I love this store! Everything is colorful and uniquely styled. I especially adore their home goods and clothing designs. The cloth prices are more pricy, if you're looking for good quality and something different, this is the place to go. You won't end up wearing the same thing as everyone else. I love browsing through Anthropologie while I'm in Third Ward. There are so many unique items from household to chic clothing and beautiful accessories. It also smells great and has a very open clean space to walk through. I like the clothing, but it can be very expensive. Actually, the whole store is a bit overpriced, but everything is so unique. I will usually browse through the front of the store and then head to the back where the sale/clearance section room is. I usually find some hidden gems back there. The service has always been great. I'm always greeted with a smile and if I try things on, there is always someone in back to help with sizes. read more

It's still too expensive and I have conflicting feelings about my obsession, BUT! Here's a secret tip: On Tuesdays, they have super-secret sales. The sales are either on home goods or on clothes, and they're only on Tuesdays, and also? They alternate, so every other week it's clothes or home-y stuff like candles and throw pillows and all that delightfulness. And don't forget the always on sale cave in the back of the store. I love that there is an Anthropologie in the third ward. I always enjoy browsing through the apparel and the home goods, even if I don't buy anything. A lot of the clothing is very Frenchy to me, and that's certainly not a bad thing. I always have to check out the sale room in back, and I appreciate that I am able to find some clothing made in the USA in their shop as well. There are always employees around to help you if needed, both on the sales floor and in the dressing room area. If you join their loyalty club, they email you a coupon for a percentage off during your birthday month and I like to go in and look around for a gift to myself. read more

While at check out with my daughter said you should probably join the Anthropologie loyalty program. Cashier 032022 immediately said in a tone with attitude "it's not a discount program". This store is awesome and a great corner location in the Third Ward. The sales associates are always incredibly friendly and the store is designed so well. On one special occasion, I came in to buy champagne glasses to ship to newly engaged friends. The associate wrapped them for me, let me write a hand written note and then even comped the shipping! I was floored. It was an amazing customer experience. Anthropologie is one of those stores I walk past every day and love, but can only afford to walk in every once in awhile. I love everything about it, except the somewhat high prices (I'm cheap okay). But you always know you're getting good quality and clothes that will last forever. read more

What a messed up experience! Never order from their gift registry! I ordered a set of bowls, plus three larger bowls to be sent to someone for their wedding, with the package gift wrapped and a message of good wishes inside. They sent the set of bowls separately, without gift wrap and with no message. They then told me the other three bowls would each be sent in separate boxes with only one message on one box and that I would be charged three times for gift wrap. When I asked what could be done to fix the situation, they said nothing could be done about the set that was already sent and that I could cancel and reorder the second but it would be the same situation. They could not send the items together as a gift. They became very defensive. The attitude was, if you don't like it, go somewhere else. Messed up system. Horrible customer service. No responsibility on their part. I will never order from them again. If I could give them minus stars, I would. read more

