Hello it is me yet again. If you are wondering if the fire alarm issue has been resolved? No. Today is August 19th, 2024 at 6:50pm and this is the third time the fire alarms have gone off today. They are each for an extended time too NOT just a few chirps here n there. It is just horrendous. I am so sorry to my neighbors. I think someone in this building survives on the thrill of this fire alarm or maybe they have an obsessive crush on a firefighter? This place keeps Denver fire department in business. all jokes aside it takes away resources from our city's real emergencies plus it just riles everyone up around here. It's been going off for over 15 min and i'm staring at the building and not a soul bothers to go outside anymore. I hope there is never a real fire here. This management company should be sued into bankruptcy or just call it quits in my humble opinion. update, it just turned off after 37 minutes update 2, we're at round 5 of alarms today, it's 10:25pm. we had another 20 min in the 9 o clock hour too. Well, we had an appointment to see an apartment. But my daughter had three on her list, and mixed up the times. She called to say that we were on our way, but there was no answer. When we arrived, two people were sitting at their desks, apparently doing nothing besides surfing the Internet. No one else was waiting. We were told, by a large, sloppily-dressed man, that normally there was a 15-minute grace period, but we would have to reschedule. Daughter did make another appointment, for three days later, but signed a lease on the first apartment we saw instead. Good. Being treated shabbily by lazy on-site agents was NOT a good first impression. I'm glad that she chose somewhere else. I can only surmise that management might be as lazy and unresponsive as these agents. She wasn't terribly enthusiastic about the building, but liked the location. We obviously have no opinions on the apartments or management, since she wasn't able to view an apartment, much less sign a lease. read more

I've never encountered such poor customer service when trying to lease an apartment. Uptown Square showed little to no interest in helping me as a prospective resident. I never even got the chance to view a unit because of their lack of follow up, disorganization, and overall disregard for future residents. Despite my repeated outreach, including emailing Alyssa directly with the units I was interested in, I was the one doing all the follow up. By the time I finally received responses, most of the units were already applied for or unavailable to view. This was extremely disappointing and felt avoidable. When I flew into town specifically to tour apartments, an emergency required me to reschedule. I offered to come in at any available time that weekend, but Alyssa and Joe refused to accommodate, even knowing I had limited time in Denver. Their unwillingness to work with me made the experience unnecessarily difficult and frustrating. When I told Joe that I'd like to stay under $1,550-$1,600 base rent he let out an audible gasp and a response tone of judgement. I've had issues with other HighMark properties. Staff often seem inexperienced, unresponsive, and lacking in basic customer support skills. Unfortunately, Uptown Square confirmed that trend. read more

