They made a BIG mistake! HUGE! I will never do business with them. My daughter made an appointment to try on wedding dresses. She asked if she could bring her daughter and was told yes. When she arrived she was not even let into the store. They did nothing to try to problem solve. My husband is a veteran. He is quite ill. He was so excited to see her try on dresses, even if it was on the phone because he is in the hospital. The way my daughter was treated at Uptown Bridal was insensitive and they exhibited horrible customer service skills. It is their policy not to allow children under 12 into their store. It was not communicated that this is their policy when my daughter asked if she could bring her daughter. This is an exciting time for my three year old granddaughter as well as my daughter. I was on my way and could have stayed with my granddaughter since this was their policy but they didn't give my daughter a chance to come up with a solution. My granddaughter was looking forward to seeing her mommy look like a princess and my daughter was humiliated. We had an appointment for my sister to find her wedding dress. One of our other sisters had her new born baby with her. She's is a single mom, and all her support that was able to baby sit the baby was at the appointment, we asked for an accommodation for our new born baby and that was denied and was handled with so much negativity and prissiness. Yes the owner says no one under 12 is allowed in confirmation emails , texts, what ever else they sent. HOWEVER in situations like ours, when there is absolutely no one else available to watch the baby, that is something that should be accommodated. Owner mentions in the response to the other review that "other women would be upset with a baby there" however, as a women and i'm sure if you asked ANY mother, they would completely understand that accommodation. Clearly if the baby was crying, he would be taken out of the building. Amber seemed HAPPY to be loosing the owner business with her shit attitude. Remember Uptown Bridal, you are in Albuquerque, New Mexico and are not making gowns for the royal family. Please get off your high horse and be willing to be more sensitive towards struggling mothers. After being rescheduled due to a double booking which wasn't a big deal, I was called a second time to see if I could move the appointment earlier in the day. I wasn't able to due to work. When we arrived we were the only party there and the entire facility reeked of weed! I told the woman helping me that I wanted to try on a variety of styles but she pulled 4 dresses that were all very similar. She told me that I'd have to make another appointment if I wanted to see more. They also don't allow photos to be taken, but they will take photos for you and send them to you. I have been waiting for the pictures that were taken and haven't received them. I have even called and emailed requesting them with no response. I would definitely not recommend going here for a dress or trusting this establishment. read more

I cannot say enough great things about my experience at Uptown Bride! As soon as we walked through the door, we felt so welcomed. I absolutely LOVED my bridal consultant Andrea! She did a fantastic job of personalizing my experience and took the time to listen to what I wanted in my dress. She pulled 8 dresses that fit exactly what I was wanting. After trying them all on I was able to narrow it down to my top 2 and say yes to my dress! Andrea was helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and so much fun! I had recently selected several dresses from their online selection and scheduled an appointment for the fitting several days later. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told they didn't get my dresses out of their warehouse. They selected 3 other dresses for me to try on. Only one dress was similar to what I had sent. They didn't have any other dresses in the store that matched my taste. The owner said she could try to get the dresses the next day. I was upset that they didn't have them already on my appointment day. To top it all off.... I had to pay $50 for a fitting fee for dresses I didn't select. You cannot just walk in and try on dresses anymore, it by appointment only. I was limited on time and they promised to find me the dresses I would like and get it altered in time. I would like to start with some positives. Every woman I met working at the shop was extremely nice and friendly, I will not deny that. The shop is very aesthetically pleasing. They have private little niches with the alter for bride to stand upon and beautifully decorated corners that have a wonderfully nostalgic feel. There was even a pretty little desk that reminded me of my grandmother's vanity when I was young. Unfortunately this was not enough to make a shopping experience worth while. I made my appointment to try dresses on yesterday at 4pm. I do not believe I actually tried on a dress for almost 35-40 mins. My stylist was very sweet, however I asked for one thing and felt I was repeatedly delivered the opposite. Another thing that is very frustrating is that like any person I know, we all want something amazing and I think if we can pay less we would. I told the stylist and (I believe an owner or manager) that I would like to stay around $1000 for my dress, however if I found something I LOVED I would pay more. I also told them "Hey if you can find me less I would be thrilled!" (Wouldn't anyone??) I have worked in sales, and I feel like that would be my cue to make my customer fall in love with something amazing and get a great sell. I felt very Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when they brought my first set of dresses that were not at all what I was looking for. "Well in your price point this is really all we have.." The main characteristic I wanted was a V-neck and they had brought me a dress that was a high neck, and one that was straight across and off the shoulder. It felt like when you go to the hair stylist and tell them what you want and they pretend to listen and then cut your hair the exact way they cut their 20 last customers. To top it off I asked to purchase a slip (which is really fantastic for any dress FYI) and the stylist slipped into the back. 10-15 mins later I am waiting and still no sign of her. I had to leave and just could not wait any longer. But if you are looking for an incredible slip and have all the time in the world, this is your spot. read more

UPDATE-despite their response with their phone number below, the shop owners will not speak with me. I called and left a message at the number below but they haven't returned my call because they know what they did. Shopping for the dress was an ok experience-definitely not the luxurious, champagne sipping experience you see on TV, but they were courteous and seemed to know what they were doing. The problems came with alterations. My dress was 3-4 sizes too big when I bought it off the rack, but they assured me it could be altered. When I got it back from their in house seamstress 2 weeks before my wedding, the top went from 3-4 inches too big to 2 inches too tight in the top! It would hardly zip and my weight hadn't changed. She also had taken all the material out of the back instead of the sides, so the bust was distorted and the boning from the front was underneath my arms! It was devastating! 2 weeks before my wedding I had a butchered dress and very few local options. They took it back and tried to re-alter it and I bought backups online. I tried it on again a week before and it still wasn't good. It was too big in the bust again and just didn't fit. She had to sew in cups at the appointment to try anything to get it to sort of fit. We had run out of time so I had to just live with jt. It really looked bad. The day of I was totally regretting not wearing one of my backups but I had spent almost $2000 on this dress and the shop offered no refunds or discounts for the poor workmanship. The dress was way too big on top so it made me look huge and had no shape. We tried our best to stick it together with double sided tape but it looked like crap. I wore a bolero most of the night to try to hide the top. Right before the ceremony, one of her crappy, poorly done seams popped and the dress almost fell down. I've posted this review on multiple sites and the owner just argues with me that their seamstress is good with years of experience etc but takes no responsibility. Had an appointment this past Saturday and it was less than stellar. Stylist greeted us and asked many questions to get a feel for what I wanted. I wasn't really liking any of the dresses. My MOH suggessted a dress she saw when we had come in and the stylist definitely didn't appreciate that. There was also a dress I saw that I must have said 5 times I wanted to try on and I was never brought that dress. After about 7 or 8 dresses, the stylist just stopped the appointment. It was a very just matter of fact "well ok Kelley" without any explanation. She said to me "well based on what you said you wanted we wouldn't have anything else you'd like" and left the dressing room. (I should also note I didn't have a slip or bra that fit me and the stylist wasn't really concerned with that- I ended up wearing my own bra). We all sort of looked at each other wondering hmm, is the appointment over?! The stylist came back and handed me a card saying I'll put the two you kind of liked in your profile ok. We were also moved out of the store very quickly- someone in high heels who kept walking back and fourth said to us with her back turned to us as she walked out the door "goodnight ladies." I went in with my 4 guests (one being my 90 year old grandmother), they only had 2 chairs in the sitting area and brought folding chairs for my guests; I thought that was super tacky, considering the amount of $ wedding dresses cost. The stylist didn't ask many questions, disappeared, didn't even tell us where she was going, and was gone for a really long time. The "boss lady" finally said she was looking for dresses. I asked if they offered water - she said, "No, I don't offer water, my girls would just drink it all." Again, tacky. Dresses were typical dresses all very high priced. I found one I liked that was $1200 and was literally dirty (they told me they couldn't get me a new one before my wedding in May) so they said I would need to buy the dirty dress that had been tried on a million times. When I asked what they would do to clean it; the "boss lady" said she would give me some woolite and I could clean it at home... needless to say, I didn't try anything else on, and went to David's bridal and found a beautiful dress (that is being shipped 2 months before my wedding in May) and it was a fraction of the price. David's bridal also has plenty of room for my guests and had bottled water. Don't waste your time with this overpriced ghetto store. read more

