Who else grew up watching C.O.P.S. on TV? I know I can't be the only one and the theme song will live on forever in our hearts (and now my head as I wrote this review). I wish I had a cooler story behind why I checked-in on Yelp to my local police department and why I'm now eligible to write a review, but I don't. After an unfortunate situation with a Door Dasher when I was recently out of town, I was advised to submit a police report to document a giftcard that I was owed by the "Dasher." This was the first time I've ever stepped foot inside any police department and was excited to finally learn where my local department was even situated. Unfortunately for me it's on the complete opposite of town from where I live and hope I never have to call them for an emergency. This station is nicely maintained and has great staff willing to answer any questions you may have. I wish I had caught the dispatcher's name as she was extremely helpful in directing me what to do. Unfortunately I had to wait almost an hour and a half before an officer could meet with me for 5 minutes to just put an incident number on his business card and send me on my way. I wish I could sit in this station and people watch all day in the lobby because I saw some interesting situations come through during my wait time. But I also don't wish I ever have a reason to come here to do so! Thank you to the Upland PD for what you do to keep this city safe! read more

Animal rescue department officer D Hoos badge number 2250 gave me a ticket pc597.7 for having my dog in a crate properly secure and with ice cubes in his crate the weather was 88 degrees my dogs internal temperature was 94 degrees I asked to speak to her supervisor and her ego got in the way things escalated and I was given a ticket my dog was never inside of a vehicle he had free air flowing and he was being watched through a window to make sure he was always taken care of .. she the officer does not have a understanding of the law or of what proper care for a animal is now my job won't allow me to have my dog at work and it has been hard and un motivating to keep driving to work in upland I feel extremely harassed read more

I received a ticket for not having a parking permit displayed on my car at the Metrolink station. Guess upland police should do some research and learn that the parking permit is mobile and on your phone. 8/2/18 7:15am I contacted the upland police records department about the ticket. I was told how are they supposed to know I had a mobile parking permit? This is the parking service their city uses and they are unsure how it works? I asked could I come in to have the ticket removed and was told the officer would not have wrote a ticket if I had a parking permit. They were not going to remove the ticket and I needed to go through the appeals process. So they made a mistake and I am the one who has to do the leg work to have it corrected? I know they are trying to bring downtown upland back to life but how about having some integrity while doing so. You expect police agencies to be held to a higher standard, but I guess if you've had interactions with some not all officers, it is a role of the dice if they have integrity or not. read more

This has to be the worst police department I'm all of the US. From the police,, detectives, to the sergeants. Still waiting for a call back from the captain so I can't say anything bad.on him yet. But so far it doesn't seem like they care about helping anyone especially the elderly. Its been over 3 weeks and the referral they received from the state for elder abuse they have yet to look into it. Im 100.% for the police, but this one makes all police look bad. Yet they wonder why so many peple are turning against them. Dont doubt it has alot to do with them not doing there job and helping victims. Unfortunately, Upland Police department is hit and miss lately. Received a traffic ticket for dumping out 6 ounces black coffee at a stop. Didn't realize that was ticket worthy since on a day like today at 90degrees the coffee will evaporate within minutes. Meanwhile at the apartments where I live in Upland there are people going through the dumpsters, breaking into cars, parking illegally, smoking weed/drinking publicly and jumping people in the parking lot. None of which seem to be huge on Upland PD's radar because If it was they might do random drive throughs to help out or at least respond to calls in a timely manner. Oh well... but good job on the ticket because everyone knows spilt coffee on the streets of Upland is the real crime. read more

They went above and beyond to assist my boss with a stolen cell phone. They reviewed secturity footage from multiple cameras and businesses in order to find the suspect. Even though it may seem trivial to some, these officers went out of their way to retrieve the stolen cell phone. They 100% saved the day and deserve raises from the department. read more

Look, I mean no disrespect towards anyone, but it is upsetting when you call about suspicious activity of a person hanging out/hiding behind the wall of our backyard (where the city put up bars, a totally restricted area) literally looking at OUR house and the lady dispatcher overlooks it. Her tone wasn't necessary while I'm worried about the safety of my family and home. Felt like she ignored me, interrupted me with "hold on" and put me on hold. She did the same to my dad. Here's something disappointing I called upland pd to report drug use and potential drunk driver parked right across from my duplex for 10 mins I watched these people use drugs have their music so loud two men and a women middle 30 not 17 year olds they drove in like they were drunk and left like they were drunk I had to call back and ask if someone was going to come I was scared why were they on my street in the first place they started to drive off the lady she " they would try and catch up with them" well when they smash into a family or someone leaving the hospital or getting off work how disappointing on top of that you had enough staff to knock on my door after 10 pm today to ask me if my cameras had footage of a silver Sedan who did a hit and run earlier in the day ... another weird thing this was a dark gray sedan could have potentially solved a few crimes today but I guess not. read more

