My wife and I went here for fertility treatment. Not only were the results of their tests incorrect, but they wasted our time and money over the span of 6 months. They were unable to find and treat the underlying causes for our fertility issues, while RMA (MUCH BETTER CHOICE) was able to treat us immediately. Their billing department is inept and slow. They misidentified visits, caused problems with our insurance, and took over a year to send us invoices for appointments. I used to be a patient of Diamond Institute, who I loved. Since the new company took over, things feel much more business. The staff now is very nice, but I don't always want to see the technician. I would highly discourage any person dealing with fertility issues from using this clinic. This practice has caused me nothing but headaches from the beginning. I should have switched clinics in the beginning at the first sign of red flags. Initial concerns related to becoming pregnant and past medical history were dismissed on multiple occasions. I was frequently given one set of instructions by the doctors and another set of instructions by the nurses, leading to confusion during an already emotional time. Lastly, it is clear that this practice is concerned about money over patient care. My diagnosis code was suddenly changed without my knowledge, leading to weeks long back and forth between my insurance and the billing department. A year after finally leaving the practice, I received a bill without notice due to the billing department's incompetence. The entire experience with this clinic made a difficult time in my life vastly more difficult. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. I wasted my last fertility opportunity with these incompetent people. While the doctors provide basic care, the practice's poor and lackluster communication creates a horrible bottleneck when it comes to ordering medicine and ensuring that there is appropriate coverage in a timely fashion. They also work with an out of network surgical center and they are not forthcoming with this information. They take no responsibility for their poor communication with leads to additional stress and poor outcomes. If you want stress on top of the stress you're already experiencing as a fertility patient - select them. My previous doctor was very far away and I regret engaging with this office at all. I lost out big time and I'm still paying outstanding bills. Awful! Find an alternative solution. read more

This place is a joke.. They make $2.6 million a year and you would think that they would treat their patients with some respect, instead, this place is like a factory, they take your money and run. Each woman is a number with a dollar sign on her forehead. They pass women around, so you won't get to see the same doctor or have a comfortable relationship with any of them. Multiple doctors looking at you nude, nobody calls you back, nobody cares. The staff is just atrocious, this organization should be embarrassed for the sake of healthcare and seeking this kind of healthcare is not cheap! Its a shame, the doctors are nice and seem to know what they are doing, but maybe they have no other opportunities to be stuck working at this factory. This place is a nightmare and a sham! There are plenty of other places ladies, do your research! read more

Posting a more recent review after I decided to seek care at another clinic all together. While the Hasbrouck Heights location was very convenient for me, the experience seeking and receiving treatment at URA was absolutely terrible. The platoon of phlebotomists they have on staff ranges from mediocre to average. The monitoring is completely dehumanizing, with a different doctor checking you every time and spending less than one minute in the room. They keep having medical students also with them to learn the ropes which makes every monitoring appointment feel like you're on display at a freak show. The platoon of nurses also varies from indifferent to average nice. It's never the same faces, every day of the week you will be served another staff member. The billing department sends invoices without any invoice explanation and when you call them and leave a message, they never call back. So I just don't pay. They also double charge the insurance so make sure to keep track of all the "charges" they submit months after everything is supposedly taken care of. The head nurses couldn't give less guidance and support if you have questions and make you feel like you bother them when you reach out to them. And finally the doctors consultations are barely 10 minutes, no explanation is provided as to the how's and why's of a protocol and you will be blamed that "you're too old, what do you expect at your age" if your results aren't good. The office is old, feels dirty and could benefit from a fresh coat of paint as well. read more

In addition to not being able to explain my girlfriend's infertility after two years, doctors with the bedside manner of a toad, and after us spending thousands of dollars, these people absolutely stink at communicating. They hardly ever shared any information with me on their portal. I always had to login as my girlfriend to see anything other than my semen analysis. They failed to mail me invoices, but always liked to text me when a bill was due, but the link provided never showed a bill. Nothing was emailed to me or posted online either. Then, without a phone call from URA (or atleastva voicemail), they sent me to collections to hit my credit? When I called them up about it, they blamed the postal service for the error despite telling me they made several attempts to mail me something. That's a bold faced lie, as the postal service may fail once, but will not fail regularly. They also lied about why my bill never showed up electronically, when my girlfriend's did. This place is a joke. It's like paying people to make your life worse. If you're going to spend this much because you want to be a parent, go elsewhere. You're better off. It's a difficult, stressful situation, and you don't need to deal with clowns who create even more stress. read more