I really had a great experience at Uptown Bride. This was not the first bridal boutique I checked out and I was a little hesitant to give it a try, as I thought it was similar to David's Bridal. I was definitely wrong! I really loved that we had our own personal space, while there were other brides there at the same time we had our own personal attendant, Jazzmin, who made us feel special and prioritized! She was extremely helpful and receptive to our wants and needs including budget and style. One of the managers or owners, not sure which, was there and she was a little abrasive about how we had seen one of the gowns at another boutique we had looked at. Then they have a bogus policy about not allowing children under the age of 12. Which I get for toddlers and children that can be disruptive and cause damage to the dresses. But an infant who still relies on their mother as their sole source of nutrition should be exempt. As a matter of fact, that's considered a medical exemption and discrimination against nursing mothers. Aliyah was amazing and kind and the store itself was pretty and well designed, but our personal stylist Stephanie was difficult to work with and overall unpleasant. This very well may be a good business and nice store, but this saleswoman is the opposite. She made passive aggressive comments to me regarding the comparisons I made to wedding gowns tried on at a previous store. It seemed like she was annoyed that I was discussing the comparisons with my mom and maid of honor, which is ridiculous considering that almost EVERY bride goes to multiple stores and tries on/compares multiple dresses. She should have been prepared for this competition with nearby shops and should have been ready to demonstrate why Uptown Bride deserved my business over the competitors. Not a single dress that was brought out was in my budget. I understand some stores do not carry dresses within a certain price range, but before my appointment I stated my budget. If they could not accommodate me within that range, or if they had limited options, they should have told me before I came in. She also used very aggressive, pushy sales tactics. She told me that if I didn't buy the dress (which was out of my budget to begin with) that very day, then they likely would not be able to order it and I would be out of luck. If she stated this just to make me aware and added "no pressure, I just wanted you to know..." or something similar, that would be fine. But she repeatedly and aggressively brought up this fact, also repeatedly informing me that if I bought the dress that day she could get me $100 off. Then, she repeatedly told my mother (who lives in the same household as me) to sit down and stay away from Me, all while she stood within 1-2 feet of me. It's perfectly reasonable for two members of the same household to stand within 6 feet, so the fact that she felt she had the right to order my mom around at what is supposed to be an experience that includes the mother of the bride was honestly ridiculous. Additionally, our stylist did not tell us anything about a COVID related limit being placed on browsing. They had mannequins and other displays placed at the front of the store, but when my mom and maid of honor got up to look at (not touch) the displays, they were again ordered to go back to their seats. If she didn't want us to browse, she should've said something BEFORE the start of the appointment. All competitors stores I went to allowed browsing. Lastly, our stylist took FOREVER to get dresses from the back. Maybe their stock is poorly organized, but I only was able to try on 4 dresses in 90min. At the two competitors I went to, I tried on 5-7 dresses in 60 minutes. Overall, very dissatisfied with this experience. Even if there had been a dress in budget here that I liked, I would have tried to purchase elsewhere so as to not give them my business. David's Bridal ended up getting my sale with a beautiful dress at a fraction of the cost that was EVERYTHING I wanted and friendly stylists who let my mom participate and did not pressure me at all. The first dress was exactly what I had been searching for! As a plus sized bride it has been hard going into shops and trying on dresses in sample sizes that just didn't fit. They actually had dresses in my size which really helped in the whole process. I went in not expecting to find anything and was so happy to have found a dress that matched my vision and fit my budget. I am in need of a wedding dress and I saw some on Uptown bride's website and I was so excited to check them out. When I got their, it was me, my mother and my 8 month old child in her carseat not making a noise. When we got to the front to check in they told me children under 12 were not allowed in their facility. I asked what the reason for that was and she refused to answer my question. My mom then said she would stay with my daughter in the lobby and the lady at the front desk told us she could not do so. I am very disappointed with how they were treating us and I would not recommend anyone there because they are not a child friendly facility and will tell you they can not help. I went wedding dress shopping at Uptown Bride after visiting one other bridal store in town the week prior. My experience at Uptown Bride was far more exceptional than that of the other bridal dress store. I was so impressed by how personal my appointment was with Aliyah. She brought out 5 dresses after I told her about my destination wedding and what my vision for my dress was. She went above and beyond to find the most beautiful dresses which made my decision difficult. Aliyah went out of her way to make me and my future mother-in-law very comfortable with her. The store itself was wonderfully set up as I had my own dressing room with a pedestal and large mirror. Towards the end of my visit, I got to "walk down the aisle" to assist me in envisioning my dream wedding dress.