Update: It's a joke that Highmark responded to this by saying they'd take action. I expressed my concerns to them multiple times while I was still a resident and they did absolutely nothing to fix these situations. I won't waste my time by reaching out again and I'd rather air my concerns publicly to protect others from this predatory business. I also consider the response of "concerns and accusations to the contrary" to be loaded language. The problems at Uptown Square are real, as evidenced by the numerous one star reviews on this platform. In addition there have been numerous Reddit threads on r/denver about how bad this place is. These aren't accusations, they are reality. A reality that Highmark Residential absolutely refuses to address in any meaningful way. Do not live at Uptown Square or any other Highmark-managed property. I've sent this complaint into the Denver Fire Department's Fire Prevention and Investigation Division. All buildings of this apartment complex are in violation of multiple fire codes. I have worked in multi-family commercial construction for over 15 years and have done multiple inspections with fire marshals for sprinkler and fire alarm and this complex is riddled with infractions that truly prevents safety for its residents. The fire alarm system is COMPLETELY faulty. A complete re-wiring NEEDS to take place in each building. The system goes off multiple times per week without being set off from an actual fire alarm being pulled. This has happened for YEARS and now tenants do not even leave the building when alarms go off; and in the event of a REAL fire - this will prove deadly. With all the flooding throughout the building and absolute improper mitigation (I have lived through this myself ) the fire rating required between apartments is compromised and no longer provides the required 1 or 2-hour rating. The repair crews do NOT maintain proper fire protection measures regarding fire caulk, mineral wool, rated drywall etc whenever repairs are made. The voids in between apartments and floors is unbelievable and does NOT maintain the required air barrier. Corridor doors have broken mag holds at firewall locations. The low volt must be broken because the doors do not stay open as required, and instead tenants are left to prop these doors open with large rocks from outside. In the event of a fire, these firewall locations are unable to provide required ratings because corridor doors will not close because the mags don't work and they are held open by large objects. Multiple corridor fire extinguisher cabinets are either missing extinguishers or they have not maintained the required timely inspection sign offs. Corridor strobes are out of order and broken. Every component of the fire alarm, low volt and sprinkler system in regards to safety has outdated inspection tags (if any). Unit & Corridor sprinkler heads are broken, missing, etc. Exposed wires from removed strobes (and lighting) in corridors. In the winter, the attic space above the buildings does not have proper insulation, resulting in a dew point that is MASSIVELY over the maximum limit. Because of this, because this is how gravity works, the water ends up going down the exterior walls of the building which does not have an adequate building envelope and allows moisture to permeate into the apartments drywall. Tenants walls soak up all of this moisture and having experienced this myself, an entire wall in my apartment was demo'd out and left unrepaired for over 2 months. All the while on my OWN electric bill I was required to run a huge dehumidifier and 2 snail air blowers. Over 60 units were affected during this particular "Flooding from the roof" Every unit was responsible to run these 3 pieces of equipment 24/7 to avoid mold. Based on the electrical rate in denver at the time and the energy required to operate these machines, 60 tenants were forced to pay over $50,000 in energy spikes in their electric bills. The dew point issue throughout the roof also poses a HUGE danger during the winter. GIGANTIC icicles form from the moisture that leaks out from the truss space right above downtown sidewalks where people consistently walk. These icicles are literally over 6 feet in length and often up to 10 inches wide. The only "fix" the apartment complex does is barricade the sidewalk from being used; which they do NOT pull a permit for from the city. They just block off the sidewalk access instead of solving the issue. This happens every year, every winter. This apartment complex has NEVER addressed these issues. Every single review is consistent year after year. Its one thing to complain about crooked tile in your shower, but its another when every single required safety protocol is ignored by management. This complex is truly a death trap and I cannot believe a class action lawsuit has not happened... YET. read more

I have lived at uptown square for almost 3 years and the last year has been terrible. I moved units within uptown square for the last year and it has been an awful transition. They took 6 months to send me my lease giving me less than 24 hours from when I was supposed to move in to give it to me after I had been asking for months. A week after I moved in they entered my apartment without informing me to tear a hole in my wall which ended up being a three week process where my entire bathroom was torn apart and I was unable to use my shower and toilet for some time. They offered me a model unit to take showers which had me crossing a street, and going up and down flights of stairs. I sent countless emails to request a rent reduction which were ignored and denied. Also they are keeping the parcel room locked outside of their business hours, meaning it is impossible to pick up packages outside of the time that they are open. Many of my packages have been stolen throughout the years. Overall the leasing office are overworked and incompetent. I do not plan on resigning my lease. read more

