I dropped my 2 shirts off on a Thursday evening and since I wasn't in a rush I kept it to the basics and was told I could pick up my shirts on Tuesday afternoon. The employee working was extremely friendly and walked me though the process. Another cool thing I liked about this place is that on top of giving you a ticket with the date on it, they also shoot you a text when the items are ready for pickup, super cool service! I had been a customer of Urban Valet for about a year and a half - using them for cleaning my work dress shirts and pants. While their prices are high, I stuck with them due to the automatic billing and their delivery and pick-up service. When my last order was delivered, included was a plain white "fruit of the loom" type undershirt on its own hanger. Apparently, in my bag of dress shirts, I had inadvertently included an undershirt. Normally, I would find that amusing - but when I looked at the sales slip that was attached to the undershirt, I found that I had been charged $6.68 for a cleaning. I had hoped that Urban Valet would - as part of basic customer service - apply common sense to their work. Apparently, that is not the case. It seems that anyone would understand that a customer would not spend $7 to clean a $4 undershirt. If Urban Valet applied genuine customer service to their work, it should have prompted a call or text to me to explain the situation and determine my intentions. When I contacted them, they replied "Believe it or not we do have customers whom we process t-shirts on a regular basis so that is really not out of the ordinary!" Well, I do not believe it. Maybe customers include multiple undershirts as part of a bulk laundry order, but not on an individual $7 per piece basis. They also said I should have notified them that I was "prone from time to time to misplacing a t-shirt in your bag". Further they said "Also, if you simply informed us of the wrong processing price for your shirt we would have no problem crediting your account." I thought that's what I had done by contacting them in the first place. Luckily, there are plenty of other options. I recommend you do not use Urban Valet. read more

I've only been here a few times and for someone else. But I found it terrific. Thy know their customers and can greet many by name. They quickly learned I was there for a long time customer. The goods we have had cleaned, men's trousers and shirts as well as women's sweaters, looked great. Pricing was fine. I went there initially because we got a letter that said something had been left there for a year and they would have to donate it if not picked up. In I went to rescue the item. Their listed price for wash and dry is $1.70 per pound of clothing, a little high but acceptable considering I had it picked up and delivered. What I did not find acceptable was the extra $16.92 PER PILLOW charge. I consider that price gouging. They have a pricing list on their website but no special charge for pillows is listed. One of my shirts was shrunk. I thought they were a little pricey when I picked my stuff up, but now I realize they're just terrible. Last week I brought in a couple jackets to be cleaned, one with a small coffee stain and another with a few dust marks around the shoulder. After waiting for 5 days to have them cleaned, I had them picked up on Monday to find that all the stains remained and they had been folded and hung nicely to hide this fact. To make things better, they had placed a tag on the hanger saying "sorry, this was the best we could do." I don't think they even tried... I have had cleaners get wine and even blood out of clothing before. This is a pathetic attempt, and at the cost of $30. I wish there was some way to get my money back and take my clothing to a more experienced establishment. Going here is a waste of time and money. Stay away. :-/ read more

This is a ridiculously expensive dry cleaner. For that price, it is NOT worth it. For a while, I thought a stain on my shirt could not come off. I had taken the same shirt to Urban Valet several times and the stain still remained. That was until I took the shirt to another dry cleaner. The only reason this place is getting one star is because there's no option for zero stars. I had brought a coat here last winter after spilling coffee on the front. When I picked the coat up, it looked exactly the same as it had when I dropped it off. They charged me a fortune, and they had clearly done nothing. There was a tag on the hanger that read, "Sorry, this was the best we could do." I did try to call, but there never seems to be a manager available to speak to at this location. As I don't know too much about dry-cleaning myself, I let it go. This week, I took the same coat to another dry cleaner. Keep in mind, this coffee stain has now been sitting for almost a year. It was returned to me in absolute perfect condition and I was charged significantly less. Now come on. Am I seriously expected to believe Urban Valet did everything they could to remove these stains, when another dry cleaner did so effortlessly? I've been using this dry cleaner for years based solely on convenience. It's right on my way to work and they have a little drive way perfect for pulling right up to the door and dropping off your clothes. But I think it's time I sacrificed convenience for quality. On more than one occasion I've received my clothes with weird creases that just will not go away. I've also noticed small spots or other marks that either weren't there before or were not cleaned properly. The clincher that is making me dry clean elsewhere: When I picked up my white pants there was a note that said "Sorry, this was the best we could do." Wait, what? Unlike many of the other reviewers, I don't have an extensive history of visiting Urban Valet, and I don't have a horror story. However, a very expensive Kenneth Cole wool overcoat nearly was a horror story. Thanks to a particularly slushy day and a particularly unlucky tumble, the coat was absolutely covered in salt-and-slush stain, the salt-and-slush of Buffalo streets in January. Then work hit, and I couldn't reach a dry cleaning service for two. I was nigh hyperventilating with worry. I brought my coat down in spite of the reviews I read and picked it up two days later with nary a sign of my misfortune. The price ($12.30) for cleaning of a wool overcoat was reasonable, and Urban Valet is the closest dry cleaning service to my abode. When next I need dry cleaning, I'll likely take it here. read more

The original lining had literally disintegrated but the leather shell was in perfect condition. The end product is stunning, it looks better than new at a fraction of the cost of a new jacket. A big noticeable coffee stain was definitely taken out. One thing I was disappointed about was that dry cleaning didn't take out the wrinkles/creases caused by years of wear where the elbows are. Perhaps that's more for the pressing process, but isn't that done after dry cleaning always? I figure for the price they charge it would include that? My husband had his vintage Pendleton wool hunting coat dry cleaned here. He was hunting and basically fell into a muddy river and his coat was totally gunked up. Everything came out but the coat was no longer stiff and thick feeling. The coat now feels thinner and squished like the wool was changed. I did not have that happen with my coat so we both thought it was weird. Overall: Nothing shrunk, stains/gunk was removed but the "changing of the wool" makes me hesitant to use this place again for dry cleaning of wool (which the majority of my dry cleaning is). But the standout quality at this location is the customer service, specifically the manager Sarah. She always is super professional and friendly. If there is ever a question or I need something cleaned quickly, she can solve the problem. I usually hand-wash my dry clean only items because I do not trust others with my clothes since most of them are expensive silk or other delicate fabric clothing. I thought I'd try a dry cleaner to save time, and I had them dry clean a silk Marni dress. When I got the dress back it was covered in small oil-like stains, and all of the buttons on the dress were chipped and ruined. It was as if someone wore it, stained it with oil, then put the dress through a heavy wash cycle. I called the location and they didn't even apologize, just told me to bring it back. Moved to Buffalo recently and used this dry cleaner for the first time. Friendly staff who helped me with the door as I was carrying my baby. Easy to park coming from either side of Delaware avenue in front of the store. They did a decent job on my dress pants for work. It's much more expensive than what I'm used to in Brooklyn, but at the end of the day, a lot of my clothes are dry cleaning only, so I need to find a reliable place.