I was playing basketball at a local rec center where I dropped my wallet in the parking lot. It must have fallen out of pocket when I pulled out my car keys, regardless I was stupid and clumsy. I was fortunate to have had an Upland PD officer drive to my home and to help me get it back. It turns out that one of the detectives had taken the time to look me up in the system and make some calls just to get my wallet back to me. It's good to know we have honest detectives who will go out of there way to help the people of this city. When I got my wallet back not a dollar was missing. I am so grateful! I found my stolen equipment being sold on offerup and reported it to Upland police three weeks ago, along with how I could prove the items are mine. After calling the station several times, they gave me the number of the detective. The detective never returned my call. My stuff is still for sale online. Anyone else want to help me out? BEWARE DOWNTOWN UPLAND SHOPPERS. Last Wednesday, I received this unwarranted parking ticket given by Officer West in Downtown Upland. I arrived at Downtown Upland at 2:08PM and my husband and I ate a quick lunch and he got his hair cut. It was 3:30 pm when we arrived back at our car to drive home. The sign said 3 hour parking, but I received a parking ticket at 3:10pm. This would mean that I would have arrived before 12:10pm. I went to fight the ticket at the Police Station today and all they had was one photo of my car which you couldn't even see any chalk on my tires. The officer couldn't tell me what time my car was first chalked, only the final photo. He could not produce two photo for evidence. He said he was not going to dismiss my ticket and that I would need to fight it in court. I do not have the time to fight a $35 ticket and the Police of Upland know this. I will no longer be a customer of Downtown Upland. I hope other Victims of Downtown Upland will speak out as well. I know I'm not the only one! I just checked my locational services on my phone and it says I arrived at Downtown Upland at 2:08pm and left at 3:45pm. That means I arrived at 2:08pm and the officer gave me the ticket at 3:10pm (only 1 hour and 2 min after I arrived). read more

It has come to this: I am more afraid of the Upland police than I am of other individuals viewed as the stereotypical "bad guys". When men or women are entrusted with a badge and a gun, I hold them to a much higher standard of professionalism. In Upland, CA, tragically, the officers I have come into contact with have given me absolutely zero reasons to think that they are acting to "protect and/or serve" me. (1) One officer told me that home security alarms are useless in preventing theft or harm re: the home's occupants. She proceeded to tell me that when alarms go off, they are most often false alarms that take up valuable police time to investigate. My response was one of utter disbelief - I told her that the alarm made me feel safe and that I could not believe she was telling this to a single female. (2) A close family member was insulted by an Upland officer after being issued a traffic ticket. He asked her if she felt like a big deal, driving such a fancy car (a corvette). (3) Unfortunately, my home in Upland is on a street that experiences more than its fair share of accidents due to "missing" STOP signs. The last accident involved an overturned car and the need to block off two streets (both streets leading to my house). When I asked an officer, who was casually leaning against his squad car near one of the blockades, what I should do, his response was "Be creative". He then scolded me for holding up traffic for talking to him instead of just moving along with the rest of the drivers. (4) But tonight... after watching a stone-faced Upland officer "handle" a situation, I'm done. I can't believe that with society's scrutiny of police officer behavior across the nation, that an Upland officer can behave like the one I encountered tonight. And a sergeant at that. He would not allow a handcuffed, 25 year-old black girl to move from a seated position in a patch of overgrown grass to a more comfortable spot. My question: "I'm asking this respectfully - can she move to the porch step?" His answer: "No." My question: "Why?" His answer: "Because she might be hurt." I was then quiet. But when the squad car arrived that would take this girl to jail, the sergeant asked her to stand up, with no questions about whether or not she could in fact stand. He did not check to see if she had any injuries; he had told a lie straight to my face. There was not any concern about her physical well-being - he just wanted her to do what he told her to do and certainly didn't appreciate any input from me. He wouldn't even let me pick the stuck blades of grass from her hair. He told me to get back. This was someone's little girl! This could have been my niece or child - I shudder at the thought. This officer was as cold as ice... no empathy exhibited whatsoever. To him, this young black girl was just somebody to hook-up and haul away. I live close to where this happened. I cried bitterly when I returned home because I was prevented from showing kindness to a girl who sorely needed it. And tonight I contacted my security company and informed them that under no circumstance but my own consent, is the Upland police department to be sent to my home should my house alarm ever sound. I do not want to deal with an Upland officer in any capacity. It would mostly likely be a false alarm anyway. How sad for all of us. read more

