After 15-20 min, when the fire trucks did not show up, the residents called the fire department. Then Alarmex blamed the panel which is maintained by Alarmex. Recently, Alarmex was asked to provide a quote for a CO sensor upgrade. Alarmex excluded critical requirements in the quote which were highlighted by their own technician. Without these critical add-ons, the upgrade would have been ineffective. When highlighted, Alarmex refused to accept the error and is asking 50% more money to include the add-ons. Instead, Alarmex is pushing to install without the add-ons which their own technician said is ineffective. It is a case of professional malpractice.

The technician arrived and asked to go on the roof first to check on the condenser. After about 30 minutes he came back and told me that there were several things wrong with it and that the whole system needed to be replaced. I asked if he wanted to look at the air handler in my crawl space but he said that there is no need that the whole thing needed to be replaced and that with a crane rental the total would be about 20k. I asked when I could have someone here to give me a quote and he said they can have someone here within an hour and that they would be calling me. No one ever called. He left and I called JF HVAC for a second opinion. He came over the same day and looked at the condenser on my roof and said it was fine and then looked at the air handler and said that the drain was clogged and the emergency switch had been switched off. He drained an entire shop vac full of water out and switched it back on and it works perfectly now. My guess is that Cranney technicians get commission for convincing homeowners that they need a whole new system even when they don't. Very shady, don't use them!!
