When I first came by here I was looking for a sport to keep me active and supplement my wrestling. My dad first brought me over after passing by it on the way home and from the first day I loved it. Now Im training 5 days a week and wouldn't have it any other way. Jiujitsu is unlike other martial arts. Professor Andrew and Coach James are very observant, they pay attention to the smallest details and helped me improve my techniques on many occasions. 2. The students in the class have a good safety awareness and are great at matching the intensity of their sparring partners to keep the class injury free. 4. The class is very organized, everyone is always doing something, and not sitting around chitchatting. This is a great environment for learning and growing. July 2023 I've trained at more than a dozen of gyms, and I can say definitively that Caveirinha is one of the best gyms from my experience. The academy itself is a good size and has some nice mat space, also very clean. I got there pretty early so I was able to see the kids classes go on before I trained. The Professor at the academy was very knowledgeable & good with the kids. When adults classes started I felt completely welcomed. The Black belt at the academy was really detailed with teaching his techniques which is a huge plus.