Dr. Fechner was referred by my OB-Gyn who I absolutely adore and respect (Karen Dias-Martin), so I went to his office without a second thought. He is amazingly, knowledgeable, pleasant, patient, and polite. The staff however is not. Today I received a call from Stephanie Vallejo, the financial manager, for credit card info for the required deposit for a procedure. I gave her the number then asked for the balance, she said $2300, and I asked her,"What does that include? Are you sure that's right because that's not what I remember from my notes? Is the cash going to be withdrawn from my account now, or after service?" She replied, "yep, yep, in full now", and I said Ohhh-kay.. and she just hung up the phone. Then she calls me back a minute later and says the card didn't go through. I explained to her that I just transferred money online from my savings, so give it a minute, and I said "You know, you were very short with me when you called before, and I don't appreciate it." She says "ok", then hangs the line up again. I then check my bank account, and see that she swiped the card twice and withdrew $4600 from my account. I was home sick in bed, and now I had to get on the phone with my bank to explain and have this corrected , after being spoken to rudely, as if I was bothering her asking about details of what I was being charged. I've been upset about this all day, which is what drove me to check Yelp. I'm happy to see that I'm not crazy, or over sensitive, that these staff members are down right unprofessional. Oh and BTW, they supposedly close at 4pm, but they stop picking up the phone at around 3:30, so if you call after that, have fun leaving a voicemail that will be ignored by them the next day anyway. read more

Absolutely disappointed and disgusted with how my time at URA has ended. Your office manager Lenny should be ashamed of himself for not returning my calls. I'm sure it's because I requested my records with the intention of leaving URA. My miscarriage ended in an emergency DNC and an overnight stay in the hospital because your office kept telling me to wait to come in. I called to tell them I was bleeding and ask if what was happening to me was normal and I was brushed off. It took an additional call and discussion with Vicki to actually get an appointment, but I never made it to the appointment because I hemorrhaged the weekend before and had to be rushed to the ER. My regular OB was horrified that your office let me go so long without being monitored after I was told there was no heartbeat. I will be sure to spread the word of how URA dropped the ball big time and encourage others to think twice about seeking care from your facility. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful stuff about Dr. Cho and URA! We owe everything to him! We have two beautiful and healthy children because of him and his medical expertise. We went through so much to have children and no matter what happened Dr. Cho never gave up on us! He worked tirelessly to figure out what needed to be done to have successful pregnancies and I can not thank him enough! He is kind, caring, and goes above and beyond for his patients! The staff at URA are wonderful as well. Everyone there is going through their own journey and it is usually not an easy one and at times very hard emotionally and the staff always went out of their way to be kind, caring and I was treated as a person not just a number and I can't tell you how much that matters, especially when going through so much! I highly recommend this incredible medical practice to anyone experiencing difficulty conceiving. My husband and I presented to Dr. Fechner and his associates after struggling to conceive for a considerable amount of time. He is an extremely intelligent, experienced, compassionate and caring physician who managed our IVF process last year. Due to the care administered at URA, I conceived and delivered a beautiful, healthy little girl. In addition to Dr. Fechner, we also received treatment from his colleagues (examinations and procedures), all of whom were exceptional as well. The staff was always friendly and professional and the phlebotomist was one of the few people ever able to successfully/consistently draw my blood (in my entire life!). I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for assistance conceiving. read more

First we had to wait at least 30 to 45 mins. every visit the nurses who take drew the blood are so poor and careless all the doctors there are using one way and the same way which is the patient is ignorant so we don't tell her anything about her case second they have to do blood work and sonar every week , it doesn't matter if I'm on medication or not third you don't need to see the same doctor every time they tell you we r all the same you can see anyone their appointments takes less than 2 mins and the doctor wants to get rid of you read more

I love each and every doctor at URA. They meet regularly to discuss each patients case. They are diligent with bloodwork and monitoring. The nurses- Vicky and Andrea specifically- are winderful and very compassionate. The office staff and phlebotomists are lovely. Cleo Especially always has a smiling face for early morning monitoring and blood drawing. They return calls promptly. I was sad to read all the negative reviews about URA. I have several friends who have also had excellent experiences with URA as a whole. read more

