I'm not sure how to feel about my experience with this place. I booked a 6pm judo class through ClassPass and I drove an hour to try the judo class (it's the only judo class in OC on ClassPass) only to find the studio closed. Granted it's on me that I chose to drive a while. I called them and they offered to let me take the Jiu Jitsu class at 7:30pm for no extra charge that supposedly includes judo takedowns but I didn't want to sit in the parking lot for an hour and a half waiting. Although I appreciate the offer/effort to make things right, they seemed already aware of the issue with Classpass's listing when I called which is the part that is the most frustrating. Idk when the judo class was discontinued but I've been following this place for a while on the app and the judo class has been there for at least a couple of months and they haven't removed it off the schedule yet? That feels kind of careless to me so I hope they really do fix the issue tomorrow morning like they said they would. His tone didn't sound very apologetic over the phone and I'm sure running a studio has its challenges but if I was a small business owner I would not allow an issue I'm aware of to continue to exist and turn away potential newcomers before they can even try a class out. I'm sure the classes are fine but if you're aware of an issue do something about it asap! And if you're having issues taking it off the schedule then there are other professional solutions like at least write a note about it in the description or class bio or something?? like I get that studios don't care for ClassPass people but the whole thing could have been managed way better tbh. I don't like to leave bad reviews but I hope this review will get the attention needed to fix the issue or help someone else from ending up in the same situation I did, booking a class that apparently doesn't even exist anymore. I've been training @ Untamed Jiu-jitsu for about 7 months now under Professor Andrew, and it has been the best decision I've made in my life. I started training jiujitsu as an alternative workout to the mundane gym routine.. and I've lost 25lbs and in the best shape of my life. Aside from good health benefits, The facility is clean and well kept. Unlike other training gyms I've been too.. Untamed facility is clean and the mats are rigorously cleaned on the daily basis before training sessions begin. There is also a nice area to change into my gi (kimono) and also place down my bag during training. The school itself is extremely family orientated. they have 3 different training sessions for the different age groups. Some of the parents even train in the adults class after their kids training in the juniors class. People are respectful of each other and mindful of the children and families that attend. As a first timer, I was always under the fear of training is such a crazy sport yet alone showing up for the first time to such a place. But I was welcomed by the entire gym and everyone is very friendly, respectful and genuinely cares. I've built some good friendships from the people I train with and it's been great! I would definitely give it 2 thumbs up if you're thinkin about getting a good workout, losing weight, meeting genuine people, learning self defense and training martial arts! read more

I've been going to Untamed for about a month and a half now and I'm thoroughly enjoying the experience. Classes are at a convenient time after work and sometimes I'm even able to get in training on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The people here are awesome and to tell you the truth, I was a little afraid walking in myself not knowing what to expect but I came out of the first two classes really enjoying it. The professor and coaches are absolutely solid mentors. On top of that, the other students are also really good people who help you out when you need it. The training is really growing on me and although I'm traveling a lot for work, I find myself mentally sparring in my head and working out during my trips. Training here has me more motivated to improve myself physically and mentally. This is hands down one of the best decisions I've made recently. read more

I first walked into this gym to try out a free class and to try something new in my life. I am here a year later and a completely different person thanks to the people in this gym. There is no ego at all, but everybody cares about one another and empathizes on how to get better.
