This place is a true gem - a hidden mini mecca for antique and thrifters!! I've driven by numerous times and finally decided to exit my vehicle and explore it yesterday, and I'm so glad I did!!! It's so much bigger inside and filled with epic treasures from vintage dishes to beautiful furniture pieces. They have a great outdoor section and inside, so many unique pieces to please most any thrifter or antique lover. Beautiful open, organized layout to roam around and very friendly, helpful staff. My quick "I'll just check it out," turned into an hour of thrifter heaven and a few beautiful pieces that now grace the walls and shelves of my home. Prices are fair, depending on vendor; their merchandise is good to high quality. How did I not know about this place before? Discovered it when searching for antiques on Yelp. When pulling into the parking lot, I couldn't tell what type of store it was from the outside. Stark white wall. It wasn't until I stepped through the front door and was greeted at the front desk that I could tell the store is cool. I saw a bunch of vinyl right when I walked in. Can't miss it. Rows of antiques and new merchandise. Mostly large furniture and home decor, but a variety of everything else. Booths, well organized. They also have an outdoor patio where they sell more merchandise, where I noticed a couple unique flowering trees. Not for sale. A lot of unique items in great condition, if you're willing to pay the price. read more

Urban Americana is a great vintage and antique store. They truly have an expansive amount of very high quality merchandise, art, furniture, jewelry, tableware, tchotchkes, clothing, LPs, you name it. You want it, they probably have it. This is a very large store located between Pacific Coast Highway and Anaheim in the LBC. The aisles of the store are very wide and everything is organized very well. It's truly an experience to go in here and walk around. You never know what you will find. That's probably the greatest thing about this business. It is a great location to find that very unique gift, that something you never knew you needed, or something very specific that you will probably never see again. The staff here are all very nice. Urban Americana is a cool antique mall in a loading dock/warehouse building on ultra hip Coronado Ave in Long Beach. It's ultra curated. They don't just let any vendor in! Each stall tells a story... it's really neat. Not a lot of junk here like some antique malls. I go every few months and every few months it's different with cool, new stuff. I have found the prices to be really reasonable. Sometimes I think they could ask for more than they do! So definitely make it part of your thrifting and antiquing rotation! read more

The prices seem slightly high for Long Beach but very reasonable for LA County. This is the place to go if you are looking for items ready to place in your home or toward a project. This is the coolest retro antique store I've ever been in! We were trying to go to the record store across the street, only to find it closed an by appointment only. We decided to take a peek across the street since they have antiques. Walked in and found a very large section of records. I left my husband there while I browsed. There was so much cute stuff I would love for my home, especially the outdoor furniture. There are three skateboard walls - one of the walls have skateboards for sale. The other two are the owner's collection. This place is a bit on the pricey side, but I would say if you are looking for a unique find and willing to pay for it, this is your best bet. read more

It is a huge space for vendors to display their own vintage collections for sale and it is almost 100% good stuff. This place is a great find. I felt like a kid all over again. The vintage items brought back so many memories. I fell in love with a lot of items. It is very pricey though. I understand that these are all vintage but some are so over priced. I did go back to purchase some chairs but they were sold by the time I went back. So word of advise, if you like it but it or else you won't find it. I'm definitely going back to see what treasures I find. read more

