I get they need to be careful but when I come in with a product and a receipt and the product is obviously broken, and I bought the items that day I should not be treated with distain. If it had only happened once I would be sure it was just an employee having a bad day, but in the last 14 years that I've lived here the handful of times I've needed to make a return. I've been treated bad each and every time. Once had a cashier ring up a gift card. She told me the gift card didn't work and she kept that gift card and grabbed a 2nd gift card. Come to find out I get home and I had paid for two gift cards one for the dishonest cashier and another for the grieving widow in which I was purchasing the gift card for to begin with. When I called the store and informed them of the dishonest action, they told me they could not help me in the matter. I do not understand how with as many cameras as they have in that store they could not check. There have been several other costly incidents, so much so that we rarely buy our groceries at Walmart anymore and now we use another store.

I would pick up but there's never a time slot the same day. Plus half the pick up spots are empty while cars are driving in circles just trying to find any spot. Usually have to park way in the back of the lot-and being heavily pregnant makes it more of a pain to get inside. Aldi and Price Cutter are a lot easier to get into, and if you have access, the military base commissary.

Nothing was marked so I asked about the prices. She said they were inside the shoes. When I said I didn't see them she joked; "well someone's gonna get fired." I looked at her she looked at me.. nothing...I said never mind and just left. I want it to patronize them otherwise I have to drive to Academy Sports in Rolla. But, most things are overpriced and their selection is not very good.

Some things are exactly how I remember them, and a lot of it is new, but somehow it still feels like coming home. I retired in 2016 and haven't been back here since 1997 when I PCS'd out, so I always wondered how the base held up over the years. After walking through the PX, I can honestly say I like the improvements. The layout is clean and easy to navigate, and it feels updated without losing that familiar on-post feel. The tax-free shopping is still a win, and the selection covers everything you'd expect for daily needs without the chaos of a big off-post store. It's efficient, practical, and easy to get in and out, which is exactly what you want on a military installation. What stood out most was the customer service. The staff were polite, helpful, and moved with that understanding of military life. No rushing, no attitude, just solid service. That alone goes a long way. The added amenities like food options and other services make this more than just a PX. It's a convenient hub that saves time and makes errands easier for those stationed here. The Fort Leonard Wood Main Exchange may not be flashy, but it doesn't need to be. It delivers convenience, value, and a strong sense of familiarity. For someone who started their Army journey here decades ago, it was good to see the place still standing strong and moving forward.
