This was such a cool spot! I came here for a quick lunch in their food court area. There were all kinds of food choices including sandwiches, sushi, and poke bowls. We decided to grab poke bowls. It was delicious! We grabbed lunch around noon and there was a lot of tables available, even though it was busy inside. Everyone we interacted with was nice. The ship yard was right outside and it was really cool watching and looking out at it! The inside of this place was also really neat, lots of different decor around. Even a small koi pond! BUYER BEWARE! FREE PEOPLE IS HORRIBLE ON THEIR RETURNS. If I could do LESS stars I would. I ordered a pair of jeans online and paid with PayPal. The jeans did not fit so I returned immediately the same day. FP confirmed they received and was processing a full refund. However I received a "credit" to spend my $128 plus tax, etc. on a FP Credit. This is NOT what I was entitled to since my return was within the return policy. I have contacted FP and PayPal asking for refund on the account I paid with NOT a company credit. I've called 800-309-1500 sent text mgs.., called and have proof of the time I've wasted trying to get through! This URBN review will be simply for the Shop 543 lunch spot which I have been to a couple times in the middle of the day, at the end of the Navy Yard in South Philly. They have really good, if expensive, grab-n-go lunches - ranging from sushi to pre-made salads, to the traditional salad bar, burgers, pizzas, pastas, and pretty much anything else that you could want to eat mid-day! My favorite choices here have been the avocado grilled cheese, the chicken caesar wrap, and the "buy it by the pound" pre-made salad combos (they'll even throw a sliced half of avocado with lime and salt in your box if you ask!). If you'd just like a quick coffee and cookie type of treat, there's the Jhahorka coffee stand in the same building, which serves up a quick cup of La Colombe and other (maybe organic) types of sweet bites. Now, here's the trick: Wear something super fashionable so you look like you actually work for URBN and you'll get the employee discount. read more

I LOVE THE NAVY YARD! Wait, I need to talk about Urbn first and then I'll get off track. Urban Outfitters as a whole is a pretty great company. I know several employees, and they almost always have positive stories. I mean, you can bring your dog to work! That in itself is mega awesome. URBN's commitment to reusing and repurposing materials in their buildings is also very awesome. They've modernized the area, but kept it very true, and reused as much as they could. BUT... the main reason I love coming here is because so much of the Navy Yard is still abandoned. Some of it is posted NO TRESPASSING - but not all of it. Fantastic photo ops. read more

Our client brought us here for lunch on a business trip to Philly. Loved the establishment in the Navy Yard where you can still see navy ships as you drive in. The Urban Outfitter HQ cafeteria is a well designed space with a gym, various food stations, seating area, and snacks/novelties stands. The place is filled with fun eclectic decorative elements that speaks to the Urban Outfitter brand image. The company had clearly made an effort in making the space more than just a cafeteria. From the high open ceiling, giant metal chain installation by the entrance, buddha statue in the reflecting pool with koi fish, and gallery-alike displays on the wall, the space turns into a industrial, fun, quirky exhibition space that cleverly reflects the history of the building and its own brand identity. I was surprised to see something so well designed and executed in the suburb of Philly. Along with all the city's historical sites, this would be another destination spot to take visitors. read more

This might be a completely useless review, but hear me out. I attended the 2013 Philly Tech Week Signature event. I'm terribly jealous that I work in a center city cubicle, and employees at URBN have access to such an amazing space. High ceilings, plentiful natural light, comfortable meeting space, vegetation, art...it feels professional yet warm and creative. The URBN food service was excellent, as well. Kudos URBN. Placed an order in April for a top for my granddaughter, received in May and Amx charged. Today June 4, received notice of another order (where'd that come from .. I haven't ordered another top exactly like the previous .... AGGGH!) ... in fact, the total is more!! Same top .. different total ... original order total was $46.59 ... this out of the blue order total is $57.19 ... same top. ** This review is for the URBN cafeteria ** When I accepted a job at the Navy Yard, I was ready for my lunch options to be either a 20 minute drive away or consist of fatty meat and cheese on a bun (not knocking it, but not for an everyday lunch choice). I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Urban Outfitters' HQ has a cafeteria open to the public! Things I love about this place: - Great food. Probably about 90% of the things I've gotten there have been awesome. Esp the LARGE number of vegetarian and healthy options - Great atmosphere. The building is ridiculously cool. I highly recommend you come here to just look around. Cool artwork. Cool koi ponds. Cool dogs (yes URBN HQ is dog friendly). Cool people. Things I don't like so much: - A TAD bit pricey. There are some things here that are crazy cray cray expensive (such as the coconut water that is something like $3.50?) - Slow moving lines. This is totally not the fault of the cafeteria or the workers-- it's just that this cafeteria is really popular and many of the meals are freshly made. Overall, the food is great at URBN and you feel cool by just stepping foot in the building. Look for some choices (I suggest the sandwiches or soups) to get more bang for your buck. And make sure you have enough time on your lunch break if you want to order a time consuming salad or stir fry. read more

