Fedex is negligent in its failure to secure its dropboxes. On Jan 8 24 I placed a shipment in one of its dropboxes; Woodbury, Froehlich Farm Rd. The shipment never reached its destination. In fact it was not even scanned. WHY? Because it was likely stolen right out of the dropbox which FEDEX failed to insure was securely locked. Without a scan of tracking # fedex won't connect me to a representative to speak with. Melville office manager never called me back despite twice going there to discuss this matter. Fedex simply denied my claim stating no proof. I have receipt of tracking number (again,never scanned because shipment was likely stolen from OPEN and UNSECURED drop box. Photos as evidence of box whose door flew open in wind. It would not lock when I pushed it closed. read more

This location is very convenient since it is off the Long Island Expressway and close by to the professional office buildings on 110. However, I find it very slow since it seems whenever I am there their seems to be only one person at the counter. The Fed ex employee's are very pleasant, but the process seems to be slow. read more

I have a 2 day priortiy coming to NY from IL and it ends in sitting in Customs in Ankrage, AK? why does it need to clear customs? the rep has no clue and just speak in circles. they must be super dirt cheap becuase alot of companies use them. Had to pick up a package that was delivery attempted, But no one was home. I had to drive all the way to Melville, Which was a real nuisance. I got there and there were 6 people on line before me. There was one woman behind the counter and that is it. I waited aprox 15-20 minutes and no other person came out to help. Finally got to my turn and woman was pleasant and helpful. Seemed to have a little attitude though. When I was leaving there was a line out the door and still no other help. I have been to other Fedex locations and this is the worst. I have never been to any that there was only one worker, Unless there was no other customers. Very very poor overall service for this location. You should be able to go in and out quickly. The most disgusting customer service ever. I ordered a package from Amazon and had no idea that it requested a signature from the shipper. The person who I was getting this gift for was not home. They attempted to deliver it 3 times. I called and asked what else can be done. They said to ask my friend to stay home to receive rbis package. My friend took a whole day off from work and they never came after I specifically called and told them she will be home that day. They are the absolute worst. read more

HORRIBLE!! How do I give 0 stars? I have a FedEx account and have clear delivery instructions of where to leave a package since my complex is locked. But you mark missed delivery rather than follow simple instructions! Not to add that you cannot get through to a real person when calling the customer service. If you have a choice, choose UPS. I sent a fragile package and insured it for $200. The box arrived crushed, punctured, and obviously damaged. Sent 7 pictures of the box and before/after pictures of the item to fulfill the claim. FedEx denied the claim. Said we didn't pack it properly. We didn't seal it until we were in the building and sought the advice of the clerk, who said "It's fine!" I won't use FedEx whenever I have a choice. They don't care. read more

Not fun when early this AM only one person in front of me. He took up 20 minutes for his one package. I asked the counter to get another clerk to help "I'm the only one here" bad planning for the central FedEx hub. I end med leaving without my package or I would have been late to work. read more

I don't think it's possible for people to work this slowly... this is the location my packages are always brought back to unfortunately, often even when packages are sent WITHOUT signature required, they still leave me one of these damn door tags and I gotta run up here and wait FOREVER!! This complaint is not specifically targeted at this Fedex location; it affects others as well. I even complained to some "corporate" type who merely looked up the bad info on the website: Fedex offers FOR FREE a shipping box known as the "25 Kg Box" which is essentially a pretty good grade of corrugated cardboard, and more importantly to me is the perfect size for my fairly heavy box I had to ship just far enough away from here that I didn't want to drive it there myself. [After all, isn't Fedex in the SHIPPING business!] I ordered five of them from Fedex, free [you have to have an account number, anyone with a credit card can get one]. I intend to send similar-sized packages every few months, etc. Trying to expedite things, and as they say, no good deed goes unpunished, i sent my friend to the location mentioned and he honestly told him what we wanted the box for. They refused to give it to him! Instead, they made us purchase an inferior box for about $7 and we will have to cut it down to size because as with all Fedex shipping, it's not just the weight but the sq ft as well. [Which will also weaken the box, and it isn't as good cardboard as the one I want.] Or I can wait until the package of 5 comes, and use one of the perfect boxes. But I also have a time limit to not inconvenience the people at the other end! If you talk to any of the people there [or on 1-888-GO-FEDEX] you get inconsistent answers. Apparently, no one in this company wants to take responsibility. It is true that this box is RATED for "International shipping" and I agree, if I was sending by stuff to Europe, I would want nothing less, but my package isn't going more than about 800 miles, but is heavy, but a bit fragile, so it is still the right box for the job. The problem is that some see that it CAN be used for international shipping and interpret that to mean it MUST be used for international shipping. [Hey, I can tape a piece of a paper-bag over the word "international" with brown tape!] The woman in the "corporate" gripe department didn't check it out, and merely looked it up on the website that it is part of a package for an international RATE [recommended the box for that purpose] and concludes that that means international ONLY, refused to research it further, and basically dismissed me as if a child. [If all companies went by what is on their websites, the world would be even crazier than it is now.] I told her flat out, falling to even let me talk to someone who KNOWS the actual policy, and merely defending the station operators "for doing the correct thing" would lead me here to Yelp, and that either I will cut down that box and eat the $7, or wait it out, get the free packages, completely obliterate the word FEDEX and whatever other marking there is, and take the package to UPS ground. She really didn't care. UPS is a short drive and actually a few minutes closer to us. [But I will go all the way to FEDEX as my last business with them - to get a refund on the $7 box.] We've already wasted more in gas than the difference between the two companies in terms of economical shipping. Good companies can be ruined by bad employees; I hope this is not a harbinger for their future, but if no one spreads the word, things will get worse before they get better. An update. I NEVER got the boxes. It's a waste of time to even attempt to take them to task on it. My advice is to make sure you have a source of what you need, but don't go to FEDEX. Their employees are effectively abusing their authority and then that becomes "company policy". Next time I'll just buy the right box to avoid problems on the real issue: damage in shipment. The money isn't the point, they wasted my time when it was critical and i am understandably very disappointed. Apparently they don't care about Yelp reviews either. This facility has delivered my correctly addressed packages to the wrong address SIX TIMES IN A ROW. I have filed four complaints with corporate and the manager, a very unpleasant woman, hung up on me when I asked for an explanation. had a priority 10am delivery time. when i went to track package at 10:30 i was told it had not arrived in the melville l.i. center. approx 20 minutes later i was told it was put on a truck for delivery. i have made 6 phone calls to try and find out where this 10:30 am package is. each time i am told nothing but it is on the truck. it is now 2:06pm and still no package. there is not one competent person in customer service. no one was helpful. all gave the same answer----it is on the truck. i had asked a number of the people to contact the drive. never heard from the driver. as the owner of a company, i will now stop using fed-ed. there are still other choices. this problem is now costing me time and money. a company as large as fed-ex should have the ability to deal with customer problems. this packsage was sent priority because it was priority. read more
