After being a faithful patient for 9 years, my extremely medically complicated child was denied service b/c we missed an appt.. So, they dropped us. My child was recovering from surgery and got the flu, and I forgot to call to reschedule. We have SO much work we need to get done in her mouth and sorry, you can't come here anymore they say. Are you kidding!!!! Do these guys even have a heart! My daughter has been through hell (Diabetic, kidney disease survivor and a cancer survivor) and we were told sorry, hit the door. After going there once again for 9 years!! Who does that? Now I am struggling to find another dentist locally that takes medicaid. After explaining this over and over, they couldn't have cared less. I realized then we deserve sooooooooooo much better than this, and so do you! Do you not go here!! They don't care about your situation no matter what it is. read more

Poor Attitude Bad Work July 2019 I arrived for my daughter's appointment. They did not have her appointment on the schedule. They worked her in. July 2019 my daughter was x-rayed. The hygienist said the x-ray looked great, no cavities. The dentist came to examine and said my daughter had 3 cavities that needed fillings but, they would wait and x-ray in another 6 months. January 2020, my daughter again had x-rays. I was again told she had 3 cavities. She was scheduled to have the 1 on the one side fixed separate from the other side. The soonest appointment they could get her in was April 2020. April 2020 COVID - appointment cancelled. End of May 2020 my daughter got in to have her filling done. Upstate said she had 1 cavity on the one side and two on the other, between her molars. The office said they had a COVID policy that all staff & parents would wear masks. The assistant entering & handing things across my daughter to the assistant was not wearing a mask, the receptionist was not wearing a mask, several adults accompanying patients were not wearing masks. The staff members not wearing masks had the masks on their chins. I reached out to the office in writing regarding their staff not following their own COVID-19 policy. I received a nasty response telling me to find another dentist. End of June 2020, I had my daughter's records transferred to another dentist. The new dentist looking at Upstate's January 2020 x-ray spotted an additional cavity that Upstate did not see. She had 2 cavities on each side between her molars, not 1 on the one side and 2 on the other. Upstate had missed a cavity. The new dentist also did a new X-ray finding that Upstate did not remove all of her cavity when doing the filling that they did last month. Part of the cavity is still visible on the x-ray at the filling. The unpleasant response I received telling me to find another pediatric dental office was a blessing in disguise. read more

I recently brought my daughter in for a her 6 month cleaning. The hygienist called us into the room but did not introduce herself by name. She spent between 10-12 minutes on the entire process; this is not an exaggeration. My daughter stated the hygienist's actions were quick and rough. She also didn't attempt to make any small talk with my daughter; which most medical professionals do to help relax their patients. Although we like the doctors and other staff members at Upstate Pediatric Dental, we will definitely not be scheduling future cleanings with that particular hygienist. read more

Dr. Brian and his staff are the best! They are attentive, and amazing with children of all ages! I have 5 children, and we are able to be seen all in the same day, so I'm not making multiple trips to the dentist. read more

Dr. Brian is the absolute best! My daughter is terrified of shots and she, unfortunately, needed some dental work done. She never even knew she had a shot!! He is very efficient and calming. Makes for a great dental experience for kids and* parents! Highly recommend!! read more

LOVE! This dentist was recommend to me by my friend so when my daughters filling fell out I decided to take her here. I can not remember the nurses name but my daughter is very shy but does very well at the dentist and the nurse immediately made Ava feel welcomed and it made her interact with the nurse because she was so kind and sweet to my little one! The Dr. did so as well! They gave me the option of opting out of fluoride and gave me no trouble about it. They also gave me the time of day and listened to all of my concerns and what I expected from this visit and reassured me that other than her cavity needing to be refilled, her teeth are being very well taken care. I am so impressed! I will be bringing all my kids back and will recommend this place to all my mommy friends. Thank you for being so kind to my sweet girl and so helpful. read more

As a mother of two young children, I switched them from another local pediatric dentist to Upstate Pediatric Dentist. The back story of why we switched is, it had gotten to the point where they were so traumatized I knew we could not return. Their previous dentist would have me lay on top of my son to treat him, and she would have him in a head lock while she filled his teeth (which each of them fell out and had to be redone) Bad, Bad bad situation. We then found Upstate Pediatric Dentistry. I let them know before our first appointments that my children were coming from a horrible experience and we were very nervous. They fully understood. Each appointment my kids have the same hygenist. They keep the atmosphere very calm and talk the kids through the entire procedure. After the last appointment where my 3 year old had two fillings done without a whimper I felt like jumping up and down. I told Dr. Brian each time I leave I feel like skipping out the door. They are incredible. If your child has anxiety about dentists, give these guys a try. A few days ago one of my kids asked if they could go to the dentist. Keep it up Upstate Pediatric. This Mama loves you! Side NOTE: I cut out the apple juice from my kids diet, and I swear to you....thats what was giving them cavities! read more

When Dr. Caroline worked there, I would always recommend this place to anybody. I have been a very good on time mother for my daughter for 2 years now. But there was a misunderstanding and a mistake on their end when they transferred my daughter to see another doctor until the position got filled after Doctor Caroline left. They were telling everybody that they were referring most of their patients to Dr. Arullah. So then all the sudden I get a phone call from them today saying that I had missed her appointment so ...to make a very very long story short. So I had it rescheduled. Still during this entire time I'm thinking it's the new clinic that I started going to a few months ago. So I went to the wrong clinic of course. So this pediatric dentist called and said if you come in right now we can get you worked in but if you don't come in for today we will never let you in again. Because you basically just missed two appointments. And two appointments you're out. I tried to explain everything to these two office assistance that there was a misunderstanding, I was under the impression that when I was transferred This doctor took over everything with her files, cleanings and everything. So I did touch base with that doctors office and I told him that I could not wait because we had to get to work. So they said OK you will never be allowed to come back in this place again. If you would say, and it worked in with your daughter, you would be allowed to come back with your next up two appointments We're going to be penalized to make a very long story short. I have never seen a doctors office so merciless. I feel like it was very wrong with they did. They should've understood that I was a transferred patient and that there was a mistake on their end, but they were not fuss up to it and we were going to be penalized to make a very long story short.
