I came across Mia Emma Love's Instagram when I was looking for a decorator for my son's birthday. My son is 5 and he's into video games. His wish was to have a Five Nights at Freddy's birthday party. I reached out to Andrea on 01/10 since my daughters birthday was about 5 weeks away and I hadn't heard from her. I feel like this was not professional when I paid her the $1200 in full by November, I expected her to reach out to me to start planning. On 01/16/22, my sister/mother was sent to the ER. On 01/18/22, she passed away. My life and heart shattered into millions of pieces that day. From 01/11 to 01/13, we briefly communicated with videos and photos of my home and what I am wanting for my daughters birthday. On Friday, 01/14, she put together a little presentation for me to review. I assume this didn't take long to google photos and place on a slideshow for me. The presentation was only a few pages long. Andrea didn't even have to research vendors as she already has a bunch of them that she works with. With all of that being said, I am baffled, disappointed, and heartbroken that she will not reimburse me some of my money since I canceled with her. She did very little labor. My best friend canceled her services for me since I couldn't speak on it due to the loss of my sister in less than a week. This reimbursement could be useful as I could give it to my 14 year old niece who just lost her mother. Instead, Andrea told my best friend that she already worked for the $1200, there are no refunds, and that I could use her services in one year. Why on earth would I ever want to do business with someone that has poor business practices and provides zero grace to her clients? No thank you! On Friday, 01/28, I sent Andrea a text letting her know that I sent her an email. I wanted to open my heart up to Andrea and reach out the best way that I know during this tragic season asking for some kind of a refund for my niece. I did NOT receive a response. With my negative experience with Andrea, this is why I needed to take some time to write a review on how Andrea runs her business and treats potential clients during a hardship. Additionally, she may have stated no refunds over the phone to my best friend, I was never provided a contract by Andrea, I was never advised of her cancellation policy, and it does NOT state any where on her website and social media sites about a refund policy. Check out this link to the California Refund Policy Law attached: https://oag.ca.gov/consumers/general/refunds Per the law, she absolutely needs to refund me and in full. However, I'm not asking for a full refund as I understand time is money and she did complete some work for me, but it definitely was NOT $1200 worth. Also, I do not see her business located on any business websites like "Better Business Bureau" which is concerning. I hope Mia Emma Love Events is a legit business. I hope and pray this review brings you understanding how unethical Andrea's business practices are. Please be mindful if using her services and ensure she creates a contract for you. read more

But Andrea was communicative, and made sure I had all of the information I needed to make desserts for the party. Andrea helped me turn the vision I had for my daughter's birthday party into a reality. From the initial meeting and site visit to the actual day of the event, Andrea was available and in touch with me to coordinate ideas and vendors.
