I had 2 packages that I was returning to Amazon via UPS so I came here on a Friday afternoon. There was plenty of parking for customers and the facility itself looked like a huge warehouse. Even the customer area looked "warehouse-y" but I don't care about that. When I went, there was one lady in there doing something that didn't require assistance from the staff so I was helped right away at the cashier. The cashier was very nice and helpful. I asked him about the sign on the door that said they don't accept barcodes which meant that if you had a package that required the cashier to scan the barcode off your phone or something to print out the label FOR YOU at the facility, this facility cannot do that and you would have to go to an actual UPS store. I had a overnight air package being delivered to my home address. It was shipped on a Tuesday and was supposed to arrive the following morning. For the next 2 days the tracking showed it out for delivery, but it was never delivered. After calling the 800 number for help, they just kept transferring me around to 3 different call takers and told me they couldn't find the package I went to the UPS Customer Center on Smith St. in Farmingdale and the counter guys could not have been more helpful. They do note read address notes. My packages are always left were ever the delivery person feels he/she wants, in spite of specific location at address to ensure safe delivery!!! It doesn't matter how much damaged the package is the item is still left where ever the delivery person chooses. When I called customer service to complain about the quality of delivery the supervisor ensured it to be difficult to return item, that's a lot of help why they bother calling a department customer service is beyond my comprehension. I am stuck with this horrible delivery service because this is the only carrier used by the company I by from. Today I am waiting for my LAST UPS PPACKAGE. I get about 4-5 deliveries a week (pandemic ordering) and today a young man in a private car wearing a UPS vest came and placed my package on the edge of the porch as not too obstruct the operation of the door . As he turned to go back to his car I opened the door ,he came back to move the package closer while maintaining distance and wearing a mask. He was polite, well spoken,and appeared to have common sense as I get some deliveries with the package against the door (not raining) and have to go around. Let's face it, the reason we all use shipping companies, in part, comes from the idea that we don't want to go to the store to wait in line. Miss your package delivery three times, and you'll find yourself waiting on line here. Over the years, I've become quite the expert of having nearly everything show up on my front door step without having to go shopping. But the mad Russian ordered a new iphone and it needed to be signed for. Both of us were swamped at work and we couldn't work out getting the package at home, so I made the trip one morning to go pick it up. Maybe it's just an affirmation as to why I don't like shopping, but walking in the UPS Customer Center store firmly reaffirmed my feeling. There were three people in line ahead of me- I'm thinking "good" - I'll be out in a jiffy. Nah..... They, of course were short-staffed, and while I watched at least thirteen customers come and go to either drop off or package their goods, I moved up one place in line. The one person who was serving the "pickup" line would come out and ask a few questions and then disappear for another ten minutes. Don't get me wrong, the help here was very nice when you actually got to your turn. It was explained that they were a few people short and that was what was causing the delay. Only after serving all of the other customers in his line, did a nice gentleman come for me to help me retrieve a package. I have so little time off, it is really frustrating to have to spend it waiting in line. Two employees to serve the 15 or so customers that came while I watched them come in, do their business and leave. Thankfully, they were very nice and apologized for the delays. But, my friends, I'll try to keep from coming here again as a priority in my life. Simply no time to wait in line for something that can and should be shipped to your front door. read more

I can't get a single person on the phone, and I am about to lose my mind over the lack of service that I have gotten from this place. My package was shown as out for delivery this morning. Later in the day I was notified that delivery could not be completed because my "business" was closed at the time of attempted delivery... this was being delivered to my home address... where I was in the house at the time with my entire family! No attempt was made, and I do not know where my package is now. I walked in and had absolutely no idea what to do. There were computers to the left - clerks and shipping stations to the right. The gentleman I encountered was most excellent in assisting me with their computer and their process. Step 1: Go to the PC to the left - CAPS LOCK remains on. Enter shipping info for recipient and sender. If you want to add additional insurance, what's in the box, and then prints a lil tracking tag for your box when you're done inputting info. Step 2: Slap the tracking tag to your box and bring it to the clerks behind you. Step 3: Clerks pull up your information, weighs & measures (actually she knew the exact size without pulling out a ruler), collects payment, slaps the shipping label on the box. Step 4: Box goes down a ramp to be placed on a truck. I leave with no problems, no issues. And have my tracking information and receipt in hand with all the correct information. Roni's happy! BTW, this is not a UPS store. This is a Customer Center, which is a full-service center on-site of an actual UPS facility where shipments goes in and out through them. After speaking with the staff I also found out that you can call the number on the back of your missed delivery slip to arrange a pick up after the facility has already closed. But this needs to be called ahead so they'll have your package ready for you when you arrive to pick-up. This is a convenience to those who have a MUST SIGN delivery but can't be home to do so, so they can come after work to pick up their package. read more