Infertility is a terrifying issue to face and such a deeply personal problem. For years, I struggled trying to conceive. I finally visited a reproductive endocrinologist and had a terrible experience. A friend then told me about URA and Dr. Cho specifically. When my husband and I finally found the courage to go, we were blown away by his kindness and efficiency. The staff too was warm and always helpful. We tackled my problem together and I now have the most beautiful son in the world. Sure it was expensive but I believe it was worth every penny. I am really pleased that we chose University Reproductive Associates. After seeing specialists and trying for years, we were told IVF was our only option. We had consultations with several clinics in NJ, and we chose URA as we were really impressed with the facility and the knowledge and time Dr. McGovern gave us. He laid out our options and explained the science behind it all. He was the only doctor that we saw that didn't immediately try and get us to sign up for IVF. He tried to find the easiest option to get me pregnant, and after two simple tests, we all decided that IVF would be our best option. A quarter of the way into our IVF, Dr. McGovern and Eric, the head embryologist, uncovered a serious fertility issue with me that all other doctors had missed - and it was the reason we had been unsuccessful all of this time. He called me and we came in for an office visit where he compassionately laid out the issue (an issue that reduced my chances of conceiving significantly) and most importantly to me, he detailed the fresh plan of action - a new custom round of IVF (as they all are at URA.) I left that day with hope and confidence in my reproductive team. It took us a few tries with tweaking of the drug and supplement regiment and a little out of the box thinking (Dr. McGovern had a theory, so we tried a procedure that is rarely done.) I'm delighted to share that he was right, and as I sit here I'm almost 11 weeks pregnant with a very strong pregnancy. If it wasn't for URA, I truly believe my pregnancy would not have happened. All of the doctors study each patient's file and monitor you almost daily during your cycles, looking for ways to improve your chances of conceiving. The level of care from both the doctors and nurses is unparalleled. They have several locations and I could walk to their Hoboken location for monitoring where I saw Dr. Wolf almost daily during my cycle. She answered my daily reel of questions and supported me fully. Again, a huge thank-you to Dr. McGovern, his nurse Andrea Costanza, Eric & William in the embryo lab, Dr. Wolf and the entire team at University Reproductive Associates, you all have made our ultimate dream come true :-) read more

I called this md this morning for an appointment but was told I couldn't be seen til sept. I then explained to the young woman that my situation was urgent. I explained that I was on chemotherapy and in very poor condition.The chemo raises your blood sugars tremendously but the young lady apologized and said she could help me! Struggling with infertility has been one of the hardest challenges I have faced. I have felt very alone and isolated during this process mostly because people love to share their opinions and what THEY think you should be doing or should have done and for that I have chosen to keep my struggle private. With that being said, I have been blessed and very fortunate to have been referred to URA (Hasbrouck Heights). The staff, from the front desk, the amazing nurses, surgery center and of course my doctor, Dr. Fechner have really made this time in my life a very great experience. They have always kept me well informed (I knew what was expected of me) and I have really felt cared for. The service provided to me was nurturing and individualized. After calling and waiting for A MONTH for Dr. Cho to call me back I finally got in touch with him today. DR. CHO called back YELLING - YES YELLING! with frustration that the nurse told him to call me back today... I have never...ever...been so upset and shocked from a conversation with a doctor.... I am TERRIFIED of DR. CHO. Full story: 9/13/13: my 2nd meeting with Dr. Cho. He told me to call him next week for instructions on taking estrogen prescription given potential conflicts with my antibiotics med. 9/20/13: called the office and left a message for Dr. Cho to call me back. No response. 9/30/13: left another message for Dr. Cho and no response, again. 10/11/13: left 3rd message with the front desk letting her know that it is my 3rd time leaving a message with Dr. Cho. The front desk lady said she will have a nurse call me back instead. I said ok AS LONG AS the nurse is aware of the proper instructions from the Doc. A nurse calls me back 15 mins. later CLUELESS about my conversations with Dr. Cho and having not read my chart at the office. After spending time trying to explain and correct the nurse's lack of information on my situation, I asked if I could just eliminate this draining process by speaking to Dr. Cho when he is available later today. She agree and told me that the dr. will call me by end of today after 5pm. At 3:30pm, Dr. Cho calls me back screaming at me - saying: "What do you want. You need to call and make an appointment. How can I assess you just over the phone......" And whole lot more but he was talking too fast, too angry and I was too shocked to comprehend everything. I am about to cry now from shock and disappointment and got myself to ask: "I am not sure why you are yelling at me when I have called and left messages for you to return my calls over a month." He said, "I was not aware of any messages!" Then he proceeded to ramble further but by this point, I was too upset to talk. I am definitely not going back here. read more