I have not been living in the building for the past 3 months, and they still do not have me off the lease. The person I have taking over my lease has already moved in and added to the lease, but I have yet to be taken off. I have been trying to get in contact with someone for months now and I know they see my messages, as they have sent generic texts back, but still have yet to call me once or answer any of my questions. I have been trying to move into a new apartment for 3 months and am not able to do that until they answer / get in contact with me to get off the lease. I had an appointment scheduled for a tour. This appointment was confirmed the day of. I left work early for the tour, but when I showed up they told me they had canceled it due to some leasing agents calling out. I never received any notification of this- I showed them my confirmation emails and I they did not care. What is even more frustrating, is the three employees who were wandering around the office doing nothing while I was told I needed to reschedule. I stopped by the office to check on my work order and was greeted by, Tae. He was very friendly and helpful with ensuring my maintenance request woul be taken care of in a timely manner. In the past, there has been a lack in communication between residents and the current state of their work order. Tae went above and beyond on communication. I hope others look up to him and strive to achieve his work ethic. I would also like to mention Josh and Charles were kind, communicated with me on their process in resolving my issue and completing it in no time. Do not live here.... It's only been 3 months since I moved in and everything here is broken. The dishwasher, door frame, and a kitchen cabinet frame we're already broken when I moved in to my unit. It took over a month for the dishwasher to be fixed and I'm still waiting on the other 2 to get fixed. The parking garage gate is broken and just stays open (allowing anyone to come into the garage). Not to mention the missing door handles to enter the building from the garage. The gym has had an AC leak since I've moved in. I've already had multiple packages stolen (your packages have a 50/50 chance of being left in the package room and actually being put in a parcel locker. Also the fire alarms will go off at any time of the night/day for a few minutes. And don't even bother contacting the front office, they're absolutely clueless... The office demonstrates poor communication, and there is an obvious lack of supervision. Don't expect work orders to be completed in a timely manner or even on the dates specified on release forms. Management is so unorganized that maintenance will just show up for a repair unannounced. You'll be advised a vendor will enter your unit less than 12 hours prior with little to no time to make accommodations to relocate. Imagine working the night shift, not being able to sleep for your shift because the vendor never showed up and the office never followed up. If you can't be in your unit while work is being done but they don't tell you WHEN that work is to be done, you have to sleep somewhere for your shift?! Unacceptable. Unprofessional. Stay away from this place. Has gone down hill year by year. Now they are trying to increase rents rates by 30% and by no means is worth the rates the are asking. A/C down for two weeks during summer months. Place got up to 90° and they did nothing about it. Elevator has been down for over 2 weeks in our building. Homeless people breaking into storage units. This place is an absolute joke. No responsibility is taken from the leasing office for anything. At least 75% of the time maintenance requests are completely ignored. I've been attempting to get a door fixed for months and have placed at least 6 maintenance requests. Door is still broken and I'm still finding shit, piss and drug paraphernalia from outsiders in the stairwells. It's such an amazing feeling knowing my rent was raised $500 dollars after one year, just so I can step into the stairwell and smell cigarettes and shit every single day. Not to mention the daily sight of black tar heroin tinfoil everywhere that won't be picked up unless I do it myself. This apartment complex does not care about your safety, security, and wellbeing-only your money. Last week I had 2 packages stolen from the parcel room within a 10 minute time frame, and they ARE NOT COMPLYING with the police to release security footage and FOB logs for the room, saying they require a warrant. The detective I spoke to said 99% of apartment buildings voluntarily produce this information in the event of a crime. They will not, and have said that surprisingly, despite there being 2 cameras in the room, that the cameras "did not capture anything during that time." I spoke to another resident who said she had a bike stolen from the bike storage and they gave her the same response about the security footage-very suspicious. They care more about keeping their poor management under wraps than they do about actually addressing the issues at hand. To make things worse, someone defecated in the 3rd floor stairwell of our building on 4/23/22. A couple days after, someone came and shoveled it up and spread powder on it with just a cursory cleaning. At time of writing this it is 5/2/22. IT HAS BEEN 8 DAYS and they still haven't cleaned it up. Photos attached. There is clearly a problem with unauthorized access and they don't seem to be doing anything about it. What other reviewers have written about this place is also true. The pool was never opened at all last year. Although my building hasn't had fire alarm issues this year, last year it happened multiple times per week, and I hear them going off in other buildings very frequently. To be fair, the office staff here are all really nice and the maintenance is always very responsive, friendly, and comes with a quick fix, but it's become clear to me after multiple issues that the staff here are beholden to corporate policies in some distant office that prevent them from doing anything. Anytime there is an issue that affects the whole building, all the staff repeat the same canned lines that are seem to be provided by some PR agent at the corporate office managing this place as a cash cow. I've lived here for 2.5 years, and at first it was great but this past year especially things have taken a real downturn. As of 2/20 our car garage door that requires a fob, that we pay $75 Per car , for over two weeks has been "broken" , and the management has only sent out a note saying "make sure to lock your car", when there are multiple break ins of cars and apartments per weekend. I've lived here just over 4 yrs and Lexi and Alayna have been extremely helpful and patient with me during a move to another unit. They are thorough with information and made me feel heard and taken care of. By FAR the most affordable option in this neighborhood. Fire alarm issue in building 6 has been resolved, which I began to think wasn't possible after being there 4 yrs. No alarm sounding in ~4 mos. Hopefully didn't jinx just now. :) One star deducted as I have to get packages mailed to another address entirely because deliveries from Amazon and UPS are sent there and are often not put in a locker mail box in the parcel pending room. I don't know how the property mgmt is supposed to manage the amount of traffic the locker room gets. If you live here, don't have UPS packages delivered here because they go to the locker room no matter how small the package... I had $800 worth of music fest tickets stolen a week ago and I'm going to have to dispute with UPS. Just a heads up. read more

