Dr. Ed is a serious believer in the healing power of chiropractic adjustments, and I feel confident that I am getting a level of care above what I had previously experienced at other locations in Rochester. At UCCC, they focus on the cervical spine, and all of the adjustments are administered only after a brain stem scan and some physical checks. Adjustments, when needed, are gentle (no contorted bodily cracking) and quick. A typical visit lasts about 30 min from signing in, getting scanned, resting, getting adjusted, resting again and in some cases getting a final scan. The team here uses amazing technology to pinpoint misalignments using a 360-degree xray/imaging tool, and a hand-held 'brain stem scanner' which measures brain waves for stress caused by misaligned vertebrae. Each course of care starts with the xray, which is used to diagnose the exact nature of injuries and the program of alignments to come; then each visit starts with review of your symptoms and brain function. If there is no stress, you don't get adjusted. If there is stress, you'll get an adjustment appropriate for what the scan shows. And it might be a little different each time. While it is possible to pay as you visit, I chose to pay a lump in advance for a set number of adjustments per month. This works well for me and my schedule, and keeps me feeling good. And, if I have an episode of acute pain (which has happened a couple times), I know that Dr. Ed and Dr. Bhavik will do their best to see me ASAP and get me back in alignment. If you are someone who is interested in chiropractic care as part of your wellness routine, but you don't like 'traditional' chiropractors who contort your body and crack your neck and spine with force, definitely go in and see Dr. Ed and Dr. Bhavik. They'll tell you straight if they can or can't help you, and there are numerous options for different programs of care to fit every budget. You can even tell them I sent you!

From the front desk (Sophia) and all the staff that I have seen there, they go out of their way to know you and show that they care. Currently I see both Dr Brendan, Dr Kathryn (physical therapists) and Dr Evely (chiropractor) there and I appreciate all their knowledge and wisdom in my recovery process. I really don't think I would have progressed in this long season of post-surgery recovery. I truly appreciate their individualized approach and care while also encouraging me to not be discouraged in this season of my life physically. You can tell they put the client first and you feel valued and they truly listen to how you are doing each week and try to tailor the exercises and therapy based on how you feel. For physical therapy, I get a lot out of a one 30 minute session versus a larger run-of-the-mill physical therapist clinic who see many clients at one time where they often use a cookie-cutter approach. I also like how they incorporate the manual therapy techniques in their sessions besides just the exercises. For chiropractic care, I have been doing the ultrasound and regular adjustments for my back and knee. The table they also use really helps to align my hips and lower back. Both for chiropractic and physical therapy care, they also have used various manual therapy techniques like cupping, massage gun, stretching and manipulation techniques which have all helped in my journey to recovery. He was able to get me on the path to corrective care and prevent further damage. My back used to "go out" so bad that I could not stand up. I'd fall to the floor in excruciating pain. I'd be stuck on the floor for hours. Trying to move at all was extremely painful. I went for an initial consultation, and he said he felt he could help my issues even though it was an old injury. He was right. I finally got relief, and my back never gets so bad that I can't stand up or walk. Since I started going to him, I no longer have chronic ear infections, TMJ pain, migraines, and dizziness. At one point, I was having issues with one of my knees, and he was able to fix that. He does tendon work and muscle release, which most chiropractors do not do. He looks at the whole body and determines what adjustment you need. He corrected scoliosis with a series of regular adjustments in one of my kids. The other kid complained of hip pain which was resolved with an adjustment. I can't speak highly enough of Dr. VanZeilen's chiropractic skill and care for his patients. His adjustment techniques address the problem and are based on what you need, not a one size fits all adjustment. At one point, I suffered a herniated disc. Dr. VanZeilen was able to help me. It healed up, and I did not need surgery. He cured me of the terrible migraines I suffered for years after a fall. That's reason enough to see him. We moved away for about a year, and one of the deciding factors in moving back was Dr. VanZeilen. We could not find anyone that provided this type of care elsewhere. Go see him. You won't regret it!
