My son injured his hand during a karate exhibition, and we scheduled an appointment with Kaiser…read moreapproximately 72 hours later. After X-rays were taken, the doctor reviewed them and stated it appeared to be a sprain. He recommended over-the-counter options like ibuprofen, Tylenol, or topical ointments and asked if we had any questions. I asked a simple and reasonable question: *"What is your recommended course of action?"* The response was that it was "all in the instructions," which amounted to a general list of medications--no clear guidance, no treatment plan, and no specificity around care. I then asked if a brace would be appropriate. The doctor replied, "yes, just go next door." Had I not asked, we would have left with nothing but vague instructions. From there, the experience deteriorated quickly. After receiving a brace from orthopedics, we left--only to be called back shortly after and told it was actually a break requiring a cast. Once back in the clinic, we were then told mid-process that it was a fracture and that a splint--not a cast--was needed. Within roughly 30 minutes, we were given four different outcomes: * Sprain * Brace * Break requiring a cast * Fracture requiring a splint This level of inconsistency is unacceptable and reflects a serious breakdown in internal communication and clinical clarity. To make matters worse, a few hours later I received a call from Kaiser Orthopedics asking to schedule a follow-up appointment **the next day**, despite being told in person that we should return in one week. When I tried to clarify the appropriate timeline--not just accept the earliest appointment--the representative became frustrated, spoke over me, and ultimately hung up the phone. At that point, I contacted Kaiser to file a formal complaint and am currently awaiting follow-up. I have heard criticisms of Kaiser's customer service in the past but had never experienced them firsthand--until now. This was one of the most disjointed, poorly communicated healthcare experiences I have encountered across any industry. As someone who leads operations across Northern California and Washington, I understand how critical communication, alignment, and accountability are. While my individual experience may seem small, it will absolutely serve as a real-world example in my organization of how failures in communication can cascade into confusion, frustration, and loss of trust. 4/22: follow up. Received another call from Kaiser asking when I wanted to be seen. Again, I asked when I should be seen? It's not about timely convenience. It's about proper procedure. I asked that they tell me when I should be seen. He said sir i dont know i was just communicated to set up an appointment. Then he offered me numbers to his supervisors so that I can call around and seek answers. Amazing. My expectations for customer service are not that high. I would never had made it to department supervisor at home depot 25 years ago if i had the same work ethic they allow at Kaiser customer support today.

I am surprised to see so many negative reviews here…read more Well, I finally decided to give this place a try. Due to the reviews, I didn't expect much... but every time, I was very happy with the service here. I've been here for my baby's general appointments with his pediatrician, for his physical therapy, and also for my broken foot and emergency care, and every time, I am quite impressed with the overall service. The staff has been nothing short of excellent, from the front desk to the nurses. Everyone is welcoming, super friendly, and they truly seem to care about making your experience as smooth as possible. Same with the doctors! So far, every doctor I've seen have been professional, knowledgeable, and thorough in answering my questions, which made me feel more at ease every time I came in. Additionally, I was actually really impressed at how quickly they answered my emails compared to other Kaisers that I have been to. I would send an email today and would most likely get a reply the following day. Usually, I am used to getting a reply after 2-3 business days. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hospital. Obviously, I can't speak for everyone else since we all have had different procedures done or seen by a different doctor, but I am just saying that I have always had a great experience here, and I hope you would too.

They said they didn't know what caused it, but that it definitely was not caused by the treatment they had given me. Both Dr. Pillai and Dr. Tong remained hostile toward me because I doubted their professional opinion. I have a new oncologist now. All of my doctors now attribute my new diabetes as a side effect from cancer treatment. I was right. It was obvious. These two doctors are some very disturbed men who become aggressive and adversarial if their poor skills are questioned and the poor skills do abound. I am convinced I would be dead if I had continued to be treated by Epic Care in Antioch. I swear that I am speaking the truth. If you value your life then you need to stay away from these strange men.

Dr. Pillai is an uncaring, rude, bigot. My dad has lung cancer and was just treated for a PET scan,…read morewhen he saw Dr Pillai. My dad was fatigued at the appointment and confused due to some medicine. My mom accompanied him to assist him and Dr Pillai ignored her, belittled her, and yelled at her multiple times. He only wanted to talk to my dad and yet interrupted him when he spoke slowly. When my mom told Dr Pillai to not interrupt my dad he became irritable. He rudely shushed my mom various times when she was asking reasonable questions about possible treatment and timelines. I was on the phone on the other line listening to everything. English is not my mom's first language and she was trying her utmost best to understand him but he was completely unpleasant and exclaimed that he won't change his personality to accommodate patients. He yelled "We're done here!" at both my parents. Either Dr Pillai is misogynist, xenophobic, or just hates his patients. If you're thinking of going to Epic Care please look for other options or at least try to be assigned to a different doctor. Cancer is hard and heartbreaking, there's absolutely no need at all for your oncologist, of all people, to make things worse.
