditation for some time now. I went to their website and noticed that they offer free meditation classes, free tai chi classes, along with other classes. I decided to sign up for the meditation class and I am there now every Wednesday. The classes last 12 weeks I believe. Upon entering the Center you are immediately welcomed by the people at the desk. Shifu also greets you and you just feel like you belong. The energy in the center is amazing. You are at peace when you enter. You are surrounded by kind minds. The meditation sessions are two hours long. The first session is where we meditate and the second session is the dharma talk where we learn about Buddhism. I have only done meditation here. I have yet to try out the other classes that are offered. This is a great place and anyone looking for a fresh start or just an introduction to peace of mind this is a great place to start and you will feel like family.