I hope you don't end up needing real service from this location. UPS provides 800 phone number (dis)service, with lots of "I'm sorries" and "I wish I could help you's" but no answers. Our credit card was stolen over the weekend, new ones are being rush shipped and require a signature. In today's day and age is it reasonable to give a delivery window of 9am to 7pm and expect someone to sit around and wait? Would it not be possible for someone from Farmingdale to first of all be reachable by phone (631 number) and give a 2-3 hour window, or Couldn't the website say something more informative than "out for delivery". Horrific Experience, I paid extra money lots of it for 5 boxes to be sent to me by 2nd day air. only 2 of the 5 showed up. I have a presentation today that I paid over $4,000.00 and without those specific 3 boxes missing I can't do it. I was told by there overseas office (Philippines I think) that nothing can be done finally after a lot of yelling and explaining I had the manager call the Farmingdale, NY office and was told that she spoke with an Irene who told her its a new driver and that the driver will get to my place between 4 and 5 pm today and can't tell the driver because he's new WTF!!! I needed it by 1:00 pm in order to make it to the presentation. I am dead in the water without them. First its their fault for not delivering on time and now its there fault again because of a new driver that they refuse to have him alter his route!!!! Wish I could give 0 stars. UPS is horrible. I was supposed to receive a package that I paid RUSH shipping for because I needed the items for a trip on Sunday. Snow storm Thursday when it was originally supposed to arrive, I understand a delay. But Friday tracking info said my package was on the truck at 9am for delivery on Friday by 8pm. No package came. Saturday same exact thing. I called customer service at 5pm to see if I could pick it up at the facility, they told me sorry its on a truck, it will be delivered by end of day. Guess what? NEVER GOT THE PACKAGE and now they are closed until Monday. I will be using FEDex from now on. I noticed their trucks had no problem making deliveries on my block the last two days. read more

I have a UPS business account. I had a package arriving two days ago, the driver that never showed up. My regular driver was off that day and his substitute never even attempted delivery, just assumed nobody would be here to receive the package! Yesterday, it showed out for delivery and it was my regular driver. He arrived, had different packages I was expecting... but not this one! It was NOT on the truck!! Today, it does not show yesterday's 'Out for delivery' status, and just shows 'Destination scan' for the status today. There is no delivery estimate. This delivery is now very late, and I desperately need it!! I tried calling UPS and you get a recording saying that nobody is available to take the call due to COVID-19. What kind of BS is that?! Best UPS I have been to. The men that work at this location are friendly and always fast to help. Not all UPS locations are the same, I have experienced poor service and lazy/mean attitudes from attendants at other locations, mostly Lindenhurst location, but here everyone is professional and smart. A gentleman here even lifted a heavy box out of my trunk for me because I had a shoulder injury. Very nice thing to do and it is always in and out at this location, I do not have to wait on line, and they provide trolleys so I can wheel my packages into the building with minimal effort. When my shipments get really big I will probably schedule a pickup at my office or house. I drive over from Lindenhurst to use this hub because they are so efficient. Edit: I had to take off a star because of the hours of operation. They seem to open and close at will. Unless someone is fiddling with the google account, they are closed all weekend, but open 24 hours on Wednesday. I have shipments that have to go out in a timely manner and I can't count on this location being open because of the inconsistent hours. It is not a holiday weekend or week right now and last week they were open til 2pm on Saturday. I woke up today to see they were closed. I had to go to the Massapequa location, where not a single person in the store or on the street lifted a finger to help me with my packages or even open the door for me. The kickstand on the door was broken so I had to lift 14, 30-pound boxes into the store by myself and balance the box on my knee so I could open the door. Actually really hurt when the door slammed on my body against the box. I think a good experience with UPS may not be possible. It's just a mediocre company. the ups in farmingdale has no regard for customers. we were supposed to get a delivery for an oxygen system, a medical priority, at 10:30 am today. it is now 4:27pm and they cannot tell me where the package is. while it states it's on the truck, i found the driver and he couldn't find it on his truck. sherri at the warehouse had little regard for the sense of urgency. despite my asking for a manager, kevin (no last name given) couldn't even take the time to speak with me on the phone. this is a blatant disregard for customers. i will never use this service again. the lack of empathy for the customer and disregard for the need for this item is appalling to say the least. farmingdale ups employees leave a lot to be desired. i will be writing their corporate headquarters. read more

My package was supposed to be have been delivered on the same day as another package from usps. Unfortunately, the promised delivery date was during a snow storm so I can understand both packages delivery window being pushed to the next day. The next day comes around and my package from usps comes through, but the one I expected from ups was pushed to the coming Monday.... first of all, how is it that usps can pull through but ups can't? What's the point of paying extra? The roads were definitely clear enough that second day so this additional delay is absolutely inexcusable to me. This isn't the first time either. Our driveway is rather long so in multiple instances our package goes through several "delivery attempts." Aka, the ups driver is too lazy to trek up the driveway and we ultimately need to pick up the package at the center. We don't have this issue with any other carrier. UPS... get it together read more

Or your not to keen on having a package just it out on your stoop until you come home. Then become a My Choice Member. In doing do you can have your packages held at will call and pick them up when it is convenient for you. In doing so you get to interact with the fine people who will be helping you at the UPS in Farmingdale. It only makes sense to pick up your package if you live close to this location.
