Damn, these were pretty good. Probably the best of the pastel de nata's that we tried in…read morePorto/Lisbon. I wanted to not like them because they're a massive tourist attraction but they were incredible, not as sweet as the ones from the other places, fresh out of the oven, super flaky crust. I'm a fan of a higher custard to crust ratio and this definitely hit the spot. Remember to add a bit of cinnamon on top to bring out the custard flavor more.
There are three queues: one for sit-down service, one for the historical counter (whatever that may be, we didn't stick around long enough to check that out), and one for takeaway which is the fastest and basically had no line, where you can take one or four and enjoy them in one of the nearby parks. Also a gift shop a few steps away in case you want more Pasteis de Belem!