Well even after giving irrefutable support to my unwarranted parking ticket claim, all the Upland police would do is keep telling me the single un-time stamped photo they have clearly shows I was parked on 2nd ave at 11Am. I was in La Verne at that time but the police did nothing to verify my support. So unfortunately I have to call the cops who work the traffic division/dept. losers and liars and warn everyone again not to park on 2nd Ave on M-F if you see a yellow mark in the space. And I bet when I go to pay the ticket I wont get a receipt that day and will be told "your receipts in the mail" another way they can rip you off by claiming they never got your fine. Upland PD responded and reach out to us, instructed us to call them when ever we have suspicious activity on our property especially when we are remain closed due to federal advisory. I was instructed to file my report of theft using the online filing feature. One 28 days later and it has proven to be IMPOSSIBLE to get a copy of the report. One of the ladies in the records department kept putting me on hold and sighed loudly as though I was a problem for her to deal with when I called. They need to improve on their online reporting procedures. I gave up on my case and now have to pay to replace my stolen item when the company was willing to replace it at no cost if I could show a copy of a police report. The officers at the Upland Police Department are the most racist and condescending people I have ever met. They have a god-like complex and act above the law. I have seen them pull over folks for being on their cell phone yet I see them all the time driving around the city talking on their phones. I have seen them stop minorities to give them a hard time. I was pulled over supposedly for speeding up Euclid Ave. I was going with the flow of traffic. When the officer approached my car, he asked me if it was my car and asked how I can afford the car I am driving. Why because I am Hispanic? Then proceeded to ask me what I do for work and what am I doing up Euclid. I bet that if I white, these questions would not have been asked. I told him that I don't have to answer such questions and asked him why he stopped me. He told me that he can ask whatever questions he has - he has that right and power. I am writing this review because my cousin and family are being harassed and threatened so we decided to file a report and restraining order on this family. My cousin cannot go anywhere in this city without seeing someone from that family and being threatened. An incident happened on a Sunday evening, around 5 pm, and we were waiting 2 hours for cops to show after they were called and they never did. So we drive to the station to file a report and we get sent away because its a Sunday. Im sorry but if I needed to file a report because my family is in danger I have to wait until the next day? Now don't get me wrong the few times we dealt with the police they were nice but I would think a police department is open at all times in case, God forbid, something were to happen. read more

Okay so I finally decided to write a review for this! I have seriously ALWAYS had the BEST experience with upland police! They are just amazing. I have no idea why these other reviews are so bad. I have gotten stopped a couple of times in upland and ALWAYS for my safety unlike Claremont police(who are very mean and rude), upland police take the time to Ask a few questions and make sure your doing okay. Left and cancelled my report after being told the 3rd time the officer would be out in 10 minutes. There were only 2 other people waiting and they had been waiting just as long and were just as fed up. Got a fix it ticket for a loose headlight bulb. Got it fixed two days later. Got the proof of correction signed off at the department right after. Was told that I could go straight to the court and pay it off. But said I can only pay it off at Fontana. Drove through 45 minutes of fucking traffic only to wait in line for 20 minutes only to be told that I have to come back later when the ticket is in the system. Was also told that I could've just gone to the Rancho Cucamonga court... Be more thorough next time, please. I took a day off of work for all of this only to lose gas and time. read more

In one word I'll describe Upland's Police Officer G. Santana - AWESOME. Recently, we had a gang of teenagers burglarize our home. Money, multiple electronic components, laptops, phones, watches, jewelry, and as well bottles of liquor, lots of stuff had been stolen. Nonetheless, two of the adult teenagers had come back to the crime of the scene all the awhile we waited for the police to arrive. Perfect timing because here comes Officer Santana. Mind you, it's 3am on a Sat morning. He questioned the two men and got them to contact their partners of crime on the cell phone. Whereupon they handed the phone over to Officer Santana and he told those on the phone that in no uncertain terms he wanted all of our stolen property back immediately or he'll personally drive over to where they were and arrest everybody associated with the burglary. Officer Santana drove to where our stolen property was, collected it and brought our stuff back to us. He made us whole again. Details have been omitted but the good deed and professionalism of Officer G. Santana is 100% truth. Thank you Upland Police and especially Officer Santana for what you did. I was born and raised in Upland and lived there for 50 yrs. The Upland Police are the most inept, non-caring, useless and Nosy fuckers around. A couple of years ago I was travelling and parked my coach downtown. During the night , two kids wearing badges knocked on my door and said they got a call that someone was stealing Chairs from the Stone Funeral home which I thought was strange. I explained that I was parked for the night and didn't see anything going on there. I explained my past residency there and told them stories about the town. After that they left. Next morning 5 Cop cars were there to tell me I cant park there Which I have several times before with no problem. We had permission to park from the property owner there,we exchanged niceties etc. We were told to leave which we did because we were getting ready to go to Ontario anyway. I`ll be going back there to visit in June and if I have a problem I will be on the phone with Watch Commander and will be filing FOIA requests and Officer profile Records. By the way back in 2013 Officer Stanley towed my truck away and my neighbors BMW away while parked in the Front of our residences . Fourth Amendment Violations right there and the towing company was Crooked Martinez Towing. The Upland Cops have a little scheme going on with these tow companies. I moved out of CorruptLand 3years ago to Arizona. read more