Okay as much as I love going to this store and looking at all the cool unique clothes, I can never find anything that fits and is flattering. The style here is unique and chic - Guess that's why it's in the Third Ward. It is a chain but the clothes aren't anything like superstore chain clothes. Prices are moderate given the alternative nature of the store similar to a mid-range boutique. Besides clothes they have a housewares section with cool patterned dishes, accessories and glassware. Want to have a unique dinner party? Get some new things here to dazzle your table. I have bought some nice accent pieces because those don't require me trying them on. I just have to like the colors. One cool thing about this store is they let you bring your dog in to browse with you. They have wooden floors so makes it easier if your pooch has an accident. Hope not though! Oh and they have some jewelry too to adorn your new outfit if you find the perfect look. My wife bought a bridesmaid dress online. Close in size so she ordered the next size up just in case. Ordered in April and just got it 5 days before the wedding. Guess what, same size dress, dress has been hemmed sorter obviously and has white stains on it. If I was anyone I wouldn't count on this company. So here we are the day before we fly across the country shopping for a dress. They have no sense of business and if you like there style you can can go elsewhere for better service and price. Great style? Yes! Reasonably priced? Nope. Being low on cash, this is the type of store that makes me mentally jot down fashion notes for what to pick up on my next trip to Goodwill or sew myself. If you're familiar with Anthro, then I don't need to tell you about the products they sell. Their clothes are simultaneously amazing, hideous, overpriced, and lovely. They have a variety of cute knobs, flatware/silverware, and other cute homey-type things. Oh, and they have gorgeous bedding and towels, too. All of the things I just mentioned are typically super expensive... yet somehow strangely alluring. What I like about the MKE Anthro is how nice all of the sales associates are. I was in town for a wedding. When I realized the night before the ceremony, the store forgot to remove the security tag from my dress. First thing, I did was panic. I was unfamiliar with the area and had no alternative attire for the ceremony. My husband googled the nearest location (30 miles from our hotel). I hopped into my rental car to the nearest store located in Milwaukee. As I approached the store, I was immediately greeted by a sales lady. I told her what happen and she apologized and removed the security tag. She did not even question whether or not I actually bought the dress there. I am always impressed with the level of customer service here. But I was even more impressed during my last visit. Happy Shopping!!! read more

Note*** Please see Rachel F.'s review, because we are kindred spirits with respect to our feelings about Anthro. I have been known to spend OBSCENE amounts of money in this store. I have also been known to walk in circles throughout the store, try on 20 items, and walk out empty handed because I can't justify spending the money. Usually, I have NO problem spending money on well-made, unique articles of clothing. I used to work at Moxy (oh, how I miss thee)...and I have a refined taste for good fabrics and clothing design (you should see what I spend on a good pair of jeans.) But sometimes, the chinese-made, mass-produced, over-priced, but totally cute clothing in Anthro is too much for me. All I can think about is the unreasonable mark-up, and I leave completely disappointed. But...then there are the times that I just don't care, and I want some d@mn cute clothes. Goodbye $300. You would have been wasted on something else anyways. So the verdict is....when I'm feeling depressed, impulsive, and in need of shopping therapy, Anthro is my go-to. Great store to browse for inspiration! I'm a sewer and I go here when I need some help with new ideas. There's very unique clothing and home decorating items in here. Not the usual crap you see at the mall. This is pretty high end; great fabrics, interesting designs. It's a bit eclectic for me (I prefer goofy/modern stuff that you'd find at Anthropologie's partner, Urban Outfitters) but I feel so grown up and fancy walking through this place. For clothing it's a bit expensive so I typically only buy from the clearance room (back left corner). And for some reason I tend to prefer the store more in the fall/winter, I think I like their sweaters better than their spring/summer knits but that's just me. Their home decor is very cool, they have a great selection of drawer pulls, hooks, wall hangings and other things. I'm still pondering going back for those ceramic doll salt/pepper shakers! I know it's expensive but it's sooooo cute. They have so many cute ideas for home goods, trinkets, clothes, etc. If I could decorate each room in my non-existent house with stuff from here... This store has really pretty clothes and housewares and I always find a bunch of things I like. I still think the prices are very high, but they have sales sometimes and a big sale room so you can find some deals. I also think the quality is very good. All of the sales associates are really nice and helpful, too - especially in the changing rooms. read more

I love anthropologie's clothes and this store is a nice one because it is so big, the people who work there are nice and helpful, and there are nice big dressing rooms with places to sit. That said, it is of course rather expensive. I have never bought anything from here that wasn't on sale. I own lots of their clothes though because I buy it at Jeremy's in San Francisco where they sell the overstock. My husband doesn't mind me dragging him here because he likes perusing the books they sell. also, it is a great place to get ideas for making clothes as someone else mentioned. I am a big knitter and have gotten a few ideas from here. In fact, there is a ravelry group that makes things inspired by anthropologie. read more

