Urban Thrift is a great little store with a friendly, approachable proprietor. I am really impressed by the layout of the space, which is attractive, thoughtfully arranged, and easy to navigate for shoppers. There is an awesome process in place for those who want to submit clothing for consignment and an easy, transparent way for people to see whether their consigned items have been purchased. I have felt intimidated when dropping clothing off at other thrift stores, but Urban Thrift is definitely a welcoming space! I was told that the store holds a variety of special events and promotions, all of which sound very interesting although I have not yet been able to attend any. Still - lots of cool ideas that demonstrate out-of-the-box thinking. I'm looking forward to becoming a regular at this clothing store. read more

Found this place by accident on our way to Valu Village Super easy to get to by Transit: get off at Whitehorn station, walk down 1 block the hen turn left walk one block and its on your right in the strip mall. Spent $80 and got SO much. Tupperware brand new currently listed in the catalog for $40 , I got for $6.99!! Free people weekend bag for $5.99 - it's full of really great brand names in great condition for a good price. I think it's really well priced and there is SO much to look at. I spent an hour in the back corner kitchen area lol Even found my daughter some toys - wooden train set $4.99 and mega blocks set for $3.99. Tons of children's books too. Worth the 9 minute walk from the Ctrain station! :) read more

I was on my way to drop off some items to value village. At a stop sign I noticed Urban Thrift across the street with a sign saying 'accepting donations'. It never occurred to me that there might be other places to donate quality items. I've just always gone to Value Village or Goodwill. Urban Thrift surprised me! It's well organized, smells clean and fresh, has lovely displays and friendly helpful staff. It's not your typical thrift experience! I have been scouring antique shops and thrift stores for oval picture frames for months. Found a bunch here. There were lots of stampede items and novelty gifts and antique housewares. This place is definitely a hidden gem. Happy I discovered it. ;) read more

Today is National Thrift Store day. So, in order to celebrate properly, I decided to venture to a new-to-me thrift store to find some new-to-me treasures. Including a pretty sweet, bedazzled skull and cross bone belt buckle. Jealous? You should be. This thrift store was fabulous with displays set up all over to offer suggestions on how to style yourself and your home. It was super organized with just that right amount of clutter to make you feel like you're hunting, And although it's a bit of a drive for me, what I spent on gas I definitely made up as the prices are pretty great. the place is small but has some nice items. prices are a bit high but if you wait for a sale it's worth checking out. if you are going to give them items to consign, be very clear up front on their consignment pricing policy. They may give you 40% of the sale price, and at their discretion can discount your item for a quick sale. as an example, a jacket that was new and the original price was 120.00 was priced on the floor as 48.00, then put on a store wide sale very shortly after arrival and was sold. they claim my portion would have ended up being a whopping 7.00. This is unacceptable, if they are going to give away your item for less than 50% of their original rack price, they should give you the option to say yes or no. if you are ok with receiving next to nothing for your consigned item, then just know that your are doing good by recycling & re-purposing. read more

This thrift store has a lot of wonderful things. An amazing staff. And is very clean. However it ISN'T WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE. I couldn't get to the DVDs or CDs or linens. Shoes and clothing were also not accessible unless the staff moved displays and racks out of the way. The other issue was the prices. They were ASTRONOMICAL! $6.49 for a single large wine glass. $6.99 for an 8"x 8" no name baking dish. $19.99 for an out of date/rough shape coffee table book. Costume jewelry was selling for $9.99 to $19.99 in the store but listed online for $0.99 and up. Only go shopping here if you really know your prices. One other thing really bothered me. They were using a lot of items that had been donated to them to sell as display items. I needed a suitcase and they were quite literally using almost every one as a display. I asked if I could possibly buy one because I was going into the hospital but the manager said no. I wouldn't call Urban Thrift a true thrift store in the conventional sense but if your not handicapped and you can afford the higher prices I recommend that you drop by. read more

This store is insanely organized, staff are incredibly friendly and laidback, and overall I just got a really good vibe from this store! Although it is a little pricier than Value Village or Goodwill, I feel it is almost worth it for the atmosphere and how well organized it was. It didn't feel like the clothing was used either, they were all clean, and in excellent condition. I will definitely be coming back!! read more

First off all, it's super organized. It's really cool that the girls clothing is organized by size and colour. It is a cute little store with a lot of stuff inside, but not crowded and overwhelming. The quantity of items is less but the quality of clothes and other stuff picked out are probably the best. Each clothing is organized and labeled with a colour tag, the colour explaining if it is on a certain sale, along with it's actual price. The staff are super nice and absolutely friendly. The prices are pretty okay and it seems like they actually match the clothes and other stuff. I only been here twice but I'm pretty sure I will be coming back here to thrift! read more

I was blown away by the friendliness of the staff. They started a fitting room for me and offered to store my Value Village bag behind the counter while I shopped. These may seem like small things but they make a huge difference to me! The prices are good too and the large selection of clothes is all organized by colour. I was very disappointed with this thrift store. Seriously overpriced. I wanted to buy a simple pair of black shoes that were clearly worn on the toes and heels. This greedy store wanted $30 for them when truthfully should have been maybe $10. read more