As I've stressed before, be sure to read the YELP reviews, as all of the other reviews are scrubbed and biased. They bribe people with "rewards" to write reviews, then only post the 4 and 5 star reviews. The management company is criminal, and staff consists of dead behind the eyes droids whose hard drive gets wiped every night so they don't remember you from one day to the next. Be sure to KEEP EVERYTHING and make sure there is a paper trail. They will do everything to avoid ACTUALLY answering your questions, and if they get caught in a lie, they will just not reply. Some examples are- on one of our leases, the leasing agent (Tara- no longer there) typed in the incorrect amount for our rent (less then they had quoted us). We signed the lease, and they signed the lease so it was an executed document. She noticed her mistake AFTER the lease was executed by their leadership and emailed us saying she "made a complete mistake," and they would be sending us a new lease to sign. I happen to work in contract management for the government, and once a contract (or lease) is executed, it's a legally binding document. I told her since both parties had signed off, we would not be signing a new lease. After moving out, we received an email with documents saying we would be sent to collections for a letter that was dated 12/1 and 1/1 but was allegedly mailed on January 7th (we moved across the street and have still not received it....) You will hear things like "let me follow up," or "I'll have a response for you tomorrow." and months will go by with no answer. We went through a whole fair housing case, that lasted several months, and almost a year later, the original issue was never even taken care. I won't get into the details because I'm sure management will leave a canned response of how they "resolved the issues, and are sorry we are unhappy." But through the entire thing we were treated with disdain, and basically told it was our fault their SIX buildings were constructed to violate the Americans with Disabilities Act (the staff didn't even know the correct year the building was constructed). We sustained multiple injuries trying to access our home and common areas, to the point we both had anxiety just trying to navigate the complex. Besides the things I've already mentioned in my previous reviews (trash and vomit everywhere, Frat party vibe every weekend) the final straw for us was when twice in a month, a rock was thrown through the glass door entrance to our building. The second time, it was the door right off of our first floor unit. We were up all night waiting for the police, and finally the "security" folks came and boarded up the door (they later replaced the glass... so the same thing can inevitably happen again). The next day when I went to the leasing office, I was shocked to hear they didn't even KNOW what I was talking about. NO COMMUNICATION WENT OUT either time this happened, and the property told me he would "talk to the patrol company" to make sure they were notified when things like this happened, AND "it could happen anywhere." ....well, not everywhere has glass doors, and rocks used as door stops on the steps where druggies and homeless people just hang out. Other places actually care about the safety of their residents and communicate with the companies they contract with. Other places take accountability for things that happen to and on their property and don't gaslight their residents to somehow make everything out to be THEIR FAULT. I think "Highmark/Milestone" Res should be investigated, and moving out was the best thing we ever did for our physical and mental health. Spend the extra couple hundred bucks and don't bother with this dump, live LITERALLY anywhere else. No matter how much they try to rope you in with the talk of "industrial lofts" and "community events," it's not worth the headache. read more

