This is a long one, but i really wanna warn as much people as I can. So let me start from the very beginning so that this all makes sense, at the end of March of 2018 I was involved in a really bad care accident that nearly killed me, I had fractured my back in two spots, bruises ribs, whiplash, hematoma on my chest & stomach it was pretty bad. I was googling where to go for treatment when I found Growing care which is also known as Portland Family Health I decided to give them a try and go there because it was closer to home. I can't say anything horrible about the staff the massage therapists are great had no problems with them, but the chiropractors are always tried working on me when the surgeon I was going to told me not to get any back adjustments because they would make my back feel worse, which was very true. I had literally broken my back, back adjustments make you feel even more worse the next day they did not make feel better, so essentially it prolonged my pain until I had enough and said no.. But this not where they screwed me over. In September of 2018 I was involved in another car accident, not as bad of a car accident but it still prolonged my injuries, so I continued going to Growing care because my insurance opened another pip claim so they were going to cover it. I'm not a complete moron when it comes to clinics, especially chiropractic/massage clinics, because I worked in a few for a few years, and never have I ever seen anyone being treated the way I was treated. The worst person at this clinic would be the manager Liz because she has no idea what she is doing. The part that the screwed me over is that, from the dates of 5/31/18 - 6/13/18 they NEVER billed my insurance company, go figure. Leaving my to pay an outstanding balance of $1,400 dollars. HOW DO YOU WORK IN A CLINIC, BUT YOU'RE NOT ACCURATE?! It makes no damn sense. So I didn't work for a while, after my car accident, I didn't work for about maybe a year or so until I got back into work part time working 2-3 days a week. I still don't work as much as I used to, I lost my job currently due to personal issues about 6months ago, and due to COVID-19 I haven't been able to attain another job. Growing care has been harassing me for a year and and 4 months to pay for that bill, a bill in which I thought that was billed to Allstate, even my attorney told me don't pay it until we figure it out. So I wait and wait, the manager at Growing care still harassing me over $1,400 which mind you they made OVER 30k off me and my mom going there. They ALONE mad over 20k ON ME.... just one car accident was 20k and the other one was probably around 10-15k.. and then I referred my mom to go there because she was in the car with me in September when we crashed. They made around 10k off her. So they made around 40k maybe even more all together and they are being petty over $1k that I doubt even have? Around April 16 & April 27th they threatened to take me to collections if I didn't pay, which left me scrambling for money, and asking to borrow money from people so I could pay. Let me get this straight, I have no problem paying for something that I owe, I'm a very correct person, and if I owe a bill I don't want it hanging over my head. That's why I was working with my attorney to see what I owe and what I don't owe. So I ended up paying for it, because my credit score is already shit, and I don't want a collecting agency to harass me as well. But when YOU don't do your job the right way, and don't BILL the insurance company, I have a problem with that, because that really screwed me over. I found out 1 year and 4 months later that they never even billed my insurance company leaving me to pay for something I could barely afford. Now the part that I mentioned where I've worked in clinics before? I've seen my clinic manager write off 1-3k off patients who couldn't afford to pay it off because they were severally injured and they had racked up 20-30k in bills that insurance already covered. Mind you that they are MAKING thousands of dollars, and they come after me over 1k that I don't even owe. Liz if you're reading this you really screwed up.
