I honestly don't even know where to start because staying here felt like walking into my own dream of what hospitality should be. From the moment we arrived, the service was on another level. At check-in we were offered a drink, and instead of just handing us a key and pointing to the elevator, someone personally walked us to our room and showed us around the property. I have never experienced that before at a hotel, and it immediately set the tone for the entire stay. The hotel itself is absolutely immaculate. Everything feels polished, calm, and thoughtfully designed. You can tell that every detail was intentional, from the atmosphere of the lobby to the way the staff interacts with guests. One thing that really stood out were the luxury touches throughout the room. The amenities included Bulgari soaps, body wash, and even perfume, which made the whole experience feel elevated the moment you walked into the bathroom. The marble soaking tub and spacious shower made the space feel more like a private spa than a typical hotel bathroom. Even outside the room, the design details continue. Right by our door there was literally a small moss garden built into the hallway area, which was such a unique and calming touch. At that point I was joking they might as well add a mini waterfall by everyone's door because the atmosphere was already that peaceful. They also offer thoughtful touches during the day like dessert hour, which made the stay feel even more special. It wasn't just a place to sleep -- it felt like a full experience. As someone who works in hospitality and kitchens, I naturally notice service and details more than most people. I have to say this hotel truly impressed me. This is honestly the level of hotel I would want to run or build one day. What I loved most is that everything felt warm and welcoming, not stiff or overly formal. The Laurel is THE luxury experience in Auburn. I have stayed at all the other hotels downtown and this is the best. Everything is different in a great way than so many hotels. Having been to Thrive Coffee and even in the lower floors for Auburn events I was not exactly sure how to get into it. However, there is a separate valet entrance. We were greeted immediately by a host who showed us around and brought us to the 6th floor to The Library where we were given lemonade with an option to spike it. This was not a wait in line for someone to help you. This was a concierge service the whole time. Our host brought us to the room and showed us around, who doesn't love an iPad to control your thermostat, your blackout shades, tv, and music. The room is deathly quiet. You can actually hear yourself think. The marble bathroom with the tv in the mirror, the separate water closet, shower, and bathtub with Bvlgari amenities is stunning. The bed is uber comfortable with high thread count sheets. The bar cart with items for mixed drinks is something I have never seen in the thousands of room nights ai have stayed all over the world. All and all this is a treasure. I hope I am able to stay here many more times. If you have an Amex Platinum card they have outstanding amenities that were available at this point...including free valet parking, free breakfast, and $100 voucher for restaurant or spa. read more

Had a few complications when checking in but was compensated by the manager Joe. Food was good overall; however I would recommend not getting the Laurel Burger. It just needs some sauce to it since it felt like a bland burger. They had different hours of the day that offered hor d'ouvres, dessert, light dinner, etc. Which was a plus Went to the spa for a massage with my partner and the service was good. Had Jose and he was very attentive. Would definitely go back to the spa, but I think the hotel just has a little more fine-tuning that needs to be done. read more

I don't know who is managing their socials but apparently they don't bother having nice customer service. Such a shame since it's supposed to be such a high-end experience. I visited recently and decided to use the spa. To be fair, I'm comparing the experience to other spas in a similar price range. They market the hotel as a 5 Star, so that was my expectation going in. Overall, clean modern, all good. The mens shower area lacks pegs for your towels and robes. Seriously? Had to move a basket to keep from laying them on the floor. Steamroom was ok, but no sauna, no spa tub. For the prices they charge, I expected more. This is the first spa I have been to that did not have a sauna. The massage was adequate. But nothing distinguishing. There are two other spas in Alabama I've used, one in Opelika and both are far better and about 40% less. I suppose that's how I would sum it up ... nice, pleasant but not a good value considering what they charge. There are better options available. read more

We made a reservation with the only available time being at 3:15 or 9 pm we choose the earlier. After paying a $20 cover fee for the two of us we tried to make our way up to the rooftop but the elevators wouldn't give us access. After calling and telling them of our reservation they told us they would send someone down so we waited a good ten minutes and no one appeared. We got in the service elevator with a worker at the hotel and made it up to the top. Once we got onto the patio there was no one to greet us until a server noticed us and approached us asking about our reservation and then informed us of the open seating as first come first serve which was confusing as we paid for a reservation and it was fairly empty. Service was consistent after that and drinks were good but overall experience was lacking and there was food and drinks being taken to the wrong tables throughout the entire dining experience. read more

The spa needs a lot of attention. My daughter and I went for massages. My massage was in the nail room, where they put a massage table. It is next to the front desk so was very loud with groups of women checking out. When I brought this to the attention of the woman checking us out, she said sorry we have a large group in today. There were also no hand towels in the bathroom and glasses were left in the waiting area and the women's lounge for the entire 2 hours that we were there. The hamper for used bathrobe was overflowing and needed to be emptied. The dispenser for conditioner in the shower was broken. For the price that they charge, the experience was disappointing. read more
