So why am I only leaving a two-star review? Because the shop is a one-person operation, and when the owner is away there is no backup. I've come to the store several times to find a note on the door saying that they are closed for the day. In 2023, it's not too much to ask for a business to have a website - or even a Twitter feed - that notifies people if they are closed. But even in the absence of an online presence, the store could at least have a recorded message that people can hear when they call in. Guess what? The owner hasn't even bothered to set up his voicemail. Not all of us have the free time to drive halfway across town multiple times just to find the shop closed. Not all of us have the luxury of waiting extra days past the promised delivery date to pick up our shoes. This is the kind of business that I want to support, and it gives me no pleasure to give a low review to a guy who does great work. But when the shop can't deliver a basic service reliably, that's what we're left with.

So I took it to the UPS Store to get them to package it, thinking I would get it boxed there and then drive back to FedEx to drop it off. The team there offered to build me a custom box, though they wouldn't be able to do it until Monday (this was on a Saturday). I was leaving town Sunday, but when I told them that they said it was no problem; they offered to wrap the box and take it to the nearby FedEx shipping center in the shopping center on Monday, when I was out of town. They did so, and called me to confirm it Monday, and the package arrived with no trouble. Really appreciated them going the extra mile on what had been a very frustrating day up to that point.

My husband and I went in last night to inquire about getting his belt sewed, a watch battery replaced, and have some links taken out of his watch strap. The man who works here is clearly a hands-on person, very focused on his job and not really looking to have a conversation. I'm a chatty person, I tried a few times but he wasn't very responsive. Is that a bad thing? No. I cannot expect everyone I meet to be talkative like I am. The prices he quoted were exceptionally reasonable for what we wanted done (in total we paid $40 for everything. The last place my husband took his watch to have his battery replaced charged $30 to replace a battery (we'd have done it ourselves but the watch isn't the easiest to get to the back of) and they made us wait a few days until it was ready to be picked up. Minute Keys did all 3 things in HALF AN HOUR!!! He was also kind enough to say that if my husband wasn't happy with the watch band and wanted a few more links taken out to come back and he would do it free of charge. Simple and to the point, no bells and whistles. Stop expecting so much from a store. This man does his job and does it well, and I have no qualms about the man behind the counter being quiet. Remember folks, everyone has their own story and their own personality. If a job is done right, the rest shouldn't matter.

The owner, Jonathan Archer is a enormous disappointment to all. He is rude and based on other reviews, there is a pattern of poor behavior. Jonathan sounds normal on the phone but in person, he makes you feel like you are a bother to him. He is not willing to help or to make a customer feel comfortable about visiting his location. I strongly do not recommend this location. UPS head office should be made aware of the poor representation Jonathan Archer is exhibiting. As a retired employee of UPS, I can state 100%, this Store is not aligned with UPS Standards of providing quality customer service. Go to the Sherway location as they are far more professional and friendly.
