Rocked up to the bar while stopping through town. The lovely bartender was sweet and very attentive, even during a rush and serving a large party. You can tell that locals enjoy their time here and are welcomed by name by serving staff. Fresh offerings and well cooked fare, my steak was cooked to perfection at Medium Rare and was a great serving size for the price! The side of loaded mashed potatoes tasted great, but was 70% melted cheese. Ended my time by enjoying a few bites of this deliciously decadent 12 Layer Chocolate Cake, as recommended by my server. Got into Pratt late one evening, and didn't find much open. I came across this place, and although the kitchen was closed the bartender told me to order pizza from a local spot and have it delivered there. I just thought I'd pick up the pizza on the way to the hotel, but it was super nice of her to offer that. Watched some football at the bar while I waited for my carryout pizza order to be ready. Staff was very friendly and nice. Next time I'm back, I will try to make it before the kitchen closes! read more

I always stop in on my way back to Coldwater and I enjoy a delicious charbroiled ribeye and some appetizers. I enjoy sitting at the bar and watching some sports on the old school TVs and listening to some easy listening 80's rock. The service is always very good and fast! They are very friendly local people and the portions of food are HUGE! Recommend the cheese sticks (enough for 2-3 people) and ribeyes with baked potato! read more

Another road trip through Kansas and didn't realize that I had been here back in September. As I am looking though Yelp trying to find a place for lunch I tell my traveling partner about this place. We pull up and I said to him I think we've been here before. We walk in the door and I said yes and we sat right over there. We sat down and looked through the menu and I couldn't decide. The mashed potatoes were good, and I imagine any of the other sides we could have picked would have been just as good. Ordered a filet mignon. medium to medium rare, came out with very little color in it, like it had no blood in it before they cooked it, the worst fillet I've ever had at a restaurant. Charged a service charge, for what? Ordered asparagus came out way overcooked, limp, and not very tasty. Stopped in Pratt to visit a good friend and he recommended we meet at Uptown Cafe & Club D'Est for lunch. It did not disappoint. When you enter, you have two options: go left for the bar and grill atmosphere or go right for the traditional diner atmosphere. Both sides have fabulous service, but we wanted a beer with lunch, so we went left. Great menu options, but I opted for the daily special, which was a taco burger. It came with fries, a drink, and a cookie - all for $7.99. Solid food for the price, and the service was top notch. I will definitely be back the next time I drive through! read more

Stopped here for dinner relying on the reviews via Yelp. Enjoyed driving down the 'old town' roads. The Uptown is a quiet atmosphere, large dining area and tables are spacious. Ordered the taco salad bowl, turkey spinach avocado wrap and baked potato. I can attest to the sandwich which was fresh, generous size and tasty. Was told the taco salad was fresh and delicious as well. The taco bowl was generous. Even though we were stuffed, could not leave without trying their fried apple dumpling & ice cream. Told Stephanie (awesome waitress) we were splitting the dessert. She came back with two (good size) dessert cups which am sure was more than one dessert size. If you visit this restaurant, do indeed order this dessert. This meal was so filling, skipped breakfast the following day.....highly recommend ! read more

The food was delicious. We ordered 2-chicken club sandwiches , a bacon cheddar burger, fried Brussels sprouts and the southwest grilled chicken salad. $80-something tab. The food was very tasty. If I come back, I will definitely do the chicken sandwich again! I only gave 3-stars because the service was not so great. I hope that it was not because I looked different from the other diners. Our server was not very attentive to us but seemed attentive to those around us. Maybe they were friends. This restaurant is in a pretty small town. We did not receive the dinner rolls and had to ask for somethings twice. As we exited, the bartender seemed to be the friendliest employee in the establishment. Customer service is absolutely terrible. When my family and i sat down for dinner, my mom asked for a kids menu. The hostess said "it's for kids 10 and under". my mom just had gastric bypass surgery and we are visiting from out of town. My mom goes to order and the waitress brylee said my mom could order off the kids menu however she'll have to charge my mom even more. We cannot order a regular meal for my mom and take the rest home, we are almost four hours from home. Charging someone extra for wanting to order a smaller portion of food due to a medical reason is extremely ableist. read more

This is a local community anchor for some years. The 'cafe' side has a partial menu and is designed to be a little less formal and quicker. Think burgers, wraps, soup, salads, and the like. The 'club' side has really good food. They've got one of the best steaks I've had around here. It's one of my go-to's for date night with my wife. I only knocked a star off because of the wait staff. Beings as it's a local place and everyone knows everyone, sometimes they will be stuck talking for a while and you kinda have to flag someone down. The Uptown had amazing food for amazing prices! We came in with a huge party and they were quick, the service was fantastic, and the food came out in a decent time. While some of the prices are steeper, the amount of food and quality really shows in the food. The whole restaurant is clean and accommodating. The Sunday brunch was 'all you can eat' and I expected to pay $20. I was flabbergasted to find it only cost $9.99! It had delicious roast, fried shrimp and catfish, crablegs, delicious salad assortment, desserts, mashed potatoes and gravy and more. The menu is extensive and has anything from burgers to sandwiches to Southwest flavors to scrumptious desserts to entrees to seafood to salads to appetizers. Plus they have a children's menu.