Dr Aimee is amazing, but it's the staff that makes it a nightmare. I had to take my healthcare elsewhere because I could no longer deal with the rudeness and unprofessional demeanor of the staff-especially the billing department. It's such a shame that the staff has ruined not just mine, but other patients experience--- I found that I was not alone in my feelings when discussing my thoughts several times with other patients while waiting the long (over a hour) wait time for my appointment. Very disappointed that I had to leave Dr Aimee, but happy that I found a doctor with staff that really cares. read more

They took me to collections even after I claimed bankruptcy who paid them off completely because my husband and I divorced. My ex-husband and I signed to destroy our embryos because we divorced and because we couldn't afford to keep them frozen. VERY SAD, we had a successful twin pregnancy 12 years ago and even when I thought I paid for it apparently I didn't. Very upsetting, I couldn't afford the upkeep of my embryos, claimed bankruptcy which paid them and they are still charging me for NOTHING! Yes, I had a successful twin pregnancy but buyer beware especially when you divorce it is a long lasting reminder of infertility, your ties to a person and the PAINFUL decision to destroy your embryos if you cannot afford to keep them. Very upset but blessed that I was able to have my twins who are now 12 years old. I would recommend them as doctors, especially Dr. Cho if nothing goes wrong in the process. Very disappointed that I still have to deal with the financial side of infertility even when they were paid not to mention the reminder that I had to destroy my embryos. Their business practices are very shady, long lasting and not compassionate even when they have been paid off just awful. read more

The entire office just felt "un-clean" and the staff and doctors didn't feel professional at all. I arrived on a couple of occasions where there was complete confusion as to what I was there for and I had to actually tell them what procedure I was supposed to receive. I have to say i am shocked to see some of these ratings(though there arent many online). Maybe because people tend to write reviews when they are upset. In any case, infertility comes with heavy emotions and I get that. We have had nothing short of an amazing experience at URA. We conceived our son there on our second round of IUI. The staff have become so close to us and i even send them Christmas cards every year. I have had 4 friends use URA to conceive and all have had similiar experiences to mine. All are return patients. I find their attention to detail to be unbelievable and the staff really do care. Dr. Cho and his nurse Vicky have been beyond helpful and supportive of me and my husband. We are moving onto have our second baby and i wouldnt put my care in anyone' else's hands. Thank you URA. If you had a bad experience I would urge you to try again! read more