First, who has a koi pond in their cafeteria? These jerks have two. I call them jerks only because I am full of envy and need to place this anger somewhere. In my new gig, we have hosted 2 events in their building- the first a high end dinner for CFO's and the second a more casual cocktail event for our alumni. Both events were successful and the space easily met each event's needs. I didn't have the opportunity to try their cafe, but the food at each event was good. Not sure they open their doors very often to host external events, but if you ever get the chance to go...GO....and say hello to the koi for me. read more

I am glad that something of substance is finally in the Navy Yard. As a Philly native, I know it has been talked about for literally decades as a destination spot. Though it may still be a little ways away from being just that, it has been revitalized by UO's headquarters there. Five empty, dilapidated buildings have been restored to better-than-their-glory-days condition. There is a some sweet landscaping and a few places to grab a bite to eat. The coffee shop is legit and it's a good spot to kill some time while waiting for someone who works there. Sometimes they even have little craft fair thingys in the main building. read more

This is the best work cafeteria. It can be a bit overwhelming and can get quit packed. There are 6 stations and they serve everything from stirfri, Pizza, sandwhiches (which comes with sides and a bag of chips for only 8$), Composed salad (weighed and sold by the pound), and sushi. read more

Beautiful space. My first venture down to the Navy Yard last nigh, while working the Great Chefs Event at URBN Headquarters. What a gorgeous building. They've really embraced the industrial warehouse, a former shipbuilding factory, but transformed it into a creative oasis with trees, big open spaces, glass office walls, and koi ponds, while keeping the iron and metal fixtures intact. A large open public cafeteria was our stage for the event. Huge. Massive. Can't imagine working here as an employee. There's also a small cafe for coffee, espresso and baked goods. A brilliant place to take photos as well. Worth the drive down to wander around and soak up the gorgeous scenery. Thanks for giving us a great space to have our event, URBN! read more

So thrilled to make the trip a second time to Urban Outfittters Headquarters in Philly, the first time it was closed. This is a massive naval yard reno, taking older turn of a century buildings and blinging them with everything urban and hip. I dont know how many buildings house urban outfitters admin but each building must be well over 10,000 square feet. The architecture is such that you can see in glimpses inside of designer mannequins and cutting tables through industrial steel, stone and glass. You can see libraries of fashion magazines and boardrooms and fabrics and colors all UO. Even the stainless steel dining tables have URBN punched out in little holes. The public spaces are amazing , floor to ceiling glass and industrial beams with an inner gym for the staff and two cafes and a library. There are buddhas and japanese fish, a small art gallery and tables strewn with umbrellas and fabrics. The cafe had a great selection and staff was quite friendly. We were even priveleged to watch a slideshow and demonstration of urban outfitters summerline complete with blown up orcas and beachballs. Outside in the courtyard , one feels like they have entered a far away exotic port. lime green umbrellas and the beauty of a shipbuilding view, lilac bushes float serenly on the water spelling out URBAN Next time you are in Philly take the time to visit this local, it is both inspiring and titalating. read more

This review is for the public cafeteria at URBN's Headquarters. I met a URBN employee here for a business lunch. The space is very industrial and the views of the old aircraft carrier just outside the windows is amazing. There is a wide selection of foods and while the lines are a bit long, they move quickly. If you find yourself in the Navy Yard around lunch time I recommend sticking around and grabbing a bite. read more

My husband bought me a $500 gift card 2 years ago,, i have used it maybe 10 times and still have a $220 balance. I used it last month to buy a small item at the mall no problem. I decided today to buy an item online,, the gift card # and pin # showed invalid. So i called the # it said to call if having problems at checkout. They told me your pin # should be #'s not letters. Well honey, i didn't make the gift card, your company did, so that is not my issue. So basically they said my gift card is invalid because the pin # on back is letters not #'s and could not help me in any way to complete my $34 transaction online! The girl then said to me " I'm not going to go back and forth with you on this". Are you flipping kidding me ? Isn't the customer always right ? Terrible customer service. She then basically said i don't know how you have ever been able to use this gift card in a urban outfitters store, without a pin#? I have used it at least 10 times without a pin # i just handed it to the checkout person and they rang it up... i will never step in this store again , and you are damm sure i am going to get my remaining $220 back thats left on this card or there will be hell to pay! We took my kid's Girl Scout troop here to have lunch and tour the public areas. (Would have been 5 stars if we were able to actually tour the facilities). The food is GREAT. Sushi, Salads, Hot and Cold foods. Great soups. The girls had a good time watching the Koi in the Koi pond, too. read more