If I could give this zero stars I would. Where do I start I have lived here on and off for a few years. I have sent multiple emails to all the @uptownsquareaddress. No one answers the phone one time i called 12 times in a day even from different numbers!!. The front desk is horrible I even went in today to talk about my lease and once again we are out a community director. If they quit or got fired who the heck knows. I have an email that I even have the assistant on as well no response. The deplorable living situation is a joke. I moved out the first time due to flooding my walls were bubbling filled with water, I moved out for a bit then moved back and decided to give another unit and building ( I've lived in 3 units now) and the water damaged is so bad. The joke is no one will answer the phone, I can't get out of my lease because we don't even have a director!!! Johanna in the leasing office laughed at me today when I came in and said I took PTO to get here to talk to someone since nobody will contact me back. She said "well you can sit here until 6 when we close but no one can help you with your lease" I asked for the interim contact name and number they stated " I don't know how to get that to you I don't have it" the last director Alejandra last month was like I can only offer you this random one time $150 visa gift card for your concerns. The wall way Disney even have electricity at one point so I had to use my phone flash light to see( video below) My apartment a/c went out in 100 degree heat I begged and called on call maintenance staff to get a cheap ass window unit put in. Now my electricity bill goes up because that and I have this machine just sitting in my apartment trying to keep it cool. I have even sent an email to the west@highmarkres.com and no response. Do yourself a favor and live somewhere else. We pay $75/month for each car to park in the garage in which the door is always broken. I've had my bike stolen and car broken into in the garage I have to pay to park in. Aside from that, the utilities are shared throughout the entire building so if you move here, be aware you WILL be paying for everyone else's bills. My roommate and I are very conscious with our electricity usage. We have yet to turn on the heat and our utility bill was $265.64 last month. How is that even possible?! You are also forced to use the WiFi through the apartment building, which is almost double the cost of what it would be to have your own internet through Comcast. The seemingly "low" cost of rent upfront is an absolute scam. Prepare to be paying at least $400 more per month in additional BS. Don't move here. read more

I have lived in Colorado for almost a year. This has been the WORST experience I have ever had at any apartment complex. 1. Fire alarms can go off so frequently residents will ignore them. Sometimes they go off 3 times a day or for hours in the middle of the nigh. As it did this past Tuesday from 12am-2:38am. I work from home so this is unprofessional and embarrassing, it also hurts my credibility as a professional. 2. Security gates are broken 90% of the time. Our garage gate has been broken for over a month now. Homeless people would be found sleeping in the trash room and under the stairwells, with drug paraphernalia found in these areas as well. 3. Cars would get broken into all the time and we saw one totaled by a hit and run. 4. Absolutely 0 help with maintenance. You may as well fix whatever is broken yourself. From the date I moved in, my apartment did not have heat for over 3 months. I went through the coldest storm in denver history with no heat or heating supplies provided by my complex. 5. No one answers the phone so have fun getting ahold of leasing after they lock you into a lease. The attitude I have received from the leasing office staff is unprofessional and straight up discrimination. My white passing roommate has received better treatment and more information on multiple occasions. 6. Do not use this address to have packages sent to. I had over 700 dollars in packages stolen from me and I have reported missing packages and have only been met with passive aggressiveness and empty promises to follow up. The package room door is now broken and has been for over 3 months and has only added to the theft problem in this complex. 8. The responsiveness honestly just dies after you move in it seems, they do not seem to care about their tenants, only prospective tenants who are unaware of how rough this place actually is. 10/10 do not recommend living here. When I first moved in, it was the beginning of June and my air conditioning unit was not working upon moving in. This took them almost a month to come and fix. I have asked for a simple water filter replacement in my fridge since moving in and it has still not been done. It is now almost December. There was no accommodations offered when I didn't have AC for almost a month and management refuses to talk to residents. The leasing agents always claim they are in a meeting or "not in office today". On a positive note; the emergency maintenance people are extremely kind and responsive. Lastly, there was a homeless man sleeping in our laundry room because it is so easy to enter the buildings even without a key. The security of this building is terrible. They claim to have a line you can call for security but they can never show up or take an extremely long time. The mail room has a camera but when asking about a stolen package they brushed me off and had me fill out a form that I never heard back about. read more

