Visited this provider one time to establish care after moving to CA. Out the gate, she messed up my…read moremedications to the point of having to stop two of my medications without warning. I also have to pay an unexpected lab bill. During my spouse's appointment (a few days after my new patient appointment), I addressed the medication concern and the urgency of getting them filled. To my surprise, Dr. Syed stated, "Just because you bring a medication to me, doesn't mean I will prescribe it." I can understand this statement if she would have addressed her concerns when I was in front of her during my visit, but she did not! Additionally, she coded routine thyroid bloodwork as diagnostic and refused to re-code it. Thus, I am now having to pay an unexpected lab bill. I addressed my concerns with the provider. In the end, she prescribed the medications I needed but then took her time in providing the insurance company with the prior authorizations they required. This resulted in delaying the scripts from being filled as mentioned above. The entire encounter has caused me undue stress, and countless hours on the phone to sort out, not to mention the fallout from being taken off two of my medications so drastically. Do not recommend.

During the appointment, the doctor sits across the room and most of the 15 minutes is spent with the doctor fooling around with the computer app and was more concerned with getting a POLST form filled out. She ordered lab work based on my meds. I asked for a urine test--she said they are no longer automatically part of the Wellness exam--I requested the test. My lab results had some issues and they were not properly addressed by the doctor. I called the office, wanting to talk to the doctor, but she does not take phone calls so the front desk gave me a phone appointment with the PA. The PA said I must talk to the Dr. who ordered the lab work. So, now, I have to wait another month to talk with the Dr. At least the PA did order the additional lab work. Prior to this experience, there have been issues with meds and referrals. I guess if you have no health issues, this type of care would work for you.

She said that I needed to call and do that first before she could schedule me (why she scheduled me already before verifying is beyond me) she then said that the insurance needed to send them a letter with the reference number. I asked to speak with the office manager at that point and she said she would have her call me back. I then received a call from Amanda who was so rude. She said that it's her office policy that they cannot schedule until the PCP is changed on the card, even though Sela said that the insurance can post date it. She said that it's in the best info the office to do it that way. What about what's in the best interest of the patient?!! What horrible patient care. So a patient can't have a PCP while they wait a month if they have HMO insurance if you want to schedule with them. How does that even make sense. And like I said, I'm currently under the care of a physician for a medical condition and cannot be without a PCP for a month. She then said that her doctor would not treat my medical condition and that their office doesn't agree with disability. She says her doctors will only sign for disability for 2 weeks and that's it. Hmm for someone who is not a physician she was quick to diagnose and tell me what treatment I needed. I cannot believe that the doctor would refuse a medical necessity and I cannot believe that they have such a rude office manager. She also says that she's the manager so she makes the office rules and she made that policy. I asked to speak with the doctor and she said that she wouldn't take my call and that I could email. She then said "I actually don't think I even want to give you her email." So unprofessional. She then said "I'm going to hang up now because we won't be able to have you as a patient." Wow, just wow! I dodged a bullet for sure. If an office manager can be this unprofessional and the doctor allows it, that speaks volumes!!!

After years of terrible experiences, I was at the point where I had been procrastinating and fearful of trying to find another doctor. I had been having a variety of health issues, both gynecological and with my kidneys, and I had learned to live with the pain. Dr. Yee showed empathy and concern and provided thorough and thoughtful care -not by just doing the physical examinations and tests, but by taking the time to really talk to me about my health history and what I had been experiencing. She provided a plan and followed up consistently. She referred me when I needed surgery, and helped me when no one, not even a specialist could complete a biopsy. And she listened when I said that I experienced pain the last time and the other doctor dismissed me and said I didn't need pain relief for a procedure because it would be painless, quick and easy. Dr. Yee assured me she could provide some additional measures to numb me and make me as comfortable as possible. I could have cried - to have a doctor who listens and cares this much about their patients is a rare find. Dr. Yee's care resulted in my eventual diagnosis of several issues I was unaware of and needed surgery for. I am now 4 months post op and I just know when I return to Dr. Yee for my future care she will be just as attentive and focused on my experience as she was the last time. No one deserves to be put through weeks of drama in their attempt to prove themselves right. Only my multiple phone calls to surgery Center, surgeon and specialist finally resolved the Yee team road block.... Everything they had insisted I needed to achieve had been previously done within the current parameters.
