We've always been very pleased with every aspect of our stay. Sherry and Lisa are very personable and always responsive to our needs. This is our first stay since the Lodge has changed ownership. We love the facelift they gave it! It looks beautiful! I would leave 5-star review based on our past experiences; however, the new owner made a decision to have the "Continental" breakfast items removed from the lobby as well as the Keurig machine. We rarely ate any of the food items, but we used the coffee pot EVERY morning. My husband gets up very early to read his Bible in the lobby and enjoys a cup of coffee without having to trek across the parking lot to buy a $7 cup of black coffee. There are still small coffee pots in each of the rooms, but let's be real - does anybody ever really use those? We don't. I love that there is a coffee shop on the premises and will support it, mostly for a specialty coffee in the afternoon. But for the price we pay for the rooms, the least the owners could do is provide free coffee in the mornings. I would love to know his reasoning behind this and respectfully request that he reconsider this decision.

At check-in we were offered a drink, and instead of just handing us a key and pointing to the elevator, someone personally walked us to our room and showed us around the property. I have never experienced that before at a hotel, and it immediately set the tone for the entire stay. The hotel itself is absolutely immaculate. Everything feels polished, calm, and thoughtfully designed. You can tell that every detail was intentional, from the atmosphere of the lobby to the way the staff interacts with guests. One thing that really stood out were the luxury touches throughout the room. The amenities included Bulgari soaps, body wash, and even perfume, which made the whole experience feel elevated the moment you walked into the bathroom. The marble soaking tub and spacious shower made the space feel more like a private spa than a typical hotel bathroom. Even outside the room, the design details continue. Right by our door there was literally a small moss garden built into the hallway area, which was such a unique and calming touch. At that point I was joking they might as well add a mini waterfall by everyone's door because the atmosphere was already that peaceful. They also offer thoughtful touches during the day like dessert hour, which made the stay feel even more special. It wasn't just a place to sleep -- it felt like a full experience. As someone who works in hospitality and kitchens, I naturally notice service and details more than most people. I have to say this hotel truly impressed me. This is honestly the level of hotel I would want to run or build one day. What I loved most is that everything felt warm and welcoming, not stiff or overly formal. Having been to Thrive Coffee and even in the lower floors for Auburn events I was not exactly sure how to get into it. However, there is a separate valet entrance. We were greeted immediately by a host who showed us around and brought us to the 6th floor to The Library where we were given lemonade with an option to spike it. This was not a wait in line for someone to help you. This was a concierge service the whole time. Our host brought us to the room and showed us around, who doesn't love an iPad to control your thermostat, your blackout shades, tv, and music. The room is deathly quiet. You can actually hear yourself think. The marble bathroom with the tv in the mirror, the separate water closet, shower, and bathtub with Bvlgari amenities is stunning. The bed is uber comfortable with high thread count sheets. The bar cart with items for mixed drinks is something I have never seen in the thousands of room nights ai have stayed all over the world. All and all this is a treasure. I hope I am able to stay here many more times. If you have an Amex Platinum card they have outstanding amenities that were available at this point...including free valet parking, free breakfast, and $100 voucher for restaurant or spa.

We found this cabin on VRBO and vacationed here twice, so far. Incredibly nice owners and a…read morebeautiful house. It's not right on the lake, but up on a hill above the owners' house. But that shouldn't be and hasn't been a problem. There's an included six-passenger golf cart to ride down the hill and back up (and I guess to ride anywhere else, although there's really nowhere else to go within golf cart range). The house itself is more than a cabin. It is three levels of wood-walled beauty, inside and out. The main floor has a remote-controlled gas fireplace, a smallish TV and sound system, and several recliners. There is a dinette table with seating for maybe 8 and a kitchen with an island. The main bedroom is here, with no en suite bathroom...you have to leave the master bedroom to pee. But it is a large bedroom with east- and south facing windows. The lake is to the north. Outside, towards the lake, there's a protected wooden deck with a bench and a very large patio table and chairs. A screen door leads out to the gas grill and front porch. Heading up, there is a loft with two twin-sized beds hanging from chains. I never slept in these, incredibly. There's a desk area at the top of the stairs, overlooking the main level and a small balcony that looks south. Nothing too exciting here. There's a stairwell on the main level down to the lower level that begins right outside of the door to the main level bathroom and bedroom. I was never drunk enough to accidentally tumble down it, but beware this navigational hazard. And if you are taller than maybe 6'0" (I'm 6'4" and had to duck quite a bit), you need to proceed with caution, as the 90-degree turn to the left halfway down has a low clearance. The downstairs has a large common area, with a couch, big TV, gaming console, and a kitchenette with fridge. There's also a bathroom with a cool glass block shower. A bedroom with double bunk beds has a utility room with a washer and dryer...these come in handy if you'll be here for more than a couple of days. Head outside on the bottom level and you'll find a pleasant area with a fire pit (and supplied and seasoned wood), a wooden deck with a picnic table, which is covered by the wooden deck of the main floor. A concrete walk curves around and up to the parking area and main floor porch. The main floor porch has some comfy, rustic, wooden rocking chairs that are ideal for sitting in, drinking coffee, and appreciating a quiet morning. This is also how you enter the cabin when you get here. Overall, our two stays here were great. We'll be back, at some point. If you are looking to visit the area, check it out.