People make fun of me over my complete obsession with Mid Century Modern furniture but it really is the highlighting moment of furniture history and Urban Americana has it all. My friend took me here while I was visiting her and just told me it was a shop with MCM furniture. It's not...ITS A WAREHOUSE FULL OF MCM FURNITURE!! All of it in impecible condition, some of it very rare and hard to find. I was so upset I was 2000 miles from home and I didn't even dare ask if they ship lol. I know I should have but I was looking out for my credit card balance and making sure I didn't give my husband heart palpitations while I was out of town lol. He's lucky a couch didn't show up on our doorstep though! Urban Americana is really a furniture hunters mecca. They had everything from Atomic fireplaces, lucite furniture & accessories, couches & chairs, office furniture, lamps & artwork...so many lamps & artwork! They even had outdoor furniture and planters by Gainey. This is probably one of my favorites of 2020 and a place I will go back to next time I'm in Long Beach. Very nicely decorated place. Just wish the lady behind the counter was a little more inviting. Maybe she was having a bad day or maybe we didn't look like the type of customers she preferred. Oh well, was looking for a place to pick up some tiki themed things occasionally and maybe some bigger pieces of furniture. It's gotten harder ever since Oceanic Arts closed down. If you enjoy more of an "Antique" store vibe like I do, then this is not the place to visit. Urban Americana is more of a modern mid century store, mainly large furniture items with a few nick nack items here and there. With that being said, they did have some nice things, but very pricey and not what I was looking for. The layout was very easy to maneuver through, which was nice. I did want to mention, they do have a pretty large section of records for sale. Parking was available in their gated lot, as well as on the street. Both accessible to the entrance. Overall it was a fun visit. Three stars were given mainly because it was not my cup of tea so to speak and we were not greeted upon entering. This place is cool! It's not your typical "antique mall" filled with junk from your childhood that was never worth saving in the first place, rather it's filled with stuff I really wished I DID have! It seems the folks running the place have carefully picked unique and distinctive items that evoke a cool, nostalgic feel and bottom line, I like it! Lots of nice mid-century furniture, signs, posters and knick knacks along with some very unique items. Mounted gazelle horns anyone? So regardless if you find something or not, it's worth a trip down memory lane to see if anything catches your attention. Parked over on a side street to go into the Mexican restaurant for Cinco de Mayo festivities. When I came out I noticed the decor and thought HEY!! go check this out (new office might need some vintage decor) and they have their own parking lot in front of the doors. Urrhhh so I sorta lost my mind and took like a massive amount of pictures as I really want people to get a good idea of all the treasures to find here. I think it's sort of a consignment basis here. The employees are nice and allow you to wonder about, the music is a great back drop too. Pricing for items didn't seem TO out of the ordinary. I mean, call it what you want, this IS an antique shop. A plethora of vintage bar beverage ware that is so hard to find unless you peruse hours and hours on ebay. 60's & 70's living room decor all over the place in here. I tell you if you are a professional interior decorator you probably already know of this place and if you don't... You better COME on down and check it out. This is a cool place to pass some time. It's a large warehouse with various vendor stalls, mainly selling mid-century modern furniture, dishes or records. I'm not a big antique fan so I didn't spend long here but I felt that the items were pretty expensive. If you're looking for something rare and have money to spend, you'll probably be successful here. I came across a desk I loved but it had some deep scratches on top and a wonky side and it was still over $400. I found a couple of Eames Lounge Chairs which are my dream to own when I have the space for them, so that was pretty cool. They also have an outdoor area with patio furniture. read more

Drove from Pasadena to take a look (Long Beach may as well be another state for me) on a very hot Saturday afternoon. Got a scare looking at the outdoor area because they wanted $40 for a simple clay pot one can find at Target (guess the clay is super old), but after browsing inside I found some nice pieces of furniture and nic-nacs in my range. Settled on a beautiful bookshelf that was on sale for $450 and I was able to talk to seller down another $50. I would have given 5 stars except the delivery service they hooked me up with wasn't responsive and did a poor job communicating. They flaked on me for the first delivery date then were over 45 minutes late the next day without a heads-up. To be fair, the manager did reach out to see if they were going to deliver the unit and told me they are unaffiliated with Urban Americana, but it's still a service they chose to use. I paid the $110 delivery fee regardless. read more

I love coming here every so often just to see what they have and trip around Long Beach in general. Let me share with you my last experience... Went antique store shopping 3 weeks ago and of course, Urban Americana was one of the stops. Perused the various stations but only walked out with some records. However I saw some vintage dishes that caught my eye and I snapped a pic to help me remember. Fast forward to last week and I couldn't get these dishes out of my mind! I decided to call them up to see if they were still available and if I could purchase them over the phone. After emailing them the picture they were able to locate said items and sent me an itemized list of every piece in that design. From the first phone call to the emails back n forth with Dania to Lori and Liv helping me with the final steps of the transaction, l couldn't have asked for better service. Picked up my dishes today and just looking at them gives me joy. read more

So much cool stuff that it makes me want to cry! Couple reasons for my tears, but mainly because I don't live in the area any longer. I would have loved (though my bank account would have been slimmer) to have the options that Urban Americana offers up. The stalls are, for the most part, well laid out and displayed with amazing vintage products that span a wide range from primitive to modern fare with the decades of the 60's and 70's particularly well-represented. So if your house looks anything like my time capsule, you'll want to check it out! Prices aren't super bargains, but are on par with the quality and region.