I was treated by a few fertility doctors in California before I met to New Jersey and met with Dr. Peter McGovern and his staff. The URA staff as a whole is by far the least professional and least sympathetic I have ever encountered. I want to share my experience with other women going through this intensely emotional and physically tasking process to ensure that they AVOID both the Hasbrouck Heights and Hoboken offices. Here are the reasons why I recommend you choose another fertility specialist to help you conceive: 1) During my initial consultation with Dr. McGovern, I explained that I had already completed 4 unsuccessful IUI procedures, and was ready to proceed to IVF. Even though IVF was the next step I would have taken with my previous fertility doctor, he said that the insurance company would not approve of me going through an IVF procedure unless I completed 3 more cycles of IUI. I asked him to advocate on my behalf and provide the insurance company with proof of my previous 4 unsuccessful IUI cycles, but he refused. This always bothered me because a doctor is supposed to advocate for a patient, and he didn't even bother to call and attempt to do what I asked. More importantly, I knew that my husband and I would need to pay for IVF, and we were prepared to pay for the IVF procedure, and he still insisted on IUI procedures before moving on to IVF. I have met with several fertility doctors since seeing Dr. McGovern, and they've told me that IUI procedures are rarely successful, and that doctors insist on them merely to collect money. Worst yet, he wasted another 6 months of my time going through the additional useless IUI cycles. The bottom line is that I don't feel that Dr. McGovern listened to any of my concerns and goals, and selfishly advanced his own agenda to make a few thousand dollars. 2) The staff is very slow and unprofessional. They are not diligent when it comes to preparing you for your appointments. They did not communicate effectively, and did not gather the necessary medical records in time for my first appointment even though I offered to assist with this process and submitted all the necessary paperwork. 3) The nursing staff failed to submit my prescription orders to the pharmacy. 4) When the nursing staff finally submitted the prescription orders, they sent the orders to a pharmacy that was extremely inconvenient. They also failed to coordinate with the insurance company to help me obtain the medication I needed to begin my IUI cycles. 5) The nursing staff knew full well that time is of the essence in reproductive procedures, and yet they were nonchalant about my requests to obtain their support with my prescription orders to the pharmacy and insurance companies. They literally told me "they couldn't do anything." As a patient seeking a medical staff's support and assistance for procedures that they are supposed to be experts in, I found their lax attitudes and lack of sense of urgency extremely infuriating. 6) Worst yet, there were several nurses at the Hasbrouck Heights office, and even a female medical doctor at the Hoboken office that refused to wear gloves when taking blood samples from me. When I asked the nurses to please put them on, they seemed shocked and embarrassed that I would ask them to do so. The doctor, however, literally seemed appalled and stated that she "taught nurses how to draw blood and didn't feel she needed to wear them." APPARENTLY SHE BELIEVES THAT HER HEALTH IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN MINE, AND THAT SHE IS INCAPABLE OF TRANSMITTING ANY DISEASES TO ME. SHE DID NOT CARE ABOUT MY HEALTH OR SAFETY AT ALL, AND THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. I complained to a manager at the office, and while she was a great listener, I was so disgusted with the subpar customer service that I never returned to the office. Spare yourself from the pain, frustration, and aggravation that you would experience at URA as you attempt to conceive. You deserve to be treated with the utmost respect and understanding by a caring, sympathetic, and supportive medical staff....that type of staff does not exist at URA, so I strongly suggest you look elsewhere to make your little miracle happen. read more

Don't go to this place unless you want more stress added to your life. They are all about the money, running unnecessary tests and pushing IVF down your throat each and every chance they have, even after being absolutely clear about where we stand on it. The only thing worse than the extreme lack of caring at URA (especially the psychopath that works in their billing dept) is their level of inexperience and knowledge on infertility. It's pitiful. Once again, don't go to URA unless you want to wind up feeling worse about your fertility troubles and completely hopeless. All they see is dollar signs....completely heartless and uncaring. Initially I was comfortable with URA. Dr. Cho was great to me, explained everything well, and we were very comfortable here. After a few failed cycles with Clomid, we had our first IVF cycle. Within a week I developed a huge ovarian cyst that was decreasing my chances of having a good egg retrieval. Instead of canceling my cycle, which I later learned would have been the best choice (but we trust our doctors), I went on, and had a failed IVF cycle. I was expecting that due to the issues, so it wasn't such a hard blow. We continued on to our second IVF cycle. Everything went textbook smooth, I felt amazing all along, as if I knew it was going to be a success. Come the day of the blood results, I get the dreaded call (at work) that it was unsuccessful. I broke down on the phone with the nurse, crying, crying so hard I had to hang up the phone. I really thought I would get a call from the doctor or to arrange a meeting with the doctor. It was then I realized they don't care. It is a factory and I was a sad statistic. Now, over 2 years later, I am finally able to discuss this without balling my face off. Now that I only have one more egg retrieval left covered by insurance, I have to start all over someplace new and pray that the third times a charm. Advice: do your research before starting treatment. Don't do anything you aren't 100% comfortable with. URA makes themselves out to be the best, but they aren't even top 10 in NJ. read more

We had a wonderful experience at the Hoboken office of URA, and more importantly, we now have a 4 month old daughter due to their efforts. Dr. Sundamarong and Dr. Wolf got us through a very difficult time (including a surgery) and the nurses were very kind. I'm not sure what we would have done without their service. read more

I was a patient of Dr. Loughlin and cant say enough good things about her and the staff at URA. Everyone was so wonderful and understanding during my treatment there. The doctors and nurses helped me through my treatment and answered any questions that I had. The billing department was great in taking care of authorization and making sure my procedures would be covered. Every doctor that I met with was professional and attentive. I look back on what could have been a very trying and difficult experience and am very grateful and appreciative for the wonderful medical care that I received.