DONT DO IT!! The leasing office never answer the phones or response to any messages you leave! We had fire alarms go off 5 times in 2 days and this was at all hours of the day even at 2am! People have there dogs off the leashes in the court yard and never pick up the poop! My dog was also attach by an off leash dog in the court yard I sent and email to the leasing office about it and nothing was done! Homeless everywhere cops and fire trucks drive by 24/7 with sirens blazing! The walls a super thin and you can hear legit everything in the apartments around you! When I finally got through to a person to discuss a lease, SHE HUNG UP ON ME....in the middle of our conversation. How does anyone stay in business when their employees hang up on you? Save yourself the grief and do NOT move here. I'm writing this review at 3am on 11/19/18 because the notorious fire alarms have been blowing our ear drums out for the past two hours. This is our second year here and regret signing the lease renewal. The fire alarms have been going off at random times for the past 3-4 years according to older reviews. Don't be fooled by the tour they give you either. The main courtyard just got renovated and it only took one year to complete. They'll show you the few nice areas just to get you interested. The courtyard in our building looks like trash. The bbq grill has never worked and now the fireplace has stopped working or they turned it off to save money. When we first moved in the previous property management team made us pay a $300 or more fee for 'pet DNA swab' to track down would be irresponsible pet owners who do not pick up after their own pets. The dog run is always dirty and most of the time they don't refill the bags or empty out the dog waste baskets. I've seen the same dog poop sit there for more than a week before. The DNA test swab fee is a scam and they'll take advantage of pet owners for a quick buck. They've installed a new key fob reader at the gym but failed to sync all the current residents key fob. To gain entry you'll have to walk around and then go through the front door. Why not send out a notification or put up a sign that the second entry will not work for most people? read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. The garage door gets stuck, meaning cars can't get in or out. The office NEVER answers the phone. We have had a leak in our ceiling since JULY and it is now October. The only reason they are fixing it is because we threatened to get an attorney. Colorado Renter's Rights say that maintenance requests must be fulfilled within 10 days if they are interfering with quality of life. A ceiling leak certainly qualifies as that. I encourage everyone facing the same problems to look up your rights and sue them. Counting down the days until I can move out of this shit hole. read more

the staff is never helpful. everything they don't get done is blamed on "staffing issues". maintenance requests go completely ignored- had to remind the office staff of our issues *4 weeks* after submitting a request to fix a broken SMOKE DETECTOR. They act like they have no obligation to solve their residents problems in a timely fashion. The internet built into the building is also tragically slow, the office offers no solutions, and their vendor was equally unreliable. This is the worst place, I have lived as an adult. The office staff does not tell anyone when an elevator is out of order or that the package was flooded until people complain. All six of the buildings have had bursted pipes. A staff member told me that painters would paint on a Saturday but it didn't happen. Another staff member tells me the painters do not work on the weekends. You cannot trust ANY STAFF! THEY ALL LIE ALL THE TIME. read more

Terrible management company. Flew in to view apartments and even after two weeks of back and forth and explaining to them exactly what I was looking for they showed me the exact opposite apartment and yelled at me because I questioned why they wouldn't shoe me what I'd asked to see. They're terribly rude and make a decent property completely unlivable. Update: they responded to say reach out which is funny because I did. Immediately. And I'm still waiting fo hear from someone named Dave who is "in charge". Double Update: two weeks later DAVE called. I missed the call where he left a voicemail saying "I'm calling because I understand you want to talk about something. So yeah uh well call me back." I called. And left a voicemail that day. I scheduled a tour that was confirmed through email and I even received a reminder the day of. Show up there and turns out it was their AI that scheduled it and I wasn't on the schedule at all. They said that their AI has made these scheduling mistakes before so why isn't management or the employees watching over the AI's emails???? Such a waste of time read more

Update: there were repairs made to this room in March 2020, 4 months after the initial leak. The communication from Uptown Square and willingness to inspect our apartment as requested was very disappointing, and resulted in us vacating the apartment as of April 2020. read more

The management here is a mess. I never had issues until about a few months ago when they switched up the package room and parking. My car got towed (I pay for parking) and I've had so many packages go missing I've lost count. I had one question regarding the end of my lease. It took almost a week to get someone on the phone. I then asked for them to provide written confirmation of what we discussed. I've now followed up twice with no answer. I just need someone to answer my email please. Seriously cannot wait to move out. read more

