What a neat place! Tiny, but lots and lots of selections, including many I have never seen, and I've done my share of bartending in the day. It appeared to me they chose the best of the categories to make the most of their limited space in this, what I assume, is a high rent district. Still, there were reasonable bottles of wine and plenty of beer selections. At the front of the store they even have the owner's picks, which included Viking Blod, a 19% alcohol honey wine. Passed on it, but wow! Love that the locals walk in with their dogs and it's okay. Dave handled our checkout and he was super friendly. Didn't rush the checkout experience and asked where are you from, what brought you here, etc. Would totally recommend this store, and it's conveniently located catty corner to D Bar Denver, ironically next to Fluid Coffee Bar. ;) read more

I have come here many anight after the happiest hours at the local restaurant scene. Lots of stories about the ways ive ended up here in this liquor store but we won't get into that. Five easy stars because they always have the basics but they also frequently get new stuff I've never seen before. For instance one time I show up and they're unpacking these pickle shots. Of course I am a sucker for pickle shots and I had just taken a hard fall off a Lyft scooter (lime scooters are way sturdier...I wasn't even wasted yet). So I tried them and honestly they tasted like gasoline but I was so thankful for the opportunity to try this new product and distract me from my physical pain. (Dont worry i usually address emotional pain appropriately.) Sometimes I go completely off the rails and buy a vape here and get addicted to nicotine for a few weeks before I destroy it. Not knowingly walked into their free tasting made such an awesome start of our experience being in Denver. The girl employee let us try 5 of the 6 brews, which were all very delightful. I came in as a group of 3 and she was very accommodating with letting us try all of our different 5 picks. We didn't end up getting any since we were just trying to get litty titty off of Jameson (which they have). Overall great selection and cool employees. read more

Rarely do I find a selection with such tempered diversity in all categories of adult beverages as this. From Santa Fe Brewing's beautiful and surprisingly malty 7K IPA to the Avery Gose, on to 36th Vote barreled manhattans and Santa Fe Spirits, and then maintaining a rock-solid wine selection (uh hi Clous Du Val), must stop if you are in the area (or if you're not). My new job is right in the Uptown area and fortunately it required a little bit of adult beverages the other day. I called ahead to see if they carried what I was looking for and they did. For being a small neighborhood store, they have a comprehensive collection of liquor. I came in needing canned wine (a work request, I'm not ready to drink wine out of a can I snootily confess), mini Prosecco and of course local beer. The owner is very pleasant and helpful. I live close by and shop here almost weekly. I was in looking for wine, and this gentlemen named Robbie originally helped me with wine selections. It went wrong when he ask a question about what we were having for dinner and he gave me a lot of attitude about it and made condescending comments as he walked away without helping me. Another employee walked by and I asked him. Let me tell you Kurt is amazing. He made amazing wine recommendations with very little info to go on. Kurt is the only reason this place gets three stars. The other employee is just rude and seems to not care. read more

I was in the establishment a few days ago and I have wrestled with leaving a review or not. I'm now aware of his name but all I know is he had a hat and scarf on. He was very rude when I entered the store, and asked a question about a wine they didn't have and if they could order it. But he also seemed more interested in talking with his friends in the store, and making sexually advancing comments towards the other male employee. This man was incredibly unprofessional, and in my opinion has no business being apart of this business. I live in the building and will not be going back. read more

I am new to the Denver area and literally found this place by mapping Liquor Stores Nearby. I had been in several stores over the past month that were not good matches for me. Last night, I met Robbie, and this has become my go to spot! He was attentive, fun, wanted to get to know me a bit, and then when I threw in a crazy last minute question about whether he had a certain bourbon hiding in the back, he literally went to the back, found a bottle, and SOLD IT TO ME WITH NO MARKUP! I absolutely love a good neighborhood find, and while I'm not living in this neighborhood right now--this IS my new go to! LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. We go to MSP for one Vikings game per year and now we have a go to spot for Saturday. They have everything u could want if u want an upscale sports bar! We sampled a couple interesting beers then moved to wine. Great small plates and plenty of tvs to keep up with college football games. Wednesday they closed at 6:30pm with no sign to tell you why or that they changed hours. And then today (Monday 8pm) closed again even though it says they are open till 9pm online. We have bought an embarrassing amount of wine from this store, always of great quality. Today, we opened a bottle after work and found it tasted strange to us. We brought it back to the store still mostly full, and the guy working offered to replace it immediately. He then tasted it and let us know it was a bad bottle, but that "corking" is so rare that we wouldn't have to worry about the new one. Sure enough, it tastes great. But the thing that stands out to me is that every time I walk by there seems to be an employee right by the front door smoking a cigarette. When you go to small liquor store you expect things to be easier than if you go somewhere like Argonaut. My friend forgot their ID but I had mine. We are both in our mid 30s and they refused to serve her. When I try and buy the alcohol by myself they claim that state law says that they can't sell me alcohol for the next 24 hours. Which is a complete lie. You're actually allowed to sell alcohol without seeing an ID at all. It's fine if you want to call something a policy and have an annoying policy that makes people want to go to a large liquor store. But don't sit there and try and pretend like you know the law when you obviously haven't bothered to look it up. Next time I'll save my money and drive down the street to The Argonaut! read more
