Urban Motorsports doesn't need my review. The shop stays busy AF, has 5 stars already, and frankly, there aren't many other places that sell scooters in the Austin area. Still, I feel driven to share my experience shopping for my wife's anniversary gift this year: It was clear my business matters to Greg and Mel before I ever committed to purchase. Despite the phone ringing and the shop buzzing, I enjoyed their full attention each time I brought a new series of first-time-rider questions and concerns. They were transparent about the process and options, obligations and resources and I left informed and empowered. In the end, after weeks of planning/chasing parts/coordinating logistics & details, Urban Motorsports produced a custom scooter- perfectly suited to my wife's vision. After 6 years I finally got my scooter running like new again it's a 2014 Stella with less than 2000 miles . I LOVE Urban Motorsports - definitely the best moped shop in the Austin area. My partner and I were looking for an electric moped and this was the only shop that had options available to look at, and Greg, Mel, and the rest of the staff were incredibly helpful and answered all of our questions each time we went in. They never pressured us to buy but helped us find exactly what we were looking for. We ended up getting a Ziggy G5 and absolutely love it. Especially given that you don't pay for gas and there's minimal/no maintenance, we're finding the payback period is turning out to be way quicker than we expected. Not only did they "do me right" in that sale, but they also took care of me after the sale any time I needed maintenance, merch, etc. Once they even did the work for free and trusted me to pay because my payday was a week away. GOOD PEOPLE! Also, when I had mechanical issues with a truck, one of their mechanics was like, "Pull it around back and let me take a look." I had a great time shopping here for my first ever scooter. I was really nervous when I came in but Mel was amazing and had me feeling at home in no time. They had awesome used scooters for sale but we ended up buying a new buddy with a great warranty. I really appreciate the time that Mel took to explain the different pros and cons of each scooter for my particular commuting need. I never felt pressured or that I was trying to be talked into something I didn't need. Mel also made sure that I got a helmet that was my correct size since I didn't know that either lol. Finally I love the fact that I can bring my scooter here to be serviced if it ever needs it (or for oil changes lol). Urban did a great job helping me purchase my first scooter, and followed it up with my 2nd scooter as well. I walked in knowing what I wanted, ready to drop $6k on an upgraded model during their back to school sale with 3 year warranty and roadside assistance. After negotiating pricing for 2 weeks, being offered a lower trade-in value than negotiated with the boss, then then tried to downgrade me to only a 2 year standard warranty. All in all- make sure you double check your paperwork. Great service, but be leery of the promotions. read more

My wife and I both had our scooters fixed/tuned up at Urban Moto over the past few months and both are running as well as they ever have. One scooter, an '88 Honda, had been twice to another repair shop in town and the issue was never fixed properly and the scooter kept breaking down. Urban fixed the issue and got the old lady up and running like a dream with no issues since we got her back. The work was affordable, the staff honest and friendly, and we got our scooters back quickly and better than ever. They even did a pickup from our house when we couldn't get it into the shop for a small fee, which was really convenient for us. 10/10 would recommend for scooter repair in Austin. read more

This is a great place to get your scooter serviced!! The staff is SO nice and welcoming. They are honest and extremely efficient. I brought in my Honda ruckus recently and they gave me a great price for an oil change, final drive, etc. The total price was cheaper than the other places I considered going to which made me very happy! They also reattached one of my mirrors free of charge. It only took about 20 minutes for everything. I will continue coming back here for their fantastic service! It's sometimes hard to find cheap and quick service. Without a doubt, this is a quality place. Two of my best friends also come here. You will not be disappointed! Side note: They normally have an inspection guy their but currently he's out of town so they recommended me to a place just down the road (about 3 minutes away). Very convenient! read more

Probably gonna be a really long review so if you don't read all of it just know this place is awesome and you need to check it out. I'm a college student, first time scooter-buyer, and was in the market for a cheap 50cc scooter to get around campus and maybe interurban travel on the access roads off I-35. I checked craigslist and another shop before finally coming here. They're a bit hard to get in contact with so leave a message if the phones busy and they'll call you right back or shoot them an email. Mel was straight up with me from the start, letting me know that if I wanted a scooter with that type of capability I would need something with more power. I had an idea of how much I wanted to spend, but more power would mean more money and that made me a bit nervous. Mel gave me plenty of time to think it over and was more than happy to show me scooters within my price range once I decided to go for a scooter with more power. We decided on a Cabo 150cc that I could get for under $3000 after titling and fees and all that stuff. Urban Motorsports doesn't offer in house financing or anything like that so I had to call my bank to work out the financing but long story short my bank wanted me to get a more expensive scooter (lol didn't see that coming). I asked Mel if there were more expensive bikes and that was the only point where we looked at some pricier scooters. I really appreciated the fact that they didn't try and sell me on a scooter outside my price range before that point, which is super rare to find from a business these days. After a bit more looking I decided on a Buddy 125cc. Awesome blue color, great power, and can do everything I needed. I got everything set up on my side and had my Buddy back home with me exactly one week later. They set the scooter up for you, do all the registering and tedious paperwork, AND send you home with a full tank of gas. I think this is a business that genuinely cares about their customers and does a great job of expressing it. Mel was friendly, direct, and above all helpful throughout the entire process. I couldn't have asked for a better place to start my scooter riding experience off and can't wait to see them all again at 500 miles. Check this place out, I promise you won't regret it. read more

This place is great. I had gone in to buy a scooter a few weeks ago. I was helped by Val. She showed me around and showed me some of the scooters and some helmets as well. I was able to buy a top box for the scooter from them also. I ended up getting a Buddy Scooter. The Genuine Buddy Scooter company also sent me a free t shirt. I don't know if that was related to Urban Motorsports or if that is just something that they do no matter where you buy. I paid for the scooter upfront and did not do financing although I do believe they offer it. I was very impressed that they were willing to deliver the scooter to my home.
