I was looking for black toms and I found in no time, they have really cute adidas shoes which now gives me an excuse to go back. Don't judge me. Yes, I am too old for this place. I'll admit it. That, and... This place is unnecessarily expensive to boot. Please note how $89 sweaters magically become $19.99 once they're 'out of season', or how $99 shoes are $9.99 in the clearance section once there are only a few odd-sized pairs left. This place is a chain, and it's not the worst. But it's not the best, either. I like the kitschy, funky, colorful housewares and odds 'n ends, but again, generally overpriced. T-shirts and sale items are usually my go-to at Urban. I won't not go back, but I'm always a skeptical shopper. Ahhck. Who am I kidding? Urban Outfitters has always been one of my favorite stores so I'm happy that I won't have to take the trip down to Chicago to see this unique charming little botique chain. They have hip clothes, accessories, and shoes for both men's and womens besides interesting home decor, books and other novelty items. I always crack up with the crazy things in that store. When first visiting this new location I was nervous since it was crazy busy outside and parking was very difficult. A bar across the street was getting a delivery from a beer truck that was blocking off the front entrance so all the metered spots in front of the store were not accessible (some people were parked in too!). Inside the store was busy as well. Since this is right in UW-Milwaukee territory it was filled with students that made me feel old. But I pressed on and found some good stuff. The clothes here are definately not the run of the mill mall type clothing.... lots of silly t-shirts, deep V-Necks/open back, slinky fabrics, and retro prints. Most is cool and interesting but there are a few cheap acrylic blends and stiff prints. With the store being so busy, I was terrified by the long line wrapping down the aisle. I stayed in it and it moved very fast (almost too fast because I was planning to browse the jewelry that the line was near but I didn't have time to see it all!). Another love hate---- Urban Outfitters has a lot of creative things...such as the mustache glasses. BUT everything is so ridiculously priced. It makes me sad. There are tons of fun books, note pads, and house accessories but I don't want to pay 15 for a silly glass that looks like its from Ikea (and I love Ikea...but I'll go to that store). I like to stop in here and there...pick up some tights...and browse. I am a picky person and I just don't want to pay a ridiculous amount for something I could get elsewhere for cheaper. I like this store. Always have. I've bought books, clothes, and kitchenware here. They're the most boutique Target you will ever, ever in your life find. Wallpaper? Check. Doorknob? Got it. Stickers, books, a photo-biography on Banksy (which is an AWESOME book)...check. If it's not food, you're covered. Just bring money. Lots of money. It can go quickly here, as the coolest of the cool t-shirts are easily double the only barely cool t-shirt's prices. And you will find a lot of knick-knack stuff that you won't be able to live without. And I will tell you, that when you start early at Vintage on a Saturday, those impulse purchases happen with much more frequency than you might like. All around, though, this is a store that you can spend an absolute ton of time in between looking through books, clothes, coffee mugs, etc, without spending a dime. I usually buy things second hand, but lately my boyfriend and I began shopping here. My vice? Cheap leggings, only $5 a pair. His vice? One of the few places in the area to purchase a nice section of new Levi's from. (He's a Levi's junkie.) I bought my turntable from here as well. People are going to complain about the price of things here, but they just aren't skilled shoppers. Buy out of season items in advance for the next season when they are on clearance. I have a confession. I am that person who wears tons of shirts with cats and dogs on them. I freaking love animals. I talk to dogs and cats on a regular basis. I like em more than humans actually. But I digress... I get my fix of awesome kitty/puppy shirts/shoes/accessories at Urban. Just this year alone I think I have purchased at least 4 shirts a pair of shoes and possibly a purse. When I get to Urban I head straight to their sales section cause they usually have some awesome deals. I also really dig that I've found some awesome vegan products here to wear with my crazy cat lady shirts. I used to really enjoy their housewares selection, however it has slowly dwindled at this particular location. Now they have very few items left so I am forced to go to their website when I am looking for housewares. One beef I have is the prices of products versus the quality. I have purchased many items of jewelry from Urban (on sale obviously) only to find the clasp is broken or breaks soon after. I would be really annoyed if I were paying full price (sometimes 16 dollars and up) for something that breaks shortly after purchase. read more

Everyone's really friendly and helpful here it's great! What isn't great is the prices they have for everything. It's pretty expensive but I guess it costs money to impress your friends with a Bansky art book on your coffee table. Onetime I bought shoes here that were on sale and they looked and felt great. After a long summer of adventure fell apart at a concert I was at. That doesn't have much to do with the store but is more a story I wanted to share. read more

However, if you don't look like the employees get ready to be looked at awkwardly, not helped, and pretty much ignored until you have to pay them. UO.....I love to love you and I wish I could love you more but my checking acct. won't let me. This place is a gem and has hidden gems within: meaning that some, not all, of their stuff is with the price. Most of their hats and scarfs are worth the price, and they're quality. Only some of their clothing are really worth the big bucks though. They do have some pretty decent deals throughout the year, and you can't beat free shipping and then be able to return it in store. You just have to take your time during the search, touch the fabric and feel the weight of it; most of their winter sweaters are very much worth $50-70 because they're so well made. So take your time shopping and you're sure to bring home some of your own lost-but-now-found gems. read more

Unbelievably expensive for the quality of the clothes. $60 for a t-shirt with a cat on it? No thank you. And with my experience the sales associates are incredibly rude, as if to say "YOU'RE going to buy this?" I will never shop here again, and I regretted it the first time. Large open store layout. Lots of awesome stuff to buy. Some things are a bit more expensive than I think they should be. So it's not ideal for those on a tight budget. But if you're looking for unique items for your wardrobe that offer a bit more than just being "trendy" you'll enjoy shopping here. The staff was a bit standoffish and chatty (amongst themselves) however. That's the only thing I noticed to classify them as four stars. read more

I went there Iast night, I found a pair of gladiator sandals for $9.99 even though it''s 24.99 on their site and it comes in gold and black. - They had a bunch of Obama tees. I found a really cute sweater dress its expensive I hope it goes on sale soon it could be dressed up or down. The back sale room is where it's at-you can find a bunch of tshirts for 9.99. I love going into Urban. I especially love its location. I enjoy walking to Prospect Alterra, ordering a medium black coffee, and strolling back down Prospect to enter the fashion Mecca that is Urban Outfitters. Whether I want a record, a camera, sunglasses, Toms, an overpriced sweater, or unique dining ware, this place has it all. Somethings are too expensive, but some items are real gems. I love their tights-at 2 pair for twenty bucks, it's a great deal, and they are super comfortable and fashionable. They now have Toms (these have become popular shoes...I HATE Toms because they fall apart after three months..and Urban staff agree that they are not durable) but they are a shoe with a message...so that's cool. They have one of the best sale sections in Milwaukee. It's super fun to go through racks and racks of sale items. The music is great. And the workers are really nice and friendly. Very disappointed with the customer service at Urban Outfitters. Purchased a portable record player and it was missing the part for playing 45 records. When I called to see if I could get the part- hoping they could pull the part from another record player at the store (it's a little plastic piece) they refused and said they would have to order a whole new record player which would take weeks. I asked why they couldn't just order one for their own stock and immediately replace my missing part, they wouldn't do it. An easy fix and truly a no-brainer, but they refused. Won't shop here again. read more
