Cute shop with more than just cheese! Although the cheese is definitely the spotlight and the friendly associates gave us the rundown on each of their cheeses. They also carry a variety of artisan pantry items and some home decor items. Outside there's a cute cow bench (perfect for photo ops) and picnic tables. We ended up buying the squeaky fresh cheese curds this trip, and excited to come back again to try more of their cheeses next time. read more

Nestled right in Jordan Station, this is a great little cheese emporium. We stopped in to check out their fresh cheeses, which they had a nice selection of. We got their grilling cheese as well as their goat cheese. Didn't get the opportunity to try them in the store but did so when we got home and they were excellent. We also liked their selection of other products - from local wines, pasta and jams. We had a good chuckle on their cheese themed cards that had humors references/memes. Great service as well. It was getting late and they were about to close up but we weren't rushed and they answered all our questions. Stop by either if you're local or you're out of town doing wine tours. Disclaimer: I am not a huge Cheese lover. Upper Canada Cheese Company is worth a visit if you are doing the wineries in the area. Wine and Cheese does go hand in hand for a great culinary experience! My two Cheese lover friends were beyond excited when they were offered to sample the in house made cheese: Niagara Gold Camelot Comfort Cream Smoked Maple Cheese Master Cupboard Guernsey Curds You can even sample any cheese they have from all over the world before purchasing, which is a plus! (Irish Porter Cheddar infused with Porter Beer for sure sounded interesting!) Staff is passionate about cheese and really knowledgeable too! Aside from cheese, there are also other gourmet food product for sale includes jams, marinade and dips..... I had their cheese at a restaurant so I went to the store to buy more because it tasted so good. It was hit and miss. They expire too quickly and is expensive. Had to throw out half of the soft cheeses we purchased because they went bad before the expiry date. If you have a long drive home, get the freezer bags. read more

Love this spot! If you're a cheese enthusiast and can afford to drop some dough on some real tasty cheese goodness, you don't want to miss this. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and give you a small tasting of several of their cheese to help familiarize you with the options, flavours and differences in types of cheese. They make a lot of their own guernsey and goat cheeses and have a selection of excellent imported varieties. Even if you don't have money to spare, it's worth dropping in for the samples and brief talking points on the cheeses. That said, you'll be sorely tempted to take some cheese home, and they don't come cheap! It's easy to spend $25-30 on one block of cheese if you don't have the will power to stick to a budget! read more

Possibly the best little store in the Niagara Region-- If you're a cheese lover! I usually walk out of here having spent at least $100, but I consider it an investment in my happiness. UCCC makes alot of their own cheeses and sells products from third party cheesmakers as well. Niagara Gold is a favourite of mine as it has a nutty flavour and semi aged texture. I could nibble on this stuff forever and it's always a hit with my family. Good thing this store is on the way to my parent's house in Niagara, otherwise they'd never get any! Recently tried some of their fresh ricotta with basil and olive oil on capellini and it was gorgeous. I'm also a huge fan of the Nosey Goat, which is a surface ripened gooey goat cheese that they recommend you cut the top off and scoop out the middle as the rind had ripened a little with age. They also have loads of great local products from jam makers, bakers, and honeymakers. Imports are abound as well... They carry IMO the best blue cheese I've ever had: Roaring Forties Australian Blue. Every time I go to the Cheese Boutique, they claim to be out of it, but UCCC always has it in stock and it's really amazing with a little truffle honey and a glass of tawny port. The staff are very passionate and knowledgeable about the products they make and carry. They're also happy to let you sample anything they sell. If you're on your way to Niagara for the day, definitely stop off at this place and get yourself some gourmet picnic worthy provisions. Don't expect to get out without paying a pretty penny for your treasures, but what you get for your money is well worth it. read more

Upper Canada Cheese Company is awesome on multiple levels... 1. It is a great stop for breaking up an afternoon of wine tasting. 2. Not only do they make fabulous cheeses on site, they offer a variety of other items such as local pickles, sauces, and a cooler of soft drinks for those who need a wine break. They also have a reasonable selection of cheeses that are made elsewhere. 3. Service here is exceptional. A super nice lady greeted us, told us about the store, then led us back to the tasting area where she prepared and explained 5 different samples for us. 4. This is the only place of its kind in this area. If you are looking for freshly made local cheese as a part of your wine country experience, this is it. 5. The store is sparkling clean. There is plenty of parking and an outdoor area where you can sit and eat your cheese! read more

