Best Pastel de Nata that we have had! Inexpensive, and excellent! Great espresso, bread and pastry. Definitely worth a visit!

I loved Pastelaria Alfama Doce. It's delicious and reasonably priced. I went right when they opened (8:00 a.m.) and there were already customers waiting. I loved that they have a huge selection of savory pastries. The cheese one was my absolute favorite; I also loved the sausage one. For sweets, the Alfama pastry was delicious. I got a few others, and all were good. I also got a decent cappucino. Staff is friendly and everything only cost about €6. If in Alfama, I highly recommend.

Plain bun, chocolate croissant, bean tart, coconut tart ("bolo de coco"), and classic egg tart ("pastel de nata")

While the pastries may not the best, the prettiest, or the most refined, they are some of the cheapest and some of the best value you'll find in Lisbon. Using the ubiquitous pastel de nata as a benchmark, most other bakeries will charge at least 90 cents (e.g. A Padaria Portuguesa), and in general will be around 1 euro (e.g. Mantegeira). Pasteis de Belem is 1.10, Confeitaria Nacional (oldest bakery in Lisbon) is 1.15, and Rainha Dona Amélia is 1.25. The best in my opinion is Mantegeira. Here, the pastel de nata and the other tarts are good. But best of all is how local and friendly the staff are. There is limited, rustic, no-frills seating in the side area. This is a great local spot in the lovely Alfama neighborhood, which is an absolute must-see.

We found this lovely family owned Pastelaria, in Alfama. The location is very cozy, with limited seating but overflowing with with charm and incredible quality. The food cases are full of delicious variety. Everything. We ate. Was amazing. The coffee was delicious and the service was great.

My ideal breakfast!

I love this pastry shop. This morning, my fiance and i were overwhelmed with all the sweet and savory options they had for us. The owner was very warm and helpful. He gave us descriptions of all the baked goods and prepared some delicious coffee to enjoy. I enjoyed every bite of everything i had. The coffee was also very good. I will be back tomorrow to stuff as many egg tarts and chorizo breads into my belly and bag.

Good local place for coffee and pastry!!!

This cafe might be the most local ever in the town. I've seen lots of locals to have coffee and breakfast. It gets busy but the service is really good. I tried 4 different pastries at once lol. Everything was so good. If I live in this town, I would come here every single day That's how much I liked this place!!!

Not that great for me. Coffee was watery and morning treats subpar. Oh well. Next stop.

Review Highlights - Pastelaria Alfama Doce

This fantastic pastelaria makes pasteis de nata (egg custard tarts), flavored with just a hint of lemon rind to distinguish from other pastelerias nearby.
