I stumbled upon ClothesHorse one day and thought I would check it out. The lady at the til greeted me and seemed quite nice. The store is packed with stuff! They had a good selection of jewellery, some pieces were really nice. I found a simple salt water pearl necklace for $19. There were some pashmina scarves in a corner of the store, for $29. I found some cute purple shoes for $25, I thought that was a bit much since they were a bit roughed up. It was hard to see the shoes because they were under the full clothing racks. I looked though the clothing and found that most of it was aimed toward older women. There were some nice belts, Micheal Kors for $30. Overall the prices were not that cheap, though most of the clothing seemed to be name brands. They only accept consignment by appointment, starting on specific dates for seasonal wear. You get 40% of the sale price. I would probably return to check out ClothesHorse again, but I wouldn't hurry back due to the prices. read more

I was fortunate to have a friend of mine drive me around one day to shop; she showed me some great bargain places but one in particular stayed with me. This consignment store although not as modern was packed with stuff that would appeal to an older age group but alas it did have some really nice gems. For the most part, racks are overstocked and shoes and boots seem to be of another time and era but my friend assured me that if you look really carefully you could find some hot items. And hot items she did find, a cute Calvin Klein clutch for like 12 dollars, some great designer bags and shoes in great condition for next to nothing prices. I was amazed! The woman working there is very nice and is very keen to help you find a size or an area to pinpoint what you are looking for. I came away with a stellar pair of Oscar de la Renta sunglasses at 10 bucks that I am sure are well over 200 bucks new. I will definitely go back to the Clothes Horse for another ride. read more

I love ClothesHorse! Depending on my mood the team will either help me or let me wander on my own, but they are always willing with suggestions, and I get to support a locally owned business that always has beautiful product ranging from very affordable to very label conscious options. I also really love their spring and fall fashion show luncheons, and attend with friends and family. read more

I LOVE this store!!! They often have new clothes with tags. I asked the lady about this and she said that designer stores in town will consign their off season items with ClothesHorse. If you're a golfer, you'll love all their 'new' golf wear and shoes! Don't expect to buy winter boots in the spring or summer though, this store is seasonal and displays items to reflect the up and coming season. My wardrobe has never looked so good! read more

What a weird, overpriced little store.... It has some decent name brand clothes, but the prices are crazy!! Very expensive. For example, a pair of Gap jeans, probably only worth 35$ or so new, they are selling for 30$!!! That is not a good deal by my standards. I've been a few times and always walked away with a purchase but found it frustrating to find any 'impluse' buys. I find I spend more time looking at the size tag than the item because the store is laid out by color and type - with all sizes mixed together. I would recommend they spend time reorganizing their store and lumping all sizes together so I don't get the feeling I have to comb the entire store to find all items in my size. Also the shoes and boots are scattered everywhere, again they need to sort by size so I don't continue to look at the same area over and over again. Only go if you have hours to spend looking for your size. read more

This women's consignment is a little gem. It takes a little searching to find what appeals but rest assured that there are great finds and awesome prices to be found everytime I shop here. The store boasts a tough policy on how old the clothing and shoes must to be considered for a consignment and yet the racks are full of retirement home mall fashion. Packed up with stuff, unfriendly sales person, it is not worth your time. I scored a Giorgio Armani silk blouse at the Good Will few doors over. read more

I had a very negative experience at this store. I felt verbally attacked by the cashier. She had me wait at the counter for a while before she approach to check me through. She answered a call after she got to the counter and seemed to be talking about the weather as well as a pick up for the customer on the other end of the phone. She asked me to put the clothes that I was not purchasing on the hanger so she would not have to take the time to steam them. I said I was in a rush and could she handle it and that she had been on the phone. Before I could finish my sentece her body language and facial expression was such that she was shocked appauled and dismayed at my "No" reply. She then said you know you could have put the clothes on the hanger while you were waiting for me on the phone but whatever. I found this customer service the most horrible I have ever experience and if I owned the store I would seriously look into customer service training for my employee. oksure@live.com read more

I feel qualified to write a review about used clothing stores as I've been in many in BC and Alberta over the years. The first time I visited this store I was pleased with the salesperson's (later I learned the owner) communication - no hard sell...just genuinely helpful. I found MORE than I was bargaining for! Many folks seem to want things for next to nothing...well I suggest you go to Value Village and thrift stores, because I appreciate the quality of merchandise in this store and the fair prices for what you are purchasing. I bought a barely used pair of Rockport black boots for less than half the price ($79) (in stores, a gorgeous brand new, red, Italian leather bag for $19, and a designer knee length feminine jacket with ruffles for $60. You know, supporting local, smaller stores feels so good to me rather than Big Box stores; having a relationship with someone who will find that "special item for me because she knows my tastes, just makes shopping much more pleasant. then, two weeks before Christmas the owner lent me two of her own delightful sweaters to wear to my family's Christmas party for an "ugly" sweater contest! I can't speak to the shopping experience as I did not stick around after trying to consign some clothes. Before showing up, I had carefully sorted my clothes into two categories: 1) stuff to consign and 2) stuff to give away (Goodwill is in the same strip mall as ClothesHorse). When I showed them to the lady at ClothesHorse, however, she only selected a few items, then told me my clothes were outdated and couldn't be sold. She still held on to my items though (WTF?!) and then said she could take the rest and give them to the Women's Shelter. I didn't trust her to (figured she would sell my stuff so I took it to Goodwill) as I had taken the time to offer items that were bought in the last few years and were in beautiful condition. She said that she could tell they were old as the current fashion is for shirts to be longer. I think she failed to realize that my shirts weren't too small or out of date, they were in fact XS. Also, all of my stuff was Banana Republic, Jacob or other such mall stores, not super cheap crappy stuff and was FAR FAR nicer than anything she was selling. Was offended that she tried to steal my stuff right before my eyes. Will never go back although I go to that strip mall all the time. read more

The owner, Who also works here is nothing but trouble. I have been to her store to shop before but I will never go back. She get mad and yells if you park in her stall reserves only for her customers and also causes a lot of drama. Last summer, me and my friend was parked in her stall, it was plus 16, and decided just to go into once upon a time, (who is the store who is next to hers). We were in the store for only 10 Mins, and my friends dog started howling only because she was missing my friend and the clotheshorse owner calls 911 and causes a huge scene. ( AND BTW WASTING OUR TAX DOLLARS FOR HER ATTENTION!) The police even called us back and told us that she was just drama!!! If she was so concerned about my friends dog, instead of calling the police she should have check on the dog, but of course she didn't. I was just there recently to once upon a time, I parked in the stall and was a tiny bit over the line into her stall. She comes out telling and demanding me that I had to move my car over. I didn't want to because I have small children and didn't want to hit the car next to me. And I also didn't want to park elsewhere because I have little ones and that was the closest parking spot to the store I want to go into. So I go on to tell her that I knew her and told her I didn't want to move the car, then she began telling me she had greyhound delivery bus coming and if they ding my car that would be my problem. I said oh well, she went on telling me that I was rude and hope that MY KIDS wont turn out like me. Anyways to make the story short,, I will never ever shop there again. JUST DRAMA AND TROUBLE. read more