Just one of those things... They don't have anything in my range of clothing, true, but I've bought enough gifts here to feel like I've contributed. And, should Powerball come calling, there are some pretty awesome ideas for setting up a room with furniture. They really do carry style well here, in clothes and in decor. I've always liked the people who work here that I've dealt with, but this store always felt a little more closed off than it's East Side copy Urban Outfitters. The actual feel of the place, though, is entirely 3rd Ward trendy. Which is why there's that missing star...I couldn't afford to put all five of them up. It's outrageously overpriced and the sales are usually a joke, but I love coming in here. I'm a candle whore. Take me into bath and body works when the 3-wicks are $10 and we're gonna have trouble. Anthro also does candles and they do them well at that. I highly recommend their "volcano" scene. Now those heavenly aromas and jars come at a price. Expect to pay upwards of $25 for a normal candle. I also love anthro for their dish-ware. This is a great place to pick up gift(s) for a birthday or holiday. I highly recommend the Lollia hand creams as well. Again, expensive....but really awesome. No men's clothing at anthro, which for me is probably a good thing, so I can't comment on their clothing quality. read more

Anthropologie is the closet I wish I had. Beautiful store front located very appropriately in the 3rd ward, distressed hardwood floors, whimsical decor. Once in a while I will splurge on an item from anthropologie, but other reviewers said it, the prices are quite high. Expect to spend upwards of 200 dollars for dresses and at minimum 50-100 dollar price tags for tops usually. A great place to find lovely little housewares like cute mugs, bowls, kitchen supplies, aprons as gifts. I love the little sale room in the back, but wish it was bigger. The entire store feels wide and spacey until you reach the tiny sale room in the back where you are elbowing other people trying to find a deal. A tip, if you like anthro sales, peruse the online sale page, sometimes even if an item is sold out online, it will still be available on sale in the store. That is pretty sweet! read more

Then, I received a curt comment from one of the salespeople at the door that the store was closed early for a private event! I was really excited when Anthropologie arrived in Milwaukee. FINALLLY! In comparison to the stores in Minnesota (I was a resident there for a year while in graduate school) the customer service is much better. I prefer sales associates to greet me than leave me alone to wonder; but still be available when I need a different size. Yes the price is above average but so is the quality of items in the store. When you first walk through the large wooden doors you'll see tons of clothings as you make your away around the store there is a home goods area. Adjacent to that is a table with the prettiest jewlery (Anthropologie's aesthetic is often imitated but the quality cannot be duplicated cough cough aldo cough ). The large space directly across from the case register is a bed thats often decorated with the seasons theme. Surrounding the bed are shelves of bedding, candles, books, and little trinkets. You'll find items for every part of your home and closet. The "cave", as noted by another review is small but full of discounted clothing and bedding. My most memorable shopping experience was the day after thanksgiving sale. I walked out of the store with three large bags and one big smile. $20 champagne flutes tinted yellow for $7.95, candles, plates, duvet cover, coffee cups. I now have a china cabinet that my mother would be proud of. This is a great store for individuals who dont mind spending a bit more money for items not made in China. Anthro is not insanely expensive. It's insanely addictive, so we spend more. The issue isn't that $88 shirt, it's not being able to leave without five $88 shirts, a bedspread, dress, vase, few darling dish towels etc. It's easy to drop a grand without blinking an eye--even after putting back a few things. The people working there are very helpful and they're very good about exchanges. I heard Giada's (Food Network) husband is the designer. Half of the experience is in the ambience. The creativity is incredible and the floor plan keeps you walking in circles, buying more and more. My favorite store. read more

Yes, Anthropologie is expensive but everyone knows that. What people don't seem to know is that everything one purchases there falls apart! Both myself and friends have succumbed to the beautiful looking, if highly priced, items in this store. The shirts purchased have ripped, the purses purchased have broken straps. It's ridiculous; unless you plan to buy items and hang them on yours walls as over-priced art, don't shop here. read more

Parking in the area is also really difficult; especially if you visit on a weekend. I guess I feel that for the price, you could go to Macey's or another great department store and get better customer service.