If you ever get a chance to be in the Navy yard at lunch time then you've got to go to the Urban Outfitter Company Cafe - open to the public. So many choices you'll need at least an hour to figure out what to try. I had a lobster sandwich on a whole grain roll with a side salad, and cauliflower bisque , MEGA brownie and rasberry earl grey tea. If I could have eat more I would have tried the woodoven pizza or sushi - just an amazing place for the taste buds as well as the eye. a former shipbuilding factory situated on the mucky coastline of the delaware has been reinvented as a modern hipster mecca-of-sorts. outgrowing their offices with an expanding set of brands, urban outfitters recently moved from a classically styled building at 17th/locust to their biggie-sized space in the navy yard. the new headquarters features not only offices, meeting rooms, and certainly a sea of workstations, but also a boutique retail store, public cafeteria, lounge areas, and what office wouldn't want a koi pond too? sure, why not... design studios for their major labels- urbn, free people, anthropologie (and the soon-to-be terrain) are housed in a communal grouping of buildings nearby. the surrounding site's just as fantastic and pretty much open to the public all week long. read more

In terms of corporate cafeterias, Urban cannot be beat. With that in mind, however, Urban's food selections, while wide and varied, are not extremely gourmet. The first point to notice is the environment. There are maybe 6 stations specializing in different food areas (e.g. salad, sushi, grill), which may be overwhelming at first. Luckily, there is a board that breaks down specials of the day and describes each station. The architecture of the building itself is very interesting. Since the cafeteria is housed in the Navy Yard, Urban had kept remnants of older navy structures and integrated them with more modern architectural pieces. The result is an homage to the past while maintaining a clean look. Moving onto the food, I had come here on two separate occasions, ordering sushi in one instance and fish tacos in the other. The sushi itself was average, but for a cafeteria, it is very rare that raw fish options are even remotely acceptable. The fish tacos, served in soft shells and accompanied with tortilla chips and guac, was very satisfying. There is also an array of dessert options, but nothing may be as special as how it sounds. I had the creme brulee cookie, which only tasted like an extra sweet sugar cookie. Once again, though, while these meal options would be considered amazing for a cafeteria, on a standard of food overall, there wasn't anything that particularly blew me away. The highlight in being at Urban HQ, though, is not the food. People watching is perhaps the most amusing activity you could participate in. Since many different people come from different companies, deciding who actually works at the Urban HQ based on their attire is a fun game my coworkers and I enjoyed playing. If you're in the Navy Yard and want a change in pace from your company's cafeteria, Urban is the place to be. read more

When I call customer service I got sorry we shipped it late. I am totally disappointed with the manner in which my daughter and my niece was treated when they visited your store in North Hampton. Firstly, from they entered the store they were being watched by the associates like they were criminals. My daughter is 17 and my niece 19 and of course girls like to try on clothes, so of course they did and they also browsed for sometime. They eventually bought bracelets and nail polish and upon them leaving the store was approached by two policemen advising them that they were suspected of shoplifting. Now, your store Manager for the night which is named Lisa had no reason as far as i am concerned to suspect them of any such thing as they had no shopping bags and i can only believe that it was racial profiling. After searching them and they presented the receipt for the purchase, my daughter told me that the policemen apologised and told them that it was just protocol and quite frankly I am not blaming the cops. My disgust is directed at the store manager, Lisa and the associates. I personally will never visit any of your stores and will be returning the items that my daughter bought. I will also let all my friends know that I believe that the kids were targeted because of RACIAL PROFILING. read more

