WARNING, Eagle painting is a crooked contractor! We hired Gary base on phony reviews (hindsight =…read more20/20). We were planning to list our home on the following weekend that Gary estimated the job. He quoted completion of work in three days, so we paid the first installment. Gary cashed our check immediately, and three weeks later, we were still waiting. The date they were supposed to be finished we went to meet them at our home, Gary's crew wasn't there, and our house was a complete wreck. The painting crew finally arrived around noon, and nervously began collecting their supplies (including some of mine). The crew leader informed me that Gary put them on another house. The rest only gets worse -- we ultimately missed three additional weekend listing dates, and the only progress was shoddy at best. We finally had to cut our losses and fire Eagle painting, which was difficult since Gary cashed our check. Next, we were notified by three neighbors that workers were still showing up at our vacant home and smoking marijuana in the backyard. They had broken in through the laundry room windows. We called KPD, filed a report, have the witness of multiple neighbors, hundreds of photos, and very well kept written records. From one consumer to another, please spare yourself the mess and go with another painting contractor. I'll try to post some photos.

What a wonderful business, extremely nice people with great ideas. If you're looking for a great…read moreconstruction company, look no further, you can't do better than HDP. Ray, the head of the company, is extremely knowledgeable and very kind. They have an interior designer, Nohemi, that has a great eye, and we loved her design portfolio. Our budget and time frame ended up being a little tighter than we had originally hoped due to some required foundation and electrical work, so we had to scale back our project and go with a smaller business. However, we are hoping when we do our next project, which will be the kitchen, that Ray and Nohemi will be available. Would love to work with them beyond just the design phase.

YES, their were Construction delays and hiccups along they way. It's called Construction for a reason. But what we love about HDP is they stand behind their work and they are as honest and trustworthy as you get. Just incredible people. It is 2025 and we again have a few projects we want to do and some things we want updated. Ray was able to reach out to the subcontractor who worked with us during our 2016 remodel to make changes to our home security system and cameras. Seriously, almost 10 years later. We had a custom built steel gate installed in 2016. Ray still knew who built it and knew what would be involved at adding a new coat of paint. Ray also helped with moving us over to one system like Ring, Nest,or Wyze. Instead of a hodge podge of various products. This has been huge. During that process he reminded us that the new code requires 3 smoke/fire/carbon detectors. We have referred several friends to HDP and allowed individuals to tour our home and inspect his work. Because we continue to be that impressed. Last week we again gave him a long list of normal wear and tear items to more extensive projects and he submitted his review timely and accurately along with a couple suggestions. We look forward to beginning the next list of projects.

I normally don't write reviews even if I'm temporarily frustrated or inconvenienced because people…read morehave bad days or they may have things going on in their personal life that I don't know about. That being said, I'm going to try & be objective here by just stating the factual series of events experienced with this contractor so that you can make your own opinion. We chose OHYH because we liked the work we'd seen them post on social media, and they seemed reliable and trustworthy upon meeting them for our initial consultation. Their bid was higher than the others we got, but we felt that it was worth it to not have to come up with a design completely on our own and be involved with all the small decisions. Their timeline worked with ours as well, we met in February and agreed on a start date in late May (which was fine as long as we could be finished before our baby was due in September). After reviewing the payment schedule, which was laid out clearly, and design/construction process we felt comfortable giving them a deposit to hold our spot. Fast forward to mid-May. Part of their process is to create a design and to give options for materials/fixtures prior to paying the first draw of 50%. The design we received was a photo-shopped Pinterest posting (we saw the Pinterest post looking for ideas) that wasn't the vibe we were going for. We asked for other options, but didn't receive anything new by the time they sent us the service contract for execution & requested the first payment draw. This made us a little nervous (having no agreed upon design before paying them 50%) as we have been burned by other contractors in the past. So I asked that the deposit be credited towards the first draw instead of the last (as outlined in their original proposal) as a means to protect ourselves from OHYH bailing on the project before it was finished or any other number of things that can go wrong at the tail end of a project. We weren't trying to pull a fast one on them, they would still be paid the agreed upon fee as long as they delivered on the construction side. We just wanted a good faith reinforcement that they would deliver what they promised. OHYM fundamentally disagreed with this request as it was not part of their business plan and wouldn't concede. We thought it was odd that they wouldn't budge on something so small that really doesn't change the scope or the amount of money they were to be paid, it would have just changed when the deposit (already paid) was credited, but to each their own I guess. The next day we discussed & changed our mind--we thought these people seem trustworthy and maybe we were asking too much of them to change their process but we hadn't told them that we were planning on moving forward yet. Later that day we received an email from them requesting we go our separate ways & that they would send us our deposit back in the mail. "It may be in your best interest to general contract this project yourself as you both have expressed the desire to thoroughly understand design details, itemized budget, and the fear of being overcharged." In my opinion (my only opinion statement in this review), regardless of how your remodel is planned, if you're spending money to forever change your home, it is perfectly reasonable to express the desire to thoroughly understand design details, to know where your money is being spent, & to have a fear of being overcharged by people that you don't know. I was also asked by OHYH to remove a few of the tiles in our bathroom prior to the demo date so that they could assess scope of the demo. It was completely my decision to do this, but it adds insult to injury. Now we have a bathroom that looks even worse than it did before with several tiles missing & we're in a panic trying to find a new contractor before the baby comes. Note: no work was done so I can't speak to work quality or value.