My husband raves about this place. I found it cute and quaint. The cheese was good. However, the cheese is extremely overpriced and they won't downsize packages for you!what kind of cheese shop precuts packages and won't split them? Shouldn't they have a wheel of cheese where they can cut custom sizes? What if I wanted a little bit of each kind of cheese? Instead I'm forced to buy a big hunk. I felt like the customer service was poor in this regard. I probably won't be back. Dear Vivian: Thank you for your response. I appreciate that you apparently cut different sizes for each person's "budget" however the day I was there the pieces were all very large. As a lover of artisanal cheese, this place was nearly heaven for me. My friend and I made it in just before close and wound up grabbing an amazing loaf of Fred's Bread (actually from Toronto) and about $100 in cheese to accompany all of the wine we grabbed through the day. This is NOT the place to go for people that like cheese - cheddar, Monterrey jack, Swiss, etc. It will be too expensive for you and overall you just won't get it so don't bother wasting your time. BUT... if you actually KNOW and LOVE cheese, this place is a great little find and well worth a visit. In addition to their house made cheese selection they do offer a decent selection of other Canadian artisan cheeses as well as many mustands, sauces, crackers, and the like. read more

Fun side trip on the way to Toronto from NOTL. Little shop with tons of cute serving dishes, jams, fresh bread, in addition to the cheese. The store has about 7 cheeses for tasting. The best is the niagara gold, the rest were good, too, but nothing really blew me away. One was memorable, though, it is a goat cheese in a rind of vegetable ash. You let it sit at room temperature and it almost melts like a fondue. It was good but the ash stuck in my teeth. There were also 2 experimental flavors that are discounted. Good stop if you have time to kill, but I would say it is passable if you're short on time. read more

Yum!! This cute little shop just off the QEW is a must for any cheese lover. It was not busy on the day that I went, and the woman at the counter immediately offered to do a little cheese tasting for me. She let me sample 4 different cheeses on offer. My favourites were the goat cheese "Nosy Goat" (not as soft/crumbly as most goat cheeses, not too salty, really flavourful) and the cheese made for grilling "Guernsey Girl" (she warmed it up on a cast iron pan until it was just a little brown on the outside... absolutely delicious!!). They just started producing their own cheddar as well. In addition to their own cheeses, they also carry some cheese from other sources. Rounding things out, you can find other gourmet or gift-y things here like jams, jellies, mustards, hot sauce, dips, oils etc. I.e. perfect accompaniments for wine tasting in the area. read more

Made a quick stop in here to see what was available. The employees were so kind and offered samples while they explained the cheeses. I know they are trying to sell the cheese but they were not "salesy" or pushy at all. Very friendly and laid back. I loved their cheeses and bought some blocks. Fresh and so flavorful. This place is definately worth a stop. They have both refrigerated and non-refrigerated cheeses as well as relishes, jams, preserves, crackers, pepperoni and other various snack foods. read more

Not sure how I could possibly rate this place less than a 5 star. We were greeted with "Hi! Would you like to sample some cheeses?" The service was great. This place is small and has a nice homey feel to it. They carry lots of great stuff, like jams, olives, spreads, and of course, cheese. I liked all of the samples I tried. Especially one that I actually brought back to the states w/me in ice! I can't remember the name, but it was a special batch that they only made a few of. We bought out the ones in their fridge. Definitely add this to your list when you are heading towards the wineries or Niagara Falls! read more

They have 3 or 4 great cheeses that they make here, they also sell others. I stopped by after having a taste of their cheese at Creekside Winery. UCCC kindly lets you sample the cheeses they make. UCC makes a small selection of 3 to 4 fine cheeses. We especially love their Niagara Gold with it's wonderful texture and flavourful rind. Not inexpensive but on par with other small cheese producers. Well worth the visit when touring around the beautiful Niagara region. read more

Amazing shop! We got sample some rare cheeses as well as their traditional lineup. They also helped us plan a cute dinner of baguette, cheeses, and tapenade with the wine we got at local winery. They even cut the cheese and bread for us because we were staying in a hotel. Delicious cheese! read more

I tried their Niagara Gold at a cheese shop in Toronto about a year ago, so I decided to stop by their homebase on trip through the area last month. They had about 4-5 cheeses to choose from (that are their own brand), they were all great however the Niagara Gold is still my favorite. They also had a (seasonal?) grilling cheese that we purchased that was crispygooeydeliciousness. As the other reviewers have mentioned, this place is not cheap, but if you are a cheese aficionado you are probably used to paying a bit for a hunk of cheese. I looked on their website and see that their cheese is sold in a lot of locations in the Ontario area, so I don't know if I would say you NEED to stop here at their storefront. To me, the store front was not that special (hence the rating), but if you are passing by why not? The product they make is a definite 5-star though. read more