The reason so many people move here is for the price. It looks great on paper until you're a month in, getting charged community utilities. All the sudden your great price becomes 300-400 more a month. The leasing office is horrible in assisting with any problems. Whether you have an appointment or not you will be in there for an hour waiting to talk to someone because you can't get ahold of them on the phone. While sitting there waiting all they do is talk about there personal life's until finally they have a break in conversation and tell you to come back. Alarms are constantly going off at all hours of the day, you can call maintenance but they will never come to fix it, and when they do all they do is silence the alarm which is extremely illegal. They continuously break the warrants of habitability by disregarding maintenance requests. The lack of concern for residents and safety is horrendous and needs to be acknowledged. If this building put 50% effort into caring their apartments would be worth market price, but until they get a new leasing team nothing will change. Realistically their pricing is no better then any other building. Save yourself the trouble and don't move here. read more

Highmark Residential - Disappointing and Inconsiderate These are just a FEW of the issues persisting at Highmark's Denver property, Uptown Square Apartments: - Consistent false fire alarms blare both at night and during the day. The management office says the fire alarms are detecting correctly, but this issue has been going on for years based off tenant reviews from multiple websites. For example, six alarms have gone off in the past week. This is detrimental to any tenants with disabilities, AND pet owners are distraught as well. - The building doors are not secure and do not protect residents from any potential trespassers. - The parking garage gates consistently do not close completely, resulting in common break-ins and thefts. - There is no type of help/reimbursement for genuine health hazards. For example, last summer tenants did not have AC for days during the hottest days of the summer (multiple days of around 100 degrees F). It clearly violated tenant rights to a safe and habitual residence. When asked for any monetary assistance with fans, my request was denied. I could not live in my apartment for days and received no help, reimbursement, or discounts. - There is no responsibility for keeping the garbage chutes usable. For example, oversized garbage (e.g. discarded furniture) frequently blocks the door to access the garbage chute. - Maintenance requests are largely left unanswered and are even falsely marked as "completed." - There is insufficient communal space care. For example, there is debris in courtyard trees from roof repairs over six months ago, stains or holes on the property most likely will not be fixed, and maintenance equipment is left throughout the complex and not stored properly. - The resident portal app, Livly, has the community chat function disabled in attempt to prevent residents from communicating with each other in ANY way. This was done to not allow complaint posts, but it also prevents positive and helpful communication (e.g. safety tips, furniture sales...) read more

TERRIBLE MAINTENANCE/MANAGEMENT! Uptown came into my apartment with one hour notice and tore my bathroom out and left it in my bedroom and LEFT without saying a word or calling to explain what was happening. I was completely understanding of a leak in the unit below and asked them to call me and let me know when it would be fixed. Over the following WEEKS I left messages a half dozen times and they NEVER ONCE returned my call for over a month, they just kept saying someone would call me and update me, then nothing. When I finally did get the manager DAVID on the phone, he apologized and gave me this line about how communication is important and he promised me he would call me and keep me updated. Weeks later when the plumbers were scheduled to finally fix it guess who didn't show up and who never called me. I had to call him and he just gave some lame excuse blaming the plumbers. After weeks of remaining patient and waiting for repairs despite being ignored, I asked David if he would consider a rent credit considering weeks without a bathroom and not even ONE returned call. David said he would get back to me....guess who never again returned my calls? To make things even worse, weeks after this started, David asked me to send HIM PICTURES of the mess to validate what they needed to have maintenance address? Seriously?! Attached to this review on Google are a couple pictures of how my home was left by maintenance for weeks. I have since moved out to a property that values it's tenants and with management that keeps promises and returns calls. I have never experienced such disrespectful unprofessionalism, such incompetence from maintenance, and so many broken promises from the property "manager". If I had even been given the basic consideration of a returned phone call, I would never have left such a terrible review: David is 100% responsible for this negative review due to his complete lack of consideration for his tenants. read more

Update: pool is still not open due to laziness. Attached is proof that as of 7/26/21, management has not even scheduled the next inspection.

Once again, the fire alarms are going off & I cannot help but wonder what will happen if there's ever an actual fire, because I cannot imagine a world in which the tenants will evacuate since the alarms are CONSTANTLY going off. read more