Terrible customer service!! fraudulent business practices! I purchased a gift card on-line on 3/12 and paid $15.00 to guarantee in time for a Bday. On 3/16 after no delivery called and cancelled and was told another would be overnighted via FedEX for Friday delivery. Received card one on 3/18 which had been canceled and CLEARLY never sent 2 day which I paid for, then when new card never shows up by 3/18 spent 15 minutes on the phone with the Supervisor REFUSING to get on the phone and speak with me and am told they have NO tracking with FedEX??? and that the card should?? be there on Monday 3/20??? oh and by the way would like to credit me for the first shipping?? which I was told already had happened. Called in to the HQ to ask a BASIC question regarding their summer internships, and was received by the rudest receptionist who not only declined to answer the question but made no effort to help and who proceeded to be a condescending B. I'm sure the physical headquarters are something to buzz about but from this experience, its customer service definitely isn't. Makes one think twice about even wanting to apply and work there. Also, if the policy really is to withhold all general, and possibly relevant, information (such as the specific months during which an internship will take place) until applicants have wasted their time applying for a position for which they could potentially not even be available for, then I strongly suggest URBN to review their policies and practice more transparency. BEWARE Before you order from this company....I placed an order 3 months ago and only part of my order was shipped and delivered to me...When I called to find out where the rest of the order was no no one seem to know...So obviously I refused to pay for the part I did not received , so I disputed the charges for the items I did not receive...Low and behold...3 months later I tried to place a few orders online and because of FREE PEOPLES screw up on shipping a block was put on MY account to not have any future orders place...I tried calling customer service , who was unable to assist in the matter and when I called their corporate office I received horrible attitude from the woman who answered the phone and a care free " who cares" and transferred me to a voicemail to someone who supposedly handles this ...The woman was remained nameless because she refused to give me her name because she felt I was upset and didn't what her name in any review. So my point being ladies and gentlemen ...Thnk Twice before you waste your money on a corporate that clearly is corrupt and DOES NOT know how to handle ANY customer related issues. Remember WE are the reason YOU ALL have Jobs...I will not stop my campaign until this issue gets resolved in a professional and RIGHT manor!!! I had the worst customer service experience that I have ever had in my entire life. I placed an order and as soon as I placed it I realized that my account was still linked to my old address. I called customer service within a minute of placing the order and was told that it would not be a problem to change the shipping address. I called back the next day after receiving my tracking information and noticing that the address was still my old address and not the new one I had given the day before. I called back and spoke to someone who was very apologetic and said that the person yesterday had noted the change on the account but had not contacted the warehouse to see the change through fruition. The women I spoke to was very apologetic and told me that she would put the change of address in again but if it did not go through in time due to it being a friday I could call back on monday and Urban would reship me my package. On monday I got confirmation that my package was delivered to my old address. I called back and was told that I could have my package reshipped to me, I just needed to wait a few days. Flash forward to yesterday (Tuesday 11/14) when I called again about my package. I was told that everything I had been told the past 3 PHONE CALLS was incorrect and I would not be getting a reshipment of my package. Apparently an email that was sent to my this past Thursday saying that Urban could not reship me my package was thought to be enough to make up for the THREE SEPARATE PHONE CALLS where I was told my package could be reshipped. I missed this email saying that I could not have my package reshipped and so when I called yesterday this was new to me. I understand that a reshipment of my package may go against company policy but then I should not have been told THREE SEPARATE TIMES by THREE SEPARATE PEOPLE that I could have my package reshipped. If I had been told that it could not have the address changed on my initial call, which I placed less than a minute after the order went through then I would have simply canceled the order before it was ever shipped. On my fourth and final call to customer service I spoke to the supervisor named John Camp who was frankly very unhelpful and simply told me "Im not reshipping you your package" when I told him that going to my old address and trying to retrieve the package over a week after it had been delivered there was not a viable option. Had I been told on the first call that I could not change the delivery address I would have canceled the order. Had I been told on the second call that the address could not have been changed I would have tried to intercept the delivery at my old address on Monday. Should I have been told on the third call that I could not have my package reshipped I would have tried to go to my old address to receive the package on the day it was delivered. Unfortunately, there seems to be a serious disconnect between the staff at the customer service centers and the company policy as I was told multiple times that something could be done that in the end could not actually have been done. In the end, I went to my old address a week after the order was placed and was told they no longer have my package. I received a refund on the order which can't even be applied to purchase the same items again as I purchased three thermals during the thermal sale at the beginning of November and that sale is no longer ongoing. While I was initially optimistic about the direction my customer service and online shopping experience with Urban was going, I was extremely frustrated and upset with the end result. I should never have been told that a change of address or reship was possible if it in fact was not. Furthermore, if I was told multiple times that a reship would be possible I should have been issued a reship even if it is "only a courtesy, not something Urban has to do" as I was told by John Camp, a man who came across as grumpy and unhelpful. I encourage you to go back and listen to the recording of the phone calls (any of the 4 times I called) to understand how your staff is miscommunicating your policy and making false promises to Urban. As a long time Urban customer I can never recommend your company again after what has been a horrible and unethical experience in dealing with my order. read more
